  • The 'curb-cut effect' is a phenomenon that is not talked about enough, even though it has been around for decades.
But what is curb-cut effect? And how does it affect (in a positive way) almost every single person in society? Hopefully, if more people understand it, it will allow all of us to open our minds about certain features that we see in society today that, although are not primarily for us, we ended up benefiting from it too.

I am currently working on a research project about the integration of ASL into theatre performance and while I never knew about this topic this is EXACTLY what I have been writing about. I found that while including ASL in performance creates access for d/Deaf audiences it also makes the work itself more meaningful and offers new elements of production that would otherwise not be possible. Thanks for sharing, this is awesome! (also going to access that article now and probably will cite it in my paper!)

This is FANTASTIC! I moderate a Hard of Hearing 'coffee chat' (aka hearing loss support group!) and I can't wait to use this as our topic. Thanks for all your wonderful information.
