Tundra is a good powerful old block V8. Problem with it is that Toyota don’t care to put more R&D to develop it more to compete. They’ll just riding on its badge. Definitely most reliable truck and best resale. If they develop this truck more like they do with their other line up it’s gonna be a killer.
jmasoncar s sadly like Toyota always do with Tundra, that’s probably in the next 3-4 years if they will deliver. Seems like they are just contented on the Detroit 3 scraps. They should come up with diesel too like they have with Hillux
Profits still goes to Japan not America, If given the chance to buy a all American product then Americans should buy it. (some chose not to) That's how we stimulate our country and add more jobs.
Show me a Ford and Ram truck that has a 999,999 miles on it that was used by someone always hauling something. RUclips search the legendary 999,999 tundra from a guy who works in the oil&gas.
@Todd Jones is a difference between what looks better and durability Toyota beat everybody when it comes to durability Dodge beat everybody when it comes to looks I believe Dodge has some of the best looking cars on the road I wouldn't buy one a lot of them are notoriously unreliable the Rams aren't that bad but that Hemi needs a tune up every 33,000 miles for example just food for thought
Darryl Jackson So by your logic, you would pay full price for a 2007 vehicle...Wow just wow, toyota fanboys running out of excuses to bash on domestic pick-ups
Ive owned every brand of truck out there outside of Nissan and went with the Tundra this time around and am 100% happy. Its simple, reliable, and Toyota customer service is absolutely amazing.
The one thing that the Tundra has I wish every manufacturer would do is the whole rear window rolls down that is one feature I love but the rest of the truck is outdated. but if it isn't broke don't fix it I guess is Toyotas saying.
I have had 3 tundra's, a 2003, 2010 and 2013. My 2010 was totalled due a driver who took a red light. What sold me was the crash test done to all 4 trucks, the tundra did not crumble as much as the other three. I preferred the SR5 compared to Limited, Platinum edition I don't need sensors everywhere. My two cents
Just blows my mind that this truck and it’s technology and styling is considered “dated and basic”! How freaking spoiled and vain are we American consumers these days. This is a beautiful truck, built for working. And $48,000 is a LOT of money. That’s another thing that just baffles me, how people spend so much money on a vehicle.
The only reason I would get a truck is to haul a trailer/boat, go off roading regularly and use the bed for a payload. All these other trucks with this german luxury tier tech features will eventually break. I want my truck to be as minimalist as possible, I need it to be reliable. I wouldn't treat it as a pavement queen like a lot of people do. This Tundra seems to be my kind of truck. I could also settle for a base model domestic truck but those tend to never have the more powerful engines as standard. If I am only going to use the truck for commuting like a pavement queen i'd rather get a nice car.
Just purchased my 2018 Toyota Tundra CrewMax with SR5 TRD Off-road package about 2 weeks ago. I’m so in love with it. Just took it out to the mountains for a camping trip n it was a great ride.
Six months after you buy one of the other brands trucks you won’t care about all the other junk they come with. You will however care about how reliable the truck is. This one won’t let you down.
Tundra is strong enough to tow space shuttle. Tundra went 1 million miles on one single engine without being rebuild. Tundra seat fabric didn't even worn-out after 1 million miles. Tundra frame lasted 1 million miles. Tundra cab corners lasted one million miles. Tundra exhaust manifold bolts lasted 1 million miles. Tundra engine lasted 1 million miles without blowing spark plugs. Tundra is the only million miles gas truck without problems. To many people focus on looks and forget that looks are deceiving. To many people call reliability is outdated, and favor issues as advanced technology. I know truth hurts, but it's reality.
The reason I want this truck is not for the tech and luxury, but for the simplicity and durability. The biggest selling feature for me is that it has the Land Cruiser engine.
I've been considering a used truck for a while now and have had my eye on the Ford SVT Raptor with the V8. After watching this review though, I feel like all this generation Tundra would really need to compete with the Raptor is a TRD supercharger and would still retain its reliability while costing a bit less... well worth it imo even when considering how low tech this truck is in comparison to its competitors.
