Thanks for taking the time for this video. Youve answered all my concerns. I bought the same model with the same problem from a thrift shop.
    Youre a life saver!

You've done all of us a great service. The loose belt is a common problem. I don't know if the common person could replace it if need be, but at least it would give them a good start. Another problem would be a cracked worm gear. I've vowed never to buy another B&H 1500 series again because of those issues, but I am so glad to know that you had success in repairing your unit. By the way, I loved reading your captions. They are hilarious. I own five different projectors: a Kodak Pagent 250S, a Singer Instaload, two JANS and the first Kodak Pageant ever made. Great film print, too!! Entertaining and fun video!!

@jasonbeard4713 Yeah I'm pretty fed up with all the lovely green B&H's because the worm gear on all of them are doomed. Just a matter of years or decades and they crack. Nasty & difficult repair if you can get the replacement part. I have 2 Singers and they are great top-notch machines without questionable plastic parts.

@lazycowvintagethriftdesign5595 Do you also collect film, or did you buy that one to test the projector?

In this cartoon, Irving Gertz gets on-screen music credit rather than "Bill Lava."

LIKE number 50 which is pretty nifty. LIKED and SUBSCRIBED now too.
I do love vintage movie projectors and I have several 16 mm projectors; antique silent ones as well as more modern sound models from the 1970's, as well as an assortment of 8 mm and Super 8 mm silent and sound projectors. I also own a few feature films and many shortened "digest" versions of feature films, Universal Monster movies, etc.
There's nothing like threading a movie or cartoon short and projecting it onto a screen with the clackety-clack sound of a vintage projector. It just adds that authentic movie-watching experience (as much as I love VHS, laserdisc, DVD's, Blu-rays, 4K's, streaming movies, etc.). :)

Yep, that *would* be "Daffy Rents" (1966).

You have the take-up reel in the rewind position. The projection position is down lower. I have a Filmosound with the accompanying instruction book, so I know what I’m talking about.

I've heard a rumor that my editor was naughty and went a little Monty Python on this video. Should I fire him?

Smart guy, smart repair, dumb titles are annoying. Lose them. Other than that, enjoyed learning from you.

Interesting but could have done without the stupid comments flashing up.

Nope, incorrect. Stoopid comments were put there by the filmmaker to liven up an incredibly boring film!

Estos proyectores son preciosos pero tienen un problema con el engrane gusano

Yes Ruben. Fixing the belt is easy. But the Filmosound projector often develops a cracked worm gear. That's a much more difficult problem to fix!

@Trevtron24 - I dig what you're saying Trev. But honestly, I never thought this particular video was going to get a dozen views! I'm not sure if viewers are trying to fix a projector or want to watch a Speedy Gonzales cartoon? So I added the Monte Python comments for my own amusement. As a filmmaker - I get to make those decisions and the viewer can decide to watch or go somewhere else. FYI I think the 3 Stooges are hilarious and my wife absolutely despises them. Thanks for the praise, and also the Eeyore comment. Again as a filmmaker - the greatest accomplishment is to engage the viewer in some way, especially emotionally. Many RUclipsrs are DELIGHTED to rattle your chain without any positive reactions. Peace. - Grandaddy-o
