"Germany entered the war with a large number of tank dxesigns that were, by and large, superior to their oppositon". This is simply untrue. Early war German armour was poor. Their early war successes were due, almost entirely, to superior tactics.
@@HerrZenki Greetings.👋 When engaging an E 25 from the front, the left side of their lower front plate from your point of view is one of their ammunition racks. It might tank some practice to hit, but once one starts to figure out its exact position, they can learn to kill their DPM or at least reduce it a noticable about.👌
I found that the Bassoto with the derp gun is quite effective at eliminating an e25. Put in a gun rammer and pop out 2 450dmg shells in 5.5 seconds. They don't expect it, so each time they've basically sat in front of me and eat the first shell. Probably thinking that they will kill me before I reload. They don't, and another cockroach is dead. But general rule of thumb with an e25.... Avoid them.
It’s just hilarious to me that the solution they had to solve production and development problems is to introduce 5 additional paper design that requires retooling of all current factories which would dramatically slow or stop production for several months. And during the transitional phase make the logistics of parts even more of a nightmare. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the project is cancelled just by being looked at by some logistics people and they just went “yeah no”.
Sorry to be that guy but the e25 model in world of tanks clearly uses an mg34 ( as can be seen by the perforated hand guard and the hexagonal locking nut behind the muzle booster) and not a 20 mm auto as specified in the video
Aestethic plays a major role in why theres a renewal of interest in these. Their sleek plain design is now seen as futuristic while before it was seen as too spartan.
How the E25 weights in at 27 tons when the even longer and thicker armored Hetzer only weighs 16 tons? Is the longer gun with the same caliber is so much heavier?

