JennBaby1515 I feel sorry what you’ve went through there at the high school I work as a school custodian here in state of Minnesota but yet again I feel sorry for your lost some of your friends and I’m glad your alive.
Yes I am a daughter and niece of a columbine survivor, and I do not have first hand idea of how scary it is but it is so hard to watch and learn about this
I just cried into my coffee while watching this. Beautifully and respectfully done, Adam. Such a sensitive and kind heart you have. You were raised right.
I was in middle school when this happened and it really changed the way school was handled for the rest of my time in school. We started having intruder and lockdown drills at least once a year, if not more often. Though we never took it seriously. It wasn't until my senior year in high school when we got a new French teacher who informed us she was a teacher at Columbine that day and told us about what happened. When we had an intruder drill with her, we all took it seriously because we knew from her how important it was and what it meant to be prepared and safe. I pass that importance onto my own students as I move into the education field, stressing not the fear but the need to be safe and ready.
Same here. I remember right after this happened, my school chose to have one of the school staff members stand outside the entrance doors to our school with one of those handheld metal detectors. It really freaked me out and I was afraid to go to school for a few days after the event.
Same. I was in sixth grade at the time, and was at home sick watching the tv when the Columbine shooting came on. It was chilling to watch live. My earliest memory of watching something so terrifying live as it happened, except for maybe the OJ chase. Totally changed everything for my school too. Everything became Zero Tolerance. Suspensions for bringing nail clippers to school, etc. Destroyed the fabric of our society in a way.
I'm a student at Columbine, wasn't even born when the shooting happened but my science teacher was at the school during the time, first day of school he told us about it. Pretty spooky
Thank you for showing us the memorial. I got choked up a bit when you were reading about each person lost. I will never forget this incident. Such a senseless tragedy.
An exceptionally well scripted and presented episode, Adam! Thank you for the silences and the spaces, and for smiling at the chattering critter that reminds us life goes on.
Awesome job on this one man I was in high school in tennessee at that time. I remember watching it unfold it really made me think about a lot of stuff. Thank You for what you do.
Adam, You made me cry. Thank you for paying your respects to the ones that were lost on that tragic day and not rehashing all the details of what happened. I lost my son eight years ago and I know the parents of those that are gone would truly appreciate you reading the memorials and just remembering their children. I think you did this very well.
I watched this with my 7 year old. Obviously, he didn't know about Columbine, but the prairie dogs got his attention. I said, "Do you know what those are? They're prairie dogs." He looked at me and said, "Adam the Woo's Wild Kingdom!" Such sweet innocence. God bless the people of Columbine.
I live around 2 miles from Columbine High School. I actually drive by it most days and I went to school at the next closest high school at the time Sheridan High School. That day is still something I think about often. As I'm about to move to the Anaheim area at the end of this month I'll be visiting this memorial one last time as I feel compelled to still never forget that anything can happen anywhere and to cherish every moment we have. Thanks for visiting my area of the world and making this video. -Josh
Dramatic image of Adam heading to the memorial with Columbine to his back, a sign pointing the way, with a sad face in the clouds looking down from the sky (to the left at 5:20).
This choked me up... I remember the day clearly!! My sister and I visited the school just after it happened. Their cars still in the parking lot covered in flowers, teddy bears and notes. I remember walking up that hill and seeing the crosses, overlooking the school... I remember a group of teens holding hands in a circle and praying "for the people within earshot" as well as the victims and their families.. Such a SAD day :'(
itsafamily thang Hi, my husband called me at our kids' elementary/middle school after I did a field trip with my son's class that one day. Now we live closer to Columbine than at that time. I too remember ALL the flowers and gifts and crosses and letters at the "immediate aftermath" memorial. Took a lot of pix. THANK YOU, ADAM THE WOO. God Bless & Protect You and all You Love.