Coming from a 2001 Silverado 1500HD that rode like a mule, my 2017 crew max 4x4 rides and drives so sweet! I love my Tundra just the way it is. The interior is perfect for me. I would love to have the TRD duel exhaust set up or something similar to that.
“The oneeee thing this truck has over the competition is reliability...so if you’re looking for a truck that’s reliable, this is the one for you.” Uhhh...reliability is everything! What good is a broken down vehicle?
Love my tundra, unique on American forces. Stands out more than others because there is a lot of Chevy, ram, and GM not hating I’m just saying. Plus Toyota is barely manufacturing in the US an growing. People hating on the MPG sucks oh well lol I get 9 mpg because I step on it. Love the truck
so 'falling behind' I went out and bought a used 2018 sr5 in may 2020.(I let someone 'run into' my 2006 tundra sr5 and it was totalled, so needed another truck) and with plans to put 400K miles on it, will be driving a dated truck for a very long time. drove the rams, the silverados, the f series. not even close.
I'm Toyota loyal and after becoming so used to the reliability of them, I don't think I'd ever have the balls to get anything else. They do really need to update these though, they're falling so much behind. I won't ever need a full size truck so it's not something I'd ever seriously consider but damn it pains me to see these "new" ones on the road all the time
I just bought my 18 tundra sr5 trd pro. This exact trick only in white. I rolled my 06 f150 and no air bag went off. No tech? This truck has more safety technology then others in the same price range. Plus no other truck has a fully opening rear window.
You're are reviewing a sr5 version with TRD, which is for people who use it for work (better than SR) and camping! If you want leather for daily driver or luxury...there's 4 more packages higher!
After finding out how they went from a V8 to V6 in the new Tundras I’m definitely going to get one of these one day. A big GMC guy but I’ve always had respect for Toyota and their Japanese origin.
So I see a lot of people complaining about the tundra lacking tech., bad fuel economy & dated interior. The question, is the Tundra trying to be a luxury truck? Also, Toyota was just honest with the mpg numbers, other "modern" trucks consume almost same amount of fuel. On the TFL towing test, the tundra did consume just about same as the competition. Tundra doesn't have to be like the competition, it has to be a tundra. Others are only good on paper, modern tech is overly hyped.
All you cry babies saying the truck is outdated, you need to NOT drive a truck. A truck is a man's machine, not a luxury car with all the amenities. I'll take reliability and simpleness over all the fancy electronics and leather seats that will only cause problems down the road. Tundra FTW!
I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra SR5. Just crossed over about 82k miles. I have had zero mechanical issues. Now, the only non mechanical issues I have had... The radio locked up on me 2 times (basically refused to respond to my commands). The first time it happened, I had my music up pretty loud and then knew something was up because I couldn't turn it down lol. Had to pull up and pay for my food with music blasting lol (did this one other time) Only way to reset it was to hit the power button on the unit or turn off and turn on the truck. The other issue, has been my steering wheel. The rubber substance they use on it can wear. I was actually cleaning my steering wheel (using a microfiber and some detailer spray) and the outer rubberish layer tore on the steering wheel so I now have a hole that is starting to spread on that outer layer of the steering wheel (I can put a steering wheel cover on). Other than those 2 issues, I have had zero to complain about. If I DID had to complain about something? The stupid brush guard underneath... It is the HARDEST thing to put back into place when you are finished changing your oil. Also, the oil filter housing... you are supposed to be able to loosen the bottom of it to allow the oil to drain out of the housing before removing it and making a mess. I have never been able to loosen that little plug so yep, I remove the whole thing every time and make a mess lol. Actually replaced it and the same thing happened (first one was from factory). Why they don't use an all in one oil filter like Chevrolet or Ford is crazy. I actually pay more for the filter than the whole housing of a comparable truck (also change oil on an 03 Silverado so I have that to compare to). Summary of all this, I bought this truck because I knew that it may not have all the tech in the world, BUT it will start for me every time, will last for just about forever, and It has great trade-in value on it (it holds better resale value than any other truck brand for good reason).
