Thank you for watching. I noticed in the winter, if your house is cold, the rubber is less flexible and may not have as good of a seal, but just rotate the seal 90 degrees or flip it over and things will seat better.
Thank you for posting exactly the solution I needed! (I bought a generic seal and still leaked i to tank!) I'll be buying the Mansfield seal. Appreciate you taking the time to post this
Hope it works. I had one gasket last for 15 years with no problems and another that leak's occasionally, less in the winter. You can always try flipping the gasket over or rotating it clockwise 90 degrees, so it re- seats.
@@westvalley411 As an update: I replaced the no-name with a Mansfield flush valve seal. Easy-peasy and no leaks whatsoever. Take off the bad seal, put the Mansfield on and reassemble the rest. Perfectly sealed the first time. You made my day/week. Now, wonder if you have a video on the other (black) seals in there that are slowly disintegrating. No drips or leaks, but I suspect the deterioration is from when the wife put clorox bowl cleaner tablets in there to help clean. Nice "clean" if you have to replace all rubber in the tank eventually!
@@tuberussellglad it worked. Yes, here is the link for the fill valve replacement. If the link doesn't work, You can check it out on my channel as well, thank you for watching. ruclips.net/video/fluyXM5l6A0/видео.htmlsi=KXuX1kq0e5wEV7Rt
The problem you're describing is exactly the problem I'm having. My plumber has been here three times and the toilet continues to leak with a generic seal. Thank you so much for your video. I hope it saves me up toilet replacement😊
Thank you have been struggling with this problem. I did get the cheap made seal to work by putting a coat of petroleum jelly on the seal and the plunger but do not expect it to last. Ordering factory original today.
It's possible cold weather also affects seals, they get less responsive to the weight of tower and leak, but can always rotate gasket to adjust...good luck!
Thanks for sharing.
This was my problem also.
I watched this vide.
I got the Mansfield OEM part and problem solved. 😊

Very helpful. It really would have helped though to see the critical action: the gasket install. Suggest someone hold your phone.
Yes true. Thank you, I agree and now I have a tripod and phone holder for tight spaces. I was worried I'd drop phone into tank.
Ah ha, guess that OEM can be beneficial. Thank you!
What if it is not silent after you replace with Mansfield flush value?
After you make sure it is seated in the column lip, you can rotate the valve clockwise by grasping with thumbs and finger. Try about 1/4 turn or 1/2.