One thing that I noticed about this video is how easy it is to get onto the school grounds, you can literally get into the car park next to the school. I know they have security but you'd think after a mass shooting and how well known the school is for a tragic event, you'd think they have it gated
I remember Columbine well. As a victim of bullying throughout junior high and high school, I was able to take my experiences and channel them positively. I got my revenge by living an enjoyable life, free of mundane activities and responsibilities and full of constant fun and enjoyment. I have so much fun every day that I'm constantly laughing. None of the people I grew up with were so lucky. Unfortunately, when you're in the thick of being tortured every day by your peers, a few individuals will resort to violence. I personally swore off violence at age 14 and I haven't raised a hand or a weapon to man, woman, or child since then. No one deserves to be killed for bullying people, but there are probably tens of thousands of people alive today that deserve to have served time in prison for what they did as youngsters. Until justice is served for these people, school shootings will continue to occur.
@Jason Bouphasavanh hey, whilst I agree with you that guy should deal with his past, and not play the victim card publicly, nor do I like his attitude that school shootings will continue to accure, I can't say I agree with anything else you've posted. How the fuck is he supposed to change how he looks, and also, make himself cooler? Seriously, kinda a fucked response to make!
I know this was years ago when you did the vlog, but I remember where I was. I was working at a brokerage firm and we had the news on on one of our TV's and I could not believe what I as seeing as students were running out of the school. Adam, thank you so much for the love and respect you showed during this vlog. ❤
i think your dad inplaced a special peace of his heart because how can you have so much fillings about things the softnest that you display touchs me in a way that make me fill a filling i normally dont fill or let in thanks i needed that you showed me this filling more then once
Thank you so much for doing such a respectful vlog Adam, my family just moved to Colorado when this happened and I remember being scared to go to school. Many tears were shed during this video
Morning Adam! I can remember the horrible day off 1999 from here in UK. My prays go out to the Victims and there familys. God bless them, and United States of America. And I enjoy watching your Vlogs everyday.
I remember this event well--I was in college and remember seeing it on the news and being afraid. Over the years I got to meet survivors through their speaking engagements. I've read the book on it by Dave Cullen--very good read. Thank you for taking us there. On a less somber note, yay for finding sunglasses!
Man, after I watched this-I went back and watched the old footage and documentaries. I was in college back then. I can't believe it's been 17 years. It's a good reminder to be kind to everyone.
I'll remember that day for the rest of my life. I remember my last class at school, walking home and turning in the tv to that. You did a very good job being respectful, imo
Thanks for this one Adam! Welcome back Denver by the way. I recall this day well, two co workers were at each other. One lost a nephew, and one defended the two shooters as they were friends of her kids. Was sad to watch that go down in the wake of it all. Sadly we had a second shooting not to far down the road from us in bailey. It really makes you worry about your kids when they go to school. No where is safe anymore. As always, thanks for putting the vlogs up for all of us to watch.
that was really cool, taking the time to read to us from the memorial. you are such an incredible gentle soul, that it what sets you apart from so many other vloggers. I hope that never changes.
The little fellow was so talkative because he was warning his other pals about your presence and probably telling you if you stepped closer he would have to maul you in the face.
Hey there, yeah, I have to admit that part with the small animal seemed quite obvious actually. Personally, I would have backed away pretty well immediately apon seeing that behaviour. However, it's possible that Adam was indeed quite affected by where he actually was, and what he'd just seen, that he needed to immerse himself in something seemingly innocent, which is REALLY understandable to be honest.
I too watched it unfold on my TV at work and then at home. Sadness for the families of the kids who did not return home that day. Be safe out there Adam.
I know the feeling of finally going there. I did that in 2004. I’m an ‘81. A couple weeks ago on the 25th anniversary I got an opportunity to go inside the school. Man… the chills. It’s like hollowed ground. They were having a memorial concert in the auditorium. I couldn’t believe I was actually there. I kept staring at the metal railing that goes upstairs. It’s still the same. There were a lot of young people there who were performing that night in the Columbine choir and band. I’m glad they weren’t born then and can walk around without the feelings I get. There’s always been prairie dogs at Clement park. In other areas around Denver that aren’t condo projects etc, prairie dogs are common. I had not been to the actual school since maybe 2011. It never feels very welcoming since it seems like anyone could he watching you through the windows. Even on the weekend. I wouldn’t dare go there on a school day. They might be nice like they were to you but they honestly don’t like random people wandering around.
I live in Jefferson County and have never visited this site. I'm very sensitive to places of tragedy and feel things a little too deeply. thank you for making this video so that I could pay my respects vicariously. I don't know how long you'll be in Colorado, but we have a Star Wars exhibit coming to the art museum later this month featuring real stuff from the films. it will be up through 2017 so if not this month, you can stop by whenever.