Ah yes, E-25. The time germans came up with paper idea for Strv103 wannabe:D Idk, E series always weirds me out. Especially with how people think that E-50 and E-75 weren't just Panther and Tiger B on new more sturdy component base. There were suggestion to have E-50 and E-75 share hull and be like standard tank and Jumbo version, but if I recall right that was basically napkin suggestion only at that point
there was slightly more than that, but yes generally speaking the e50 was going to be the base tank of the german army, and the e75 and e100 would be breakthrough tanks, with the e10 and e25 was scout and rear guard units respectfully. also to add the whole project was to just consolidate all of the tanks to use as many components as each other, that way you dont need 50 factories to produce 50 different parts for 50 different tanks.
@@vunguyenxuanhoang7422 it doesnt help they keep finding problems and fixing them, and creating a new sub division of said tank. however the germans got nothing on japanese airplanes, you can legitimate have 20 different aircraft all under a6m3, solely because a wing spar was changed differently. and they had a system to show what was a major change, a minor change and a engine change. FOR THEIR AIRCRAFT DESIGNATION SYSTEM
@@Thekilleroftanksexcept that's the myth I talked about. E-100 predates E series development by about a year as it's continuation of Tiger-Maus project and it was shut down before Maus. And as stated, E-50 and E-75 development limited itself to developing component base that would fit dimensions of existing Panther and Tiger B, allowing their standardisation on shared components. E-50 wouldn't have been nothing beyond Panther G with fixed reliability issues. WoT popularized the myth that is taking a suggestion of one of the designers to the extreme, however that was only a suggestion and actual work wasn't done in that direction. E-10 and E-25 are even weirder case.
Not gonna lie, any time I manage to kill an E25 in WoT, I get a very satisfied feeling, usually have a bit of a laugh, and if the timing's right I'll crack open a beer in celebration.
The E series was an attempt at standardising a complete chaotic bunch of tanks into a proper series with interchangeable parts. This would have made production easier and cut waste and costs.
Hard to believe that Germany was planning a 1942 tank with less frontal armor than the Auf. J panzer IVs (80 mm) and an incredible 550 HP engine when the Auf. J panzer IVs has 265 hp Mayback engine. (High Horsepower = high fuel consumption and Germany lacked fuel/energy.)
You are comparing apples to peaches. E-25 would have been a 1945/46 development while Pz IVH (J was a later but worse version) was essentially a 1930s design. 50mm sloped at 50° comes pretty close to 80mm effective armor. The old MAYBACH in Pz IV also dates back to the 30s. There were engine developments, supposedly diesels, for the E-series with up to 1000 (?) HP for the big boys, i.e. E-50 and E-75. If it was to have that kind of mobility, the E-25 would have needed a 500 HP engine at least. It's all theory anyway. However, how all that would have come to play, considering the fuel situation you've mentioned, is questionable at least. The whole thing is so Sci-fi, it wouldn't be misplaced in "The Man in the High Castle". They would have needed the E-series to travel back in time to stop the Allies from overrunning Germany to be able to produce the things in the first place ...
Well, just because a vehicle can move faster doesn't mean it will do so all the time. The battlefield would have remained a warzone with all the constraints that imposes and I suspect the E25 would have simply had a bit more pep to get over hills or make quick dashes when flanking, retreating or moving to otherwise favourable positions. Back then, most fuel was consumed when travelling to the front or whilst idle and neither requires maximum acceleration or speed. Plus, it was supposed to be light and this would further improve its fuel economy (in theoy). r
@@aymonfoxc1442 Absolutely. Top speed is only important for quick deployment. On a battlefield, acceleration is way more important. You won't go 60 km/h off-road anyway in a WW2 tank. Way too much attrition for any component of the suspension. And the Germans (and British !) tankers didn't wear head protection or helmets, which makes an off-road trip so much more enjoyable ...
I personally think that the E-25's design would have only exacerbated the issues the Jagdpanzer IV/70 had with regards to its abysmal, front-heavy handling and maneuverability. An approach more akin to the Jagdpanther or the "Hetzer" would have been more suitable. That being said, from a pure combat point of view I do believe it would have had a similar performance to the stellar Jagdpanzer IV and Jagdpanzer 38 (t), likely even better (I know, makes sense since it's an evolution of both designs). An utter nightmare for Shermans and T-34s alike.
i don’t think the machine gun on top of the e25 in wot is a 2cm, but rather the same sort of machine gun in the hull of panzer 3s to tigers beside the driver hatch
A youtuber named "Wassilij Saitsev" (or similar) made a video (in German !) about the E-series. He shows some blueprints, a good part of which were about the proposed suspension(s). There was everything in discussion from bogeys to torsion bars.
I'd disagree with your summary of German armour pre war and leading to 1939/40. Heavily relying on Czech tanks doesn't indicate a well equipped armoured branch.
Got to disagree with the comment that Germany entered the war with tank designs superior to most of their oppositions, the four main types of German designed tank fielded by the Wehrmacht in 1939 were, at best, equal to or even slightly inferior to many designs they faced, it was the tactics not the tanks that gave the Germans the advantage over their enemies early in the war.
The E-series was a theoretical effort on paper by Germany to introduce production engineering. Something the USA and USSR had been doing since the outbreak of war.
Man do I love this goofy little mf in Blitz. When there's deals for it it can usually be bought for like a 15 bucks with all modules and some boosters, and it can really just rip things apart with pure DPM - during the fun modes, it and the Chrysler K are my credit printers.
Some of realistic composed E25 will be not failure because similar td 38t 75mmL48 Hetzer and 38D with 75mmL70 approved as good successors of Stug3G [ simpler production, faster vehicles etc] in fact E10 was real Hetzer[after 38D], E25 was JpzL70E successor
To clear up a point, the model in WOT is powerful, perhaps OP. However, the secondary armament is not functional, merely decorative, and has no bearing on the game.
Definitely not, but a jadgpanzer IV without it's skirt armor would look very similar at a quick glance, as the E25 is very very often depicted without skirt armor.
If I'm just going by the Mercs and BMWs I've had the displeasure of doing exhaust work to, it seems the Germans can't make anything if it isn't 'reinventing the wheel' in a more complicated manor while proclaiming "superior engineering" that requires unnecessary disassembly of parts to even be able to look at the actual part you're fixing.
if they wanted any sort of advantage from standardization in time for the war they would of had to start at least when they designed the panther & tiger if not with the panzer 4, or even the panzer 3 seeing as they made so many sturmgeschütze
They tried. But being germans they where to stupid and lousy as engineers to get it right. So instead of a universal replacement for P3 and 4 they endet with trash that destroyed the final drives after less than 200km and tended to catch fire for no reason
@@mbr5742ah, the classic "they were stupid because it had flaws" argument. Alright fancy pants, take the chair of the armaments minister. Let's say that instead of 2 panthers they made 3 or 4 lighter and simpler panzer IV'mk2. They were out of oil reserves in late 1941, not enough fuel for normal operations so how would they fuel even more tanks? Where would they get additional rare metals, rubber and other materials to produce additional tanks? Everyone knows that Germany lacked manpower, especially trained crews/pilots, jagdtigers were being abandoned because the crews were spooked by a handful of shermans, they would have had to resort stuffing children into "reliable" tanks with no fuel, swarmed by aircraft, pounded by artillery and swarmed by infantry. 80 years some guy on the internet would say "ah, stupid germans made a million of small shitty tanks, they should have built like 10 really big ones" German engineers and industry made the best of the situation they were in. So did Soviet and American ones. The war was impossible to win. But please, share your thoughts how those imbeciles could have done better

