Good morning A pleasing and informative clip on Adenoidectomy. My grandson has been referred to an ENT specialist and the recommendation is to have these removed together with his tonsils. Your clip has given us a preview and possible food for thought. He has been scheduled for the procedures in early August. We are keeping our fingers crossed. Thanks and greetings from Brisbane.
Also i heard there's a way to use laser to burn out the adenoids in the child instead of cutting out the adenoids, which cause less problem or no problem in their adulthood. Please how true is this laser procedure?
I have a boy that just turned 5 lthis month and our ENT doctor said we should go for the procedure. Though they recommended it since he was 3+. My boy is having a delay speech also, he sleeps with his mouth open at night making breathing difficult. I am just scared to sign the procedure for him.
Same problem my 4yr old daughter...iam also scared...How is he now?pls tell me ....Are you good? If yes....What treatment did you do? Pls sir or mam tell me
Hi, it was the best decision I have made for my 3 year old who just had hers done 4 weeks ago and my 6 year old who had hers done 2 weeks ago. My 3 year old sleeps so well through the night without snoring and the recovery is so fast. They both continued with their usual play on the same day we got home from hospital.
Please have you seen people that had the surgery as kids and are adults now? Whats their health like generally now? Do they still have respiratory issues, like what are the disadvantages they face now as adults?
I had both adenoids and tonsils removed and tubes into my ears when I was 3 due to frequent infections. I still continued to get ear infections but not as frequent. One tube never fell out until I was 21 so that's probably why. Other than that I was fine I have generally good health. I do get seasonal allergies and have mild asthma (don't think its related as most my family also does). Thought I'd share my experience if it helps you. I am currently trying to decide whether to get my son's adenoids removed he's only 10 months old.
Hi im 33 female. I had my tonsils removed at 5 as i was always sick with tonsillitus. I didnt have many throat infections until recently ..more like sore throats really... sometimes for sore than others...when ive been more run down generally due to life stress work etc and working with people who have less self care such as mental health or send students. I tend to catch frequent colds now but not major. I rather this than massive tonsils that take forver to go down . Hope that helps. I have asthma but i think that is also due to poor life choices i dont smole but i eat junk .im not fat but i am sat down alot due to work too xx
The topic is misleading. Click bait. How is speech delay/development affected?