Most Trucks within this segment has leather interior especially for 50k. Toyota is just way behind. I mean a Ram big horn edition starts at 37k and it at least has a leather-wrapped steering wheel for crying out loud. And at 42k you can get all leather interior, with a 12-inch touchscreen display, with heated seats. The Tundra doesn't even have heated seats at 50k! My mom who has a minivan for about 30k has those. They say that the tundra is for more simple minded people, well they need to have a simple-minded price tag not half of 100k.
The sr5 doesn't cost 50k. It's more of high 30s. The limited and up will get u leather. Platinum n 1794 will get u lexus style soft leather which will be 48k and up. Higher trim f150 cost about 60k?? I don't wanna pay 60k for a truck that runs for 3 years.
Bryce Harris bruh tundra is cheapest truck and most reliable. Fuckign Ford f150 sport costs 55k and doesn't have leather. Don't even get me started on ram, it's the most overpriced pos out there.
Have a 2017 tundra and I agree Toyota has fallen behind the domestic brands on many aspects. However, I would not be a tundra owner for the fact my new 2016 f-150 was a lemon, and Ford had to buy it back 6 months after purchase. Looking forward to 2020 tundra to see what Toyota does with their re-design. Until then I will stick with quality, dependability, and reliability of my current tundra. When the times comes for trade-in or sell I know it will have good value.
Same as the Tacoma. They buy them, and keep them till the wheels fall off. Could not agree more. A 2010 Tacoma Access Cab TRD with 90,000 still gets $18, 000 where I live.
Not happy with my Tundra at the moment. I bought a 2016 SR5 TRD last year used at 38K miles, now figure out it needs a new gas tank due to a sticky roll-over valve which I suspect has been there since the truck was made (results in really frustrating fuel fill ups - slow, slow slow), Toyota is NOT interested in doing anything about it after chasing them several times, basically told me to go away. That will be a couple of grand to replace. I now also have a blow door lock activator on the left rear door -- apparently Toyota has had these issue for years, great another issue. So much for Toyota reliability and support ...
I'd still buy a Tundra because of reliability and great resale value but I hate parking big trucks in So Cal. 4Runners are also long in the tooth too but are selling very well with little price negotiations.
Just bought a 2018 4.6 V8 GST/Gulf States Toyota TSS Off Road. For the price it can not be beat. Less than 35,000 plus tt&l. I installed a set of 4600 Bilsteins and am happy for the value spent. You can buy the TRD Sway Bars and LED lighting. As far as this video......you can get more with another brand at the same price? Find me a Ford/Chevy for under 35k with a V8........never.
I don't think Toyota is targeting the serious worker like Ford, GM and Ram; but for the average homeowner who sometimes tows a small trailer, cares more about hauling mulch and other garden supplies from the big box stores, this truck hits the mark. The 5.7 may not have the same technology as the newer offerings from other manufacturers, but when something works and continues to sell 100k plus units annually, there is no need to spend money delivering lesser performance. The Raptor now has a turbo V6, (and $73k sticker) and I would bet a 5.7 Tundra Sport with the TRD Supercharger will walk away from it. And, with $20k in savings, you can buy a lot of gas.
I had a 2017 f150 screw 5.0 4x4 that had way more tech and better fuel economy. It had 22k on the clock and went to the dealer 3 times for warranty repair work. Guess what? Last week I just bought a 2019 outdated tundra. I don't think anyone has to ask "why"?
Handsome truck. Has reliability. Sound system is the kind of sound a musician would prefer-clean and accurate. You do have to crank it but when you do the speakers generate clean sound and no distortions. I like the F150 3.5ecoboost’s power and handling though.
It’s dated in some aspects but far far far ahead in things like standard safety sense How is the new Silverado any better at all than my 2010 Silverado in anything other than frills as I just can’t see that 4 cylinder turbo having a long low cost life
D Jay T No one said anything about the 1920s. I like how Toyota doesn't take Risks like everyone else. The company puts strong emphasis on quality, reliability and longivity. The late model 4Runner is still using the same V6 engine from the 2003 4Runmer, it doesn't have fancy touch screens and electronic gizmos prone to failure. Most of the fancy electronic garbage in modern cars are useless planned obsolescence. Keep it simple, it will last longer and won't be a money pit!