Very respectful video, Thanks for sharing Adam! This was very interesting as I to remember that sad day, and have followed all the news coverage, it was so nice to see the memorial and how honorable it is...this also brought tears to my eyes...
Adam, thank you for doing this well done tribute. I really appreciate how you read each of their memorials. My grandson is a sophomore in high school where they do lock down drills. The shootings at Georgia Tech happened in April 2007 only 9 years ago. Georgia Tech is located about an hour from us and had a big impact on our area. Hard to believe that 33 were killed that day. Columbine reminds me so much of what happened at Virginia Tech.
this gave me such shivers. sometimes after watching countless documentaries of an event it begins to feel a little distant and you forget it was not just a story but an /event/. you really hit home with that point- this wasn't just a story- it's an event.
I was at home with my 6 month old son watching it happen on the news. I couldn't stop crying and since then, I've watched multiple documentaries and read a lot about that day. The story of Rachel Scott is the one that touched me the most. Thanks for doing this video with so much respect and reverence to the day.
Some people look at 4/20 as a good day for certain reasons i won't go into-in actuality quite a bit of bad things have happened throughout history on that day.
Whump tapus That plus several other bad things have happened on or around 4/20. Deepwater Horizon oil well explosion, Waco siege and the Oklahoma City Bombing to name a few.
Adam, I'm honored for you to go out of your way to the memorial. As you read each name, you brought them to life that made me feel they were alive once again. Thank you!
Adam, I am touched and so proud of the way you approached the subject of today's vlog, with dignity and respect. God bless you and keep you safe in your travels.
I cannot thank you enough for bringing us there. I didn't even know that was there. What a great video Adam. Puts life into perspective and focus. Thank you 😊!
I cannot imagine those students still having to go to school in that building where such a tragedy happened. It would haunt me going to class every day
Adam, your respect and compassion for the students and families who suffered so much on that terrible, terrible day, was yet another example of why I appreciate what you do. You are, my friend, a bright light in a world that often goes too dark.
That hit me right in the "feels" Adam (The teacher's quote at the end made me even shed a tear or two). I remember the day after more I was still in High school at the time but even though my school was in Florida everyone who was in school the day after that event was still in shock that it could and did happen. Most got paranoid of other students who were wearing trench coats to school (because this was in April much of the cooler weather was gone replaced by being hot, it didn't make sense to most why they were wearing them. So, they jumped to the conclusion that they might be in the trench coat mafia.) Others (like me) started to wonder what they could do if it did happen and topics like that (It was kinda scary to think about, since I used to hang out nearly every lunch period in the Library on our own campus). But all were for the most part sadden by the tragic event. As I got older and a few more of these popped up I did more research into these types of events to try and get closure on it I guess. It kinda of helped but mostly made for more questions like "What can we do to keep this from happening again and again?" Most people don't have answers to these types of questions, I don't really think we will have just one easy "fix" to this problem but many.
I just wanted to say this is awesome of you to do! I graduated from Columbine a few years ago and it's rare to see videos on RUclips of people actually paying their respects to the 13 that were lost! I'm a definite subscriber to you sir! Thank you!
I was in high school myself. I remember seeing the coverage of the shooting when I got home from school. I was impacted in a non direct way, knowing some one who knew Rachel Scott, being the person who broke the news that she was among those killed. Forever changed me. I heard Craig’s story of survival in the months after. Never have forgotten this day.
Adam this was one of the best vlogs I have seen you do. I have to admit, through tears, that I could see it all just like the day it happened. I was in high school myself when then. You are so right about the fact that we forget the names and those who were lost in a tragedy. Thank You for making us all remember these kids and this hero of a teacher again. I am going to share this vlog because everybody needs to see it. Keep it up man! God Bless You!
I was only 9 when Columbine happened but I remember the fallout vividly. I went to a small, private christian school and I can remember having a candlelight vigil for the columbine students, and a book i used to read all the time was "Rachels Tears", it was written by the parents of Rachel Scott using some of her journal entries. At 9 years old I realized the true pain and loss that these people went through, seems every generation loses their innocence earlier and earlier. Great video Adam, a nice way to pay your respects.
