I used to live in Forest Park back in the 80's, when I was a kid. I remember the station was just called "Desplaines" back then. The motorman would actually announce the stations, and they would always say "Desplaines...end of the line, end of the line." I really miss Chicago and the L trains.
Yeah, it's honestly funny coming back to this video and seeing the tracks that I used to trek all the time. I never lived in Oak Park but I found something so alluring about the suburb, and I just kept coming back all the time. To think I was only a seventh grader when this video was uploaded is... well, incredible. One day I'll have to ride back up here, just for old times' sake.