Good affordable workhorse that will last. That is why people buy a Tundra. And lets look at it this way. In 2025 are people going to look at a new 2018 and be impressed? no. It doesn't make sense to update every 5 or 6 years. When you can offer a lot of new things on a truck then do it. But from year to year most trucks don't offer much more.
My issue with the Tundra is the MPG 13 city 17 highway seems insanely low for 2018 standards. And those are epa so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to get 14mpg combined in the real world
i love tundras especially the space inside the crewmax and it'll last forever for sure but it's a work truck that's why i went for the tacoma for now.... i'll be waiting tundra
As a two time and never again Tundra owner I found-- 1st had bad trans and decided to trade it in for the 2nd Tundra. Both had crappy A/C and seats. 2nd had horribly noisy valve train. 2nd would definitely been a candidate for a frame replacement. Both had way below par fuel mileage. Toyota Quality is where???? Couldn't get my ATV in it w/o wedging it above bed and almost to back window. Little soft in the rear end as well. Easy to see why domestics outsell them by a long shot.
If you want to tell me the interior is outdated I’ll budge a little on that. But that engine is perfect for what a truck is supposed to do, and exterior wise, the Tundra is the best looking pickup on the market. Trust me. The only reason why the American 3 sell more than Toyota is because Toyota doesn’t sell Heavy duty trucks, if they did game over.
This version of the Tundra would have been fine 10 years ago, but compared to everything else on the market in the $48k range I'd be shopping elsewhere... Time for a dramatic refresh Toyota!
Im willing to trade lack of tech for more reliability/resale value. But I just can't accept the absurdly low mpg. Toyota needs to add 2-3 more gears to make this truck competitive with the Ram 1500. 6 gears is just way too inefficient.
Tpr1634 guess it's okay if you plan on paying 10-15 grand more to buy that new 2019 ram 1500 truck. I prefer yo nit pay that much more for sn over loaded vehivke. Who the hell needs cooled send heard seats. When did our society become such wimps? Must nevtge b Generation xers and millennials who cried yo truck manufacturers engineering crying that their rearenfs were either getting too warm of cold! Bunch of wimps. You buy a truck yo do work. If want a family grocery getter go buy a damn SUV or a crossover type 4x4 vehicles.
I don't know about y'all but I've been in cars with plenty of gizmos, after a few days I forget most and revert back to the 3 main ones...radio volume, fan speed and ac on/off. That's it. Gizmos are cool if you dont actually use a truck as a truck. I got in an accident in my 08 tundra and getting my ass back in another tundra. Gizmo-less
People don't realize that Toyota mostly focuses on things that matter the most like the engine, tranny ,all the mechanical ect. And all the other makers do the opposite they invest more money on what you see like a nice interior but lack quality on what matters
Great review. Still a nice truck. Put a red scanner light just above the grill and you have KITT 2018 (Knight Rider) as a Tundra. Hey Pontiac doesn't exist anymore and everyone is going to trucks and SUV's anyway.
The only point I would really disagree with is the handling. While it may not compare to the sedans and sports cars he drives, the Tundra suspension gives a handling edge others don't have. I've seen Tundras and done in my Tundra speed around tight corners that other truck people try to match and have to do emergency braking because they almost roll it. Granted, it does take vehicle familiarity to "unlock" this ability.
I wish Toyota would update the Tundra. I almost bought a 2018 tundra, but considering to get such bad gas mileage compared to the competitors, and it is so dated, I got a 2018 Tacoma.
+DrWeeWe I am averaging 22.7 mpg per tank according to the instrument cluster on my 2017 tacoma. My 21 mile commute is mixed driving with hitting some red lights and a couple stretches were I am at a constant speed of 60 miles per hour and there’s no red lights. Not bad for a naturally aspirated V6 engine. The eco boost in the ford doesn’t get the mpg that’s on the window sticker and not everyone wants a full size truck. I have a small garage and my tacoma fits but a full size won’t fit.
