You know, another amazing part about this is that they never happened to lose any dice during the whole movie, as the dices were only things that are not stuck to the magical board game.
Keep in mind they mostly would have the game closed when running from something or just leave the game sitting there. When the earthquake happened I think the game recognizes when its open and might fall or something to it magically sticks the dice on itself like the tokens.
It's probably magic, like they're cursed to to stay close to the game.

In the original script for the movie, Alan was going to be a little hard on Judy. In the script, she had dyslexia and had Peter read the riddles when it was her turn. When it came to this turn, she asked Peter if he could read again for her. Alan interrupted him because he said it's Judy's turn and she should read it. Peter then explains that Judy can't read. Alan says "You're twelve and you can't read?" This causes Judy to cry in embarrassment and Sarah comforts her and she tells Alan to leave Judy alone. Peter then explains to Alan about dyslexia since he never heard of it. Alan then tells Judy to stop crying. Even though she does so, Sarah says that's not going to change her feelings being hurt. Alan tries to show he's sorry by reading the riddle himself.
Judy being dyslectic is supposed to be something she would overcome later in the film when it came to the quicksand scene. The thing only problem with this idea is that her character arc would've been erased since the timeline was reset when the game ended. When Alan ends up working for the shoe company, he makes a pair with the word Jumanji on it and Judy tries to read it.
That was used in the 2005 film Zathura, the character Danny was dyslexic, so that had to read the cards for him.
@@Armieyada I didn’t think that Danny was dyslexic. I just thought that he was at a young at and didn’t learn how to read yet.
It’s a good thing they didn’t go with that plot. I don’t think audiences would like a character that bullies a child with a learning disorder, even one played by Robin Williams.
I'm guessing Robin Williams read the original script and told Joe Johnston "I don't think Judy should be dyslexic. It seems a little out of place for me to pick on someone with a learning disorder. Let's just have everyone read their riddle after they role the dice."
The most hilarious part about this scene wasn't even the stampede. It was the childish argument they were having so faintly in the background before it happened😂

R.I.P. Robin Williams When He Feels a Stampede That’s What Happens when You have to Roll the Dice
His character was stuck in the Jungle World of Jumanji for 26 years. Plus, he did say this to Judy & Peter right before they found & got Sarah to help them finish the game. “I’ve seen things you’ve only seen in your nightmares. Things you can’t even imagine. Things you can’t even see.”

@@romansutton6813 Touche.
Actually, it revealed later in the film the reason he hunts Alan is because he summoned him from his roll. Meaning anyone who rolls out Van Pelt is his target.

It would've been cool if some giraffes, wildebeests, gazelles, and oryxes were in the stampede along with the rhinos, elephants, and zebras.
I agree because these animals are from Africa.
And hippos?
Those would be good inclusions, and probably hippos too.
And all together, that would make the stampede even worse.
Also, with wildebeests, it would've been like in The Lion King.
Although giraffes inside a house, they could barely fit, due to being the tallest at 5m

How does Alan know what a stampede sounds like?
26 Years in Africa.
Well, he has been in the game for 26 years. Plus, he can kinda tell because of the ground shaking and rumbling.
Probably listened closely and heard the sound of big animals running
2:11 YOU PELICAN! THAT BOARD GAME IS NOT LUNCH!
It took a while to realize that the reason Alan is hard on Peter throughout is because he sees a little of himself in Peter, along with some of the same defiance that caused Alan to talk back to his own father for what would be their last time. In addition, as he admits when he apologizes to Peter later, he even notes that 26 years in the jungle still couldn’t stop him from turning into his father (or rather the part of his father he didn't want to carry.) He does however take the right lesson from his dad at the end when he faces his fears. Alan actually takes the right lessons from both Peter and his dad. It's all right to be afraid, but you should face what you're afraid of.
Say the least, Van pelt has no reason to kill Alan if there's nothing offensive about him. After all, Alan did do anything to him.
"Everyone in this town has called me crazy ever since I told the cops that you were sucked into a board game" Being someone who suffered from bullying I truly felt for Sarah at this point.
Sometimes I even thought that she had to suffer far worst than Alan: ok, he got sucked into a nightmarish jungle but at least he didn't had to suffer from the hypocrisy and barbarism of our so called "civil world"!