I remember the Columbine incident. Really sad. Thank you for showing us the memorial and sharing excerpts from each persons marker. : ( On a lighter note, I'm glad you found your glasses though! : ) Keep up the Majestic festooning!
Thank you so much for doing this. I have lived in colorado my whole and I remember the day this terrible tragedy happend. My mom took me and my brother to lay flowers in the makeshift memorial the had in the school parking lot. Never forget.
"Mostly, I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world every day. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head, all the time... Can you understand?" - John Coffey
Man. I didn't expect it, but watching this really hit me somewhere deep in the heart. I was only 7 years old when it happened, but I've also watched all the documentaries and studied this story immensely. It's very close to my heart, and for some reason seeing sort of a first person point of view video walking around and looking at the place made me cry a bit. Especially the part where you read excerpts from their memorial. It's awesome to see you humbly pay your respects to them, Adam. I hope to be able to travel there to do the same someday.
I remember hearing about the shooting first on the bus ride home from school. It was my senior year, so I didn't experience the full effects in the years since, but the mood around school was different. I'm sure behind the scenes they had to make changes to our graduation since our class size was over 800.
I was there the day after...in 1999. (Manitou Springs, Co. class of 99) my friend and I made a huge banner, when we arrived...many people had done the same thing. So tragic, but to see so many come together. Thank you for visiting, that view up on the hill gave me chills.
I have never teared up watching one of your vlogs ...until today. I am glad you were so respectful to the school and the victims of this tragedy. It was very appropriate that you honored the victims by sharing who they were and something about them. You are right...sometimes a event can overshadow those involved.
hard to believe it has been 17 years already. i was a junior in high school when this happened. i think everyones school changed that day. such a sad and senseless loss of life. unfortunately it isn't getting any better as the days go by in this tough old world. i want to thank you adam for all the vlogs you do. every morning my son and i watch your vlog and for those 12 or so minutes all the troubles of the world disappear.
I am a columbine survivor. Thank you for being respectful. This video was hard but amazing. Thanks Adam
JennBaby1515 I feel sorry what you’ve went through there at the high school I work as a school custodian here in state of Minnesota but yet again I feel sorry for your lost some of your friends and I’m glad your alive.
Jeff Carroll what other choice would you have except for running for your life?
Jeff Carroll imagine saying this
Yes I am a daughter and niece of a columbine survivor, and I do not have first hand idea of how scary it is but it is so hard to watch and learn about this
No you aren’t
I just cried into my coffee while watching this. Beautifully and respectfully done, Adam. Such a sensitive and kind heart you have. You were raised right.
JustNess78 gross?
Hard to believe that it's been 17 years. I'm sure it feels like yesterday to the families.
Time moves on so quickly thats for sure
That time moves quickly is true,... but good can come just as fast in that very time....Wondrous....
adamthewoo It sure does my friend and that is why you have to enjoy life to the fullest.
Man....I was 32 when that happened and yet it seems like only yesterday.
So true
You have a big heart Adam. Not many people would do a vlog like that, that way.
Edward Berry very touching vlog.

Prairie dogs. They are cute!
Angela Winters And how does one attain a prairie dog? I'm asking for a friend.
I also think hedgehogs are cool too.
GAM3 OVER I had a hedgehog, I still miss the little guy. He didn't like me much (he was adopted) but they're sweet, adorable little creatures.
Ashley Are they easy to take care of?

Sorry for your loss. Thank you for the comment
Well said. I lost my 16 year old in July of 1999. Not a good year. :(
Going Slightly Mad so sorry for your loss
sorry about ur son :(
sorry to hear that
Those Prairie Dogs were super cool. Thanks for this touching video Adam. I had never seen that memorial before.
They popped in at the right time, needed a good smile
That part was SO cute!

Cute!
I watched it all unfold on TV, as well. Thank you, Adam! What a beautiful memorial. Brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you for your respectful video. The sad thing is that many, in the human race, have not learned a darn thing from this.
Thank you so much for your judgmental insight to my life. If you think that badly of Adam then why are you here.
Ian McPherson it was a gvt hoax what is there to learn
Like what ?
