Penn State definitely needs to let those freshman play more and develop on the floor. Depth is an issue because people look tired and slow. Defensively I think the Lady Lions need to switch out their full court press in favor of a quarter court/half court press; they could also switch up the defenses and keep the offense guessing. Right now the Lady Lions don't have enough team make up speed & quickness to recover when the opposition beats their initial defensive trap and advances the ball across the half court. Penn State's opposition are getting way too many easy layups. I'm not too worried about turnovers, just no live ball turnovers that lead to easy buckets. This a young and inexperienced team and turnovers will happen. Lastly, the fundamental drills need to be incorporated into every Lady Lions practice,; each player performing dribbling, passing and layup drills with their left and their right hands under physical pressure. (No Fouls Called.) Fundamentals was the one glaring thing I always felt separated UCONN from other top teams. I look at the Penn State Lady Lions on the scale of greatness.
