  • In our latest video, we demonstrate the various types of igniting explosives through electrical means such as a battery-powered blasting machine, M57 "clacker" for a Claymore mine, and a battery on its own.

    We are back! Sorry for the short term disappearing act. We had to lay low while we address the status of our channel and also determine which videos need to be removed to avoid further strikes. We still have not gotten proper guidance on what exactly irked YT into yeeting some of our videos. We will be now uploading onto YT as well as Utreon. The stuff on Utreon will be uncensored and also have dedicated videos for the channel.
    Also, sorry for the wind in the video. It was insanely windy. You would have sworn a tornado was spun up by the camera.

      Lots of good information, guys! But one type of detonator that you did not mention is the exploding bridge wire (EBW) detonator. It is without a doubt the safest form of explosives detonator. So, can you please comment about it, and if you have ever used that type? Maybe mention it in a future video? Thanks!

    I bought a disposable camera as a kid, about 25 years ago. I thought; well it's just $5 for these things and there's nothing worth taking a picture of so, I'll take it apart. That capacitor discharged its might through the screwdriver into my hand with so much force, I'll never forget that. Just 9year old me in a room by myself screaming at the top of my lungs while getting electrocuted by a disposal camera. Haha!!

    When I was powder monkey down in the marble mines of Georgia we used the fuse blasting caps to set off the deta chord sit in the right sequence to pull the Rock from the rock face and you had to make sure you made the fuse long enough to be able to get out of the mine before it went off otherwise it blew your eardrums out. The original development of the claymore mine had a heavy metal back plate . I believe the eventual mine used a heavy PVC backplate . Ultimately the more modern claymores use a thicker layer of composite molded during manufacturing.

    • @quinnbrown6382
      @quinnbrown6382 2 года назад +1

      Maybe in the prototypes, but I have demiled claymores form 60 and 61 and there is no metal plate. Just variance in the frag pellets'.

    • @TAR3N
      @TAR3N 2 года назад +1

      @@quinnbrown6382 Canadian or US claymores or Chinese or Russian ? . Also demilled is not exactly a good example. For instance demilled hand grenades like the m26 don’t have the fragmentation coil inside from many suppliers.
      The original patent had the metal plate as well a few countries originally used it. Later replacing it with heavier plastic to limit fragmentation going rearwards and help tamp the sheet explosives better . Though I feel bad for any troops thinking it’s safe to not take cover ( not concealment ) when clacking off a m18 .

    I got to set off a claymore in training. We set up several of carboard targets. I know I was expecting to see them all torn up and destroyed. Instead, we only found couple of pellet hits on each. But to be fair, those couple of pellets could have taken an enemy combatant out of the fight. I really wanted to keep the clacker but they wouldn't let me. I am amazed as how hard it is to find a surplus clacker for sale and how much money they command for something that looks and feels like it should be a happymeal toy.

    Would the more stable high rate discharge profile of a 9V primary lithium battery provide a more consistent output to your blasting machine? Even though quite a bit more expensive than alkaline 9V, they may be a better value (more blasts for the dollar) as they are much better at handling the likely high discharge rate of charging up that capacitor bank.

    Is utreon strictly pay only or is it like YT where you have subs and then also people who "join" the channel by paying a fee?
    Also is utreon available on the Web or App only please? Thank you.

    Will you do a video on improvised blasting caps ie.black powder, fp, something weird like peroxide etc..?

      Not on RUclips they won't. Utreon maybe. You can go read about caps and other energetics on the Science Madness forums.

    I recommend giving Odysee a try, it seems a very good fit for your content. Especially given the antagonistic nature youtube seems to have

    Do you know how to drop suspended car with one electric match ? or hold a car suspended with a few drops 6 drops of water , and as the water vaporises it drops the car. After hours of days.

    Should have taken a few 9v and put them in series off of each other and tested that. How many are needed for an emergency basting detonator

    Hello guys. Just wondering if it's possible to use industrial hydrogen peroxide . As a oxidizer in some explosives ?

    • @theKashConnoisseur
      @theKashConnoisseur 2 года назад +1

      It's certainly possible, but concentrated peroxide brings a whole host of dangerous issues along with it. Let's just say that when process chemists work with 70% peroxide, they wear chain mail gloves and try not to breathe too aggressively towards the substance. However, unconcentrated and there's so much water that it just doesn't do much. In general, the energetics most favored are things that are pretty much inert when in storage, are relatively non toxic for personnel to handle, and only go boom once they are mixed AND everyone is ready. Hydrogen peroxide just doesn't fit the bill very well. I want to say it sees some use in reactive thrusters for spacecraft though.

    Claymores are supposed to have a sturdy backing. This enables the buck shot to go where it is supposed to go, in addition to the curvature. It is true that a true claymore has a steel background. The Us Army let me handle a live one back in the 90's.

    I like wireless detonation. Easy to make using garage door opener circuits.

    • @Subgunman

      Not safe. Good way to get hurt. A decent remote system should have an activation delay timer, an electronic code decoder with a fail safe should the code be entered wrong as well as a fail safe should a predetermined time would have passes without setting off the charge.

    • @dftdbs1010
      @dftdbs1010 5 месяцев назад

      @@Subgunman There is no point in having an activation delay unless you plan on triggering the boom in close proximity to yourself or others which is stupid to begin with. A code is also unnecessary unless you plan on leaving the detonator to an armed boom around for other people to access.
      These are pointless features only suitable for specific situations and they overcomplicate the detonation process. You want practicality and ease of use when it comes to triggers. Safety is important, that is why if you utilize this method, you use two garage door openers in conjunction so one garage door opener arms the other, which then detonates the boom.