Ares Columbine was NOT a hoax. That’s pretty insensitive to say

Hmm... I do wish he mentioned them. They went through a lot of pain to pull of such a horrible act. Society was the only one to blame for this.
that was really cool, taking the time to read to us from the memorial. you are such an incredible gentle soul, that it what sets you apart from so many other vloggers.
Be safe out there Adam.
i was a part of this and it brings back so many memories watching this video. thank you woo!
Respect to you that you still manage to live with this experience 👍
Nancy Kellum 13, 33 dead all Masonic occult numbers ...these were blood sacrifices
Nicely done Adam. Very respectful and just well done. Telling about each person at the memorial was touching and really brought on the emotion.
So respectfully and tastefully done
this gave me such shivers. sometimes after watching countless documentaries of an event it begins to feel a little distant and you forget it was not just a story but an /event/. you really hit home with that point- this wasn't just a story- it's an event.
Rip to those killed that day
When you were reading about the students, I shed a few tears. Brought me back to that day. Thanks for sharing.
Awsome Vlog Adam, as a tear rolls down my face
Thanks Adam for presenting this. You did it in the most respectful way.
Love this channel. Thanks for the uploads xx love from the uk xx
Excellent but sad video Adam. Thanks for respecting those who were lost on that tragic day so beautifully.
Well done Woo.
I was at home with my 6 month old son watching it happen on the news. I couldn't stop crying and since then, I've watched multiple documentaries and read a lot about that day. The story of Rachel Scott is the one that touched me the most. Thanks for doing this video with so much respect and reverence to the day.
Some people look at 4/20 as a good day for certain reasons i won't go into-in actuality quite a bit of bad things have happened throughout history on that day.
zudemaster, You mean like the birth of Hitler?
Whump tapus
That plus several other bad things have happened on or around 4/20. Deepwater Horizon oil well explosion, Waco siege and the Oklahoma City Bombing to name a few.
zudemaster also mother 2 release
+zudemaster OKC and Waco were on April 19
Because it is National Weed day for some
Adam, I'm honored for you to go out of your way to the memorial.
I remember this day very well! I remember watching this video when Adam released it.. it brought back the memories of that day. Very surreal day!
I cannot imagine those students still having to go to school in that building where such a tragedy happened. It would haunt me going to class every day
It should be permanently destroyed
@@James-th7wb You should never destroy history
I'm glad that you took the time to honor the ones that were killed. I think you did it in a very respectful way. Good job Adam!
The Families know we will remember the good, kind and real people and forget the evil.
Respect is never out of style, Send love Adam.
"Mostly, I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world every day. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head, all the time... Can you understand?"
- John Coffey
One of my dad's friends knew the teacher that died. Misty eyed. Adam the Woo's Wild Kingdom.
Wow, from what I researched he was a true hero, putting his life in danger to save the kids
It was refreshing to hear and remember the victims. Great job
You did right Adam with this vlog and may we all not forget this and others that had happened.
I remember hearing about the shooting first on the bus ride home from school. It was my senior year, so I didn't experience the full effects in the years since, but the mood around school was different. I'm sure behind the scenes they had to make changes to our graduation since our class size was over 800.
I was there the day after...in 1999.
(Manitou Springs, Co. class of 99)
my friend and I made a huge banner, when we arrived...many people had done the same thing.
So tragic, but to see so many come together.
Thank you for visiting, that view up on the hill gave me chills.
Those prairie dogs were cool........and looked like they wanted some coffee cake
I have never teared up watching one of your vlogs ...until today. I am glad you were so respectful to the school and the victims of this tragedy. It was very appropriate that you honored the victims by sharing who they were and something about them. You are right...sometimes a event can overshadow those involved.
Whoa that was a rough video! Great job man!
Thankyou for this video, especially reading the memorial. It was very respectful.
hard to believe it has been 17 years already. i was a junior in high school when this happened. i think everyones school changed that day. such a sad and senseless loss of life. unfortunately it isn't getting any better as the days go by in this tough old world.
i want to thank you adam for all the vlogs you do. every morning my son and i watch your vlog and for those 12 or so minutes all the troubles of the world disappear.
YOU ARE A VERY HEARTFILLED GUY THANK YOU SIR ADAM YOU GIVE ME HOPE
No politics,no exploitation,just a calm,respectful presentation. Very nice.