I do agree, the hell with tech. I don’t need it in a truck. I just want a lasting vehicle with no bullshit. I miss my mustang GT, now she was decked out. But I love my truck and hope she last as long as everyone’s Ive seen before.

Dated but the BEST truck out there, period. Built in the good ol' U.S. of A. /salute
theAnalyst it has to be lol ever heard of the chicken tax?
All the parts are not American and the profits go to Japan
Let's not forget the thousands of American jobs being created and the economic stimulus that it creates throughout 'Merica.
Profits still goes to Japan not America, If given the chance to buy a all American product then Americans should buy it. (some chose not to)
That's how we stimulate our country and add more jobs.
It's too bad American cars are subpar.
I like it. Just a simple truck that’ll run forever
Todd Jones FORD
Todd Jones nobody cares😒 it depends on people’s taste and you can’t change that
RAM and Ford will break down much faster than the Toyota!
Tech will get you in trouble they can hate all you want but simplicity is key
you are correct!! lots of computers will get you in trouble in those newer fancy ones!
Outdated or updated! Still better and out last any domestic pickup out there! Toyota Quality, Dependability, and Reliability!
Darryl Jackson my 2016 f150 5.0 v8 eats them 5.7 tundras up
Jermaine Singletary because the coyote is a fucking beast of a motor, while the iForce is a boat anchor
No doubt lol
Darryl Jackson So by your logic, you would pay full price for a 2007 vehicle...Wow just wow, toyota fanboys running out of excuses to bash on domestic pick-ups
Other trucks will be planned obsolescence money pits. Toyota is smart not taking risk.
My ex girlfriend had a Dodge Dakota with a power rear window that rolled down like the Toyotas.
Ill take this tundra over any other pickup.
We don't need those fancy Electronic gizmos. That's what turns cars into money pits. It's called Planned Obsolescence.
I would actually prefer to have the key vice a push button start
They are easier to fix and cost way less
I’ve got 200k+ miles on my 2011 tundra and it’s never had 1 issue. I wouldn’t take another truck over it.
At 200k miles they are just breaking in
Ford and the other American brands are made in Mexico now, Tundra is made in Texas The most American made truck on the market
A Walsh thats false. According to kogod. In order by most american content
F150
Tundra
Ram 1500
Titan
GM 1500 twins
Just purchased my 2018 Toyota Tundra CrewMax with SR5 TRD Off-road package about 2 weeks ago. I’m so in love with it. Just took it out to the mountains for a camping trip n it was a great ride.
My buddy has a Toyota Tundra has 600,0000 miles same engine 2nd transmission
That things is baddass and that v8 sound is amazing👌👌
Tundras I think are for someone who wants a "forever truck". Something you can keep for a VERY VERY LOOOOOOOONG time.
I agree with the "reliability" that will be the biggest factor in my next tuck as someone who keeps vehicles for a long time!
The reason I want this truck is not for the tech and luxury, but for the simplicity and durability. The biggest selling feature for me is that it has the Land Cruiser engine.
One thing that tundras are not falling off at is reliability and that's what really matters when it comes to a work truck
I'd rather have a truck that last than a truck that has constant problems like dodge Chevy or Ford
Toyota is only nameplate that's third-world tested. You won't ever find a RAM, Chevy, or Ford in Somalia, Congo, or Vietnam. Evar!11!
I will still love my Fords and Chevy's, but I have to admit, my 2018 Tundra is the best truck I've ever owned. It's a very trucky truck.
If I become a technician at Toyota one day I will get one of these
“The oneeee thing this truck has over the competition is reliability...so if you’re looking for a truck that’s reliable, this is the one for you.” Uhhh...reliability is everything!
