Excellent Alan as always you have done a great job on this 3rd instalment of this series. I have really enjoyed it and its been worth the wait. One day I have to get there it looks amazing. Thanks again.
If you did your homework, you would know that 2 different wedding scenes were filmed. The first was at the Palacio, and Bond and Tracy happily motor away in the back seat of Draco's Rolls Drophead. That was done for the press, and was also a ruse so that the real wedding, the one used in the film, shot at the Vinyasa Estate, where the Aston Martin leaves in a hailstorm of flower petals, was kept a secret, as was the ending. At the time of filming in Portugal, which was May 1969, the producers had not decided whether or not they were going to use the ending that was in the book. We all know how that turned out, especially when Lazenby followed some dodgy advice from that Irish bum, so they went with the sad ending. There is an excellent book "The Making of OHMSS" which has all of those details inside. You made an excellent video for a younger audience who don't mind the quick cuts, and only want shallow bits of trivial information. Cheers
Really good video! I found it after watching watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service for the first time, I was curious to see how is the hotel nowadays.
Yeah he had a quote on the cover of the Dusko Popov book. Popov was a bit of a real life 1940’s James Bond character, who once crossed paths with Fleming. I read a book by Ben Macintyre called Double Cross which Popov featured in. His adventures were brilliant.
Yeah, they shot at the building there and close by for Dracos birthday. They had a press day at the hotel, where the crew did some inserts. Hard to tell if any of those were used in the final cut. You can find footage online with George and Diana at the hotel in wedding attire.
Would you visit this Bond location?
I really loved it here and the surrounding areas.
Love this hotel ❤ And Dusko Popov story to add reality to the James Bond story
Yeah it's a great place with a lot of history
Just spent 3 nights there. Absolutely fantastic. You're right about the staff, you do leave with a sigh. I hope I'll return too.
Yeah I have already been thinking about my return!

Thanks Andrew 🙏 happy to hear you enjoy them.
Have another series of videos planned for later this year. With some extra adventures dotted in between.
@@alancarroll007 sounds great Alan always look forward to your posts as they are unique and capture the essence of Bond as I knew it as a young fella.
That really means a lot! There are loads of Bond RUclipsrs out there these days. I’ve always tired to give my videos a unique voice and style.
Great video, now the location is in my bucket list
Thanks for commenting!
Absolutely it’s a great place and a lot to do in the surrounding areas as you probably saw in my others videos.
These have been so excellent, your best videos yet! Thank you so much for making them!
No problem at all, thanks for watching and commenting!

OHMSS, I liked the movie but again no Sir Sean Connery....😕☹😮😧 AHEM. Great video again 👍
Thanks for the compliment 🙏
Yes, The great what if of the series. Would like to know how Sean would have played Bond in this film.
@@alancarroll007 Oh, yeah, what's the little tart you like at breakfast? 🧐😋🧁
Did I see a Graham Greene sighting in the display case? One of my favorite authors and also a British spy during the war I believe!