1:07 actually, the vast majority of German tanks when they entered WW2 were NOT superior to their opposition. What the German's had was much better tactics (particularly "combined arms" use), and much better coordination and crew training. Yeah, the Germans had plenty of radio sets, but, for example, the invasion of France involved a huge number of Panzer I and Panzer II.🙄 The move to endless "complicated" tanks with endless issues is really only a 1943 (perhaps late 1942) - onwards problem. And even then, the Germans kept cranking out StuGs.
Th coupola mounted gun was taken from a porche design by wargaming. If he was claiming hulls were made they may have not been at the plant as hull welding was done off site just like tiger hulls which were delivered from welders by rail to the krupp works
It could be useful if used the same way US tank destroyed were originally envisioned, as a more mobile replacement for towed antitank guns rather than a replacement for a tank.
That's what all tank destroyers generally were supposed to be. SUPPOSED is the key word here. And the Germans came up with the idea first. The US Army "coincidentally" came to the same conclusion. Even TD doctrine was as close as it can get, only differing in the actual unit size desired to engage the enemy. Edit: We always forget the Russians; their "AT-gun fronts" weren't that mobile compared to SPGs, but they reflect the same doctrine.
If the E series was started before the war it might have made a little difference, but it wasn't German equipment that did for them, but the mad man sat on top
The E25 really is just another great waste of resources. Sorry kids but all the E series make for really cool model kits. The WOT version is a sales to generate revenue. WOT might as well include Hammer's Slammers and Bolo series of vehicles as real world things 😊😊
Bro what is with that claim that germany was a pioneer before the war and entered the conflict with superior tanks than the others? The reality was quite literally the opposite, they had mediocre tanks when compared to certain allied tanks, especially when they invaded USSR and faced the T-34, but those later larger and more complex german tanks, while they did have issues of their own as you mentioned, were the actual reason why german tanks were considered superior. Nobody considered the panzer 2 superior to the czech or french light tanks, nobody considered early variants of panzers 3 and 4 superior to early T-34s either.

@@nowthenzen Also, from most accounts, whoever saw first, shot first, wins first. It is really hard to respond to an enemy tank when your hull is ringing like a bell, even if it didn't penetrate. A burst of machine gun fire sparking across your vision ports is going to make it really hard to aim accurately.
The Cockroach is hilariously fun to play in WoT. If only it had more ammo to keep the comedy going longer.

"Germany entered the war with a large number of tank dxesigns that were, by and large, superior to their oppositon". This is simply untrue. Germany entered the war relying primarily on obsolete Pz Is and IIs and tanks looted from the Czechs, almost all of which were inferior to frontline French and Soviet vehicles. Early war German armour was poor. Their early war successes were due, almost entirely, to superior tactics.
Love the e-25 video. Hope you also make another e-series video.
I wanna see the E10. An even smaller boi.

Great ambitions, insane political leadership

How the E25 weights in at 27 tons when the even longer and thicker armored Hetzer only weighs 16 tons?

Ah yes, E-25. The time germans came up with paper idea for Strv103 wannabe:D
Idk, E series always weirds me out.
@@Thekilleroftanks "50 factories to produce 50 different parts for 50 different tanks"
German engineering at its finest :v
More like the Kanonenjagdpanzer built after the war in Germany. In concept, appearance and function. The Strv103 is a completely different approach.
PAW hi lo pressure system eas awesome, considering 75 mm is
4,000 lbs as example.
The PAW 75mm is 800 lbs with towing system.
It seems like the obvious solution - I'm kind of shocked they didn't go for standardization right from the start of the War honestly.
They tried. But germans are to lousy as engineers and to stupid in general to pull it of
Not gonna lie, any time I manage to kill an E25 in WoT, I get a very satisfied feeling, usually have a bit of a laugh, and if the timing's right I'll crack open a beer in celebration.
I used to feel that way about the T-57.
And the EBR 🤠
With wheels better armoured than any tank, and auto aim better than any human 😱
Another possible issue for the E-25 that might've hindered its adoption into the German military was its propaganda value, or lack thereof.
Any chance of an episode on the Krokodil tank destroyer in the E series?
When video about jagdmaus?
The E-series tanks were a true push toward standardized parts and efficiency in logistics but, too little far too late. (Potentially on purpose?)
6:41 Not like they'd mount a recoilless rocket to a Vespa or something. That'd just be weird.
That'd just be French. xD
I imagine it would have been frightening on a completely level surface with plenty of bushes.
And it still has interlaced road wheels. What a hassle.
How can a vehicle be a "failure in reality" when it was never build?
There's some reasons it was never built, and those make it a failure.
They address the front heavy nature in this video
i love the Persona 5 music in the end
i don’t think the machine gun on top of the e25 in wot is a 2cm, but rather the same sort of machine gun in the hull of panzer 3s to tigers beside the driver hatch
Is it so hard to thing one of the of the co protective country would have recovered then and not said anything.
Any good articles detailing suspension used in E-series?

Got to disagree with the comment that Germany entered the war with tank designs superior to most of their oppositions, the four main types of German designed tank fielded by the Wehrmacht in 1939 were, at best, equal to or even slightly inferior to many designs they faced, it was the tactics not the tanks that gave the Germans the advantage over their enemies early in the war.
Every time the e25 went on sale the game became unplayable for two weeks
1940.. Germany did have better doctrine but the equipment was on par with other nations.
The E-series was a theoretical effort on paper by Germany to introduce production engineering. Something the USA and USSR had been doing since the outbreak of war.

80 years some guy on the internet would say "ah, stupid germans made a million of small shitty tanks, they should have built like 10 really big ones"