I love my Tundra. Although it’s not a new one, it’s a 2003 with 235000 miles but it still works. I see no reason to buy a new truck.
so 'falling behind' I went out and bought a used 2018 sr5 in may 2020.(I let someone 'run into' my 2006 tundra sr5 and it was totalled, so needed another truck) and with plans to put 400K miles on it, will be driving a dated truck for a very long time. drove the rams, the silverados, the f series. not even close.
october 2022: so glad I have my 2018. much preferred over the new 2022's! guess it's ME who's falling behind?
I would still take this Tundra over any other full size pickup truck in a heart beat. Way to go Toyota.
Drinking game; drink every time matt says “Ya know”
Maud TX 😂
This bothers the crap outta me and make it hard to watch/listen
Or shot everytime he says "here" ya know.
Comment section is always better entertainment than the video in any pickup video.
It might not have the bells and whisles but it has its name its the only truck you can rely on and will never leave u stranded
This is like an iPhone, simple as hell, plain as hell, never changes, pricey as hell... And people will still always buy it because of its quality
No need for major changes. It's the best looking truck in the history of the world.
Just bought a 2020 SR----Love it
I'll never understand how a vehicle can cost 50 THOUSAND dollars and not have a leather interior. Trucks are so overpriced it's ridiculous.
Bryce Harris Qhy would you want leather interior in a work truck. It is meant to be used for work
Bryce Harris bruh tundra is cheapest truck and most reliable. Fuckign Ford f150 sport costs 55k and doesn't have leather. Don't even get me started on ram, it's the most overpriced pos out there.
willjacobsmusic The Toyota Tundra is the best sounding truck out there. They are also the most reliable truck out there.
Carson Cunningham Why did you give F150 a chance to begin with?
That tundra is not outdated is gorgeous
Same as the Tacoma. They buy them, and keep them till the wheels fall off. Could not agree more. A 2010 Tacoma Access Cab TRD with 90,000 still gets $18, 000 where I live.
Toyota's new slogan should be: If its not broken! Dont fix it!
Im actually picking one of these up for a daily driver .. I’ll trade mpg for reliability all day
Next time you should do your acceleration run in tow/haul mode. It feels like a different truck.
I'm ok with the cloth seats, but the steering wheel not being leather wrapped is really nickel and diming. The rest of the truck is very nice!
Handsome truck. Has reliability. Sound system is the kind of sound a musician would prefer-clean and accurate. You do have to crank it but when you do the speakers generate clean sound and no distortions. I like the F150 3.5ecoboost’s power and handling though.
It’s dated in some aspects but far far far ahead in things like standard safety sense
How is the new Silverado any better at all than my 2010 Silverado in anything other than frills as I just can’t see that 4 cylinder turbo having a long low cost life
I think within the next 2 years Toyota will bring out a new design for both the Tundra and Tacoma
Romero Bryan they are the last of the top five to do a redesign
Exactly. Tech turns cars into Money Pits.
Eman 08 so we should have stuck to the old flatbeds from the 1920s?
Who sneezed all over the gauges? :)
My issue with the Tundra is the MPG 13 city 17 highway seems insanely low for 2018 standards. And those are epa so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to get 14mpg combined in the real world
Because this is a naturally aspirated engine.......
11:03 That thing sounds amazing👌👌
i love tundras especially the space inside the crewmax and it'll last forever for sure but it's a work truck that's why i went for the tacoma for now.... i'll be waiting tundra
Michael Cooley try buying a new one
Was this a brand new truck or a very old truck? lmao
Probably bought a old ass truck from operation desert storm
COOL Review: 2018 Toyota Tundra SR5 CrewMax
If you want to tell me the interior is outdated I’ll budge a little on that. But that engine is perfect for what a truck is supposed to do, and exterior wise, the Tundra is the best looking pickup on the market. Trust me. The only reason why the American 3 sell more than Toyota is because Toyota doesn’t sell Heavy duty trucks, if they did game over.
"Cooler headlights"? Nice detailed review... (Those are full LED headlight and fog light's.)
You're welcome.
2005 tundra 280k miles still going strong 2uzfe for the win
This version of the Tundra would have been fine 10 years ago, but compared to everything else on the market in the $48k range I'd be shopping elsewhere... Time for a dramatic refresh Toyota!
Im willing to trade lack of tech for more reliability/resale value. But I just can't accept the absurdly low mpg. Toyota needs to add 2-3 more gears to make this truck competitive with the Ram 1500. 6 gears is just way too inefficient.
This truck looks like it’s from 2007
That's because it is.
While a modern truck with all the Electronic gizmos will be a money pit.
And the 07 tundra will be on the road when the 2020 big threes are in the junk yard.
The new ram just sent the tundra back to the stone ages.
And in 5 years the ram truck will be ready for bone yard.
The new ram is absolutely the worst looking truck I've seen in a while
Tpr1634 guess it's okay if you plan on paying 10-15 grand more to buy that new 2019 ram 1500 truck. I prefer yo nit pay that much more for sn over loaded vehivke. Who the hell needs cooled send heard seats. When did our society become such wimps? Must nevtge b
Generation xers and millennials who cried yo truck manufacturers engineering crying that their rearenfs were either getting too warm of cold! Bunch of wimps. You buy a truck yo do work. If want a family grocery getter go buy a damn SUV or a crossover type 4x4 vehicles.
@@harolddenton6031 🤣🤣😂😁😁🤣🤣
You got a point
@@Joe-629 just wanna add that, his truck will be ready for the boneyard and will be towed by a tundra 😎
48k daaamn over in my state you can get a platinum or the 1794 for that price
Best pickup money can buy. Dont care about bells and whistles. This Tundra is classic and reliable.
Reliability I don’t think I need to say ANYMORE
I don't know about y'all but I've been in cars with plenty of gizmos, after a few days I forget most and revert back to the 3 main ones...radio volume, fan speed and ac on/off. That's it. Gizmos are cool if you dont actually use a truck as a truck. I got in an accident in my 08 tundra and getting my ass back in another tundra. Gizmo-less
Always love your truck reviews! Please keep doing more of them!
16:12 all I needed to know when I decided to purchased mine, everything else is just a luxury
People don't realize that Toyota mostly focuses on things that matter the most like the engine, tranny ,all the mechanical ect. And all the other makers do the opposite they invest more money on what you see like a nice interior but lack quality on what matters
I love my 2015 Tundra CrewMax.
Great review. Still a nice truck. Put a red scanner light just above the grill and you have KITT 2018 (Knight Rider) as a Tundra. Hey Pontiac doesn't exist anymore and everyone is going to trucks and SUV's anyway.
base model non turbo low tech trucks seem to last longer 👍
The only point I would really disagree with is the handling. While it may not compare to the sedans and sports cars he drives, the Tundra suspension gives a handling edge others don't have. I've seen Tundras and done in my Tundra speed around tight corners that other truck people try to match and have to do emergency braking because they almost roll it. Granted, it does take vehicle familiarity to "unlock" this ability.
I wish Toyota would update the Tundra. I almost bought a 2018 tundra, but considering to get such bad gas mileage compared to the competitors, and it is so dated, I got a 2018 Tacoma.
realAdolfHitler to doesn’t the F150 Ecoboost have better mpg than the Tacoma and more powerful?
+DrWeeWe I am averaging 22.7 mpg per tank according to the instrument cluster on my 2017 tacoma. My 21 mile commute is mixed driving with hitting some red lights and a couple stretches were I am at a constant speed of 60 miles per hour and there’s no red lights.
Not bad for a naturally aspirated V6 engine. The eco boost in the ford doesn’t get the mpg that’s on the window sticker and not everyone wants a full size truck. I have a small garage and my tacoma fits but a full size won’t fit.
DrWeeWe really you are comparing Ford to Toyota. The reason Ford F-150 sales are high because you get $10000 off of msrp. Toyota only gives $1000.
I can't get over the gas mileage either on the tundra, not even reasonable.
I do agree, the hell with tech. I don’t need it in a truck. I just want a lasting vehicle with no bullshit. I miss my mustang GT, now she was decked out. But I love my truck and hope she last as long as everyone’s Ive seen before.
