Elizabeth Montgomery & Eileen Heckart were fine actresses. Elizabeth Montgomery was more versatile than just playing Samantha on Bewitched. Eileen Heckart was so good in many movies!
Excellent movie, an acting marathon with Elizabeth Montgomery with striking close ups of her included, boy those days ... we were so happy, thanks God we knew it.
The 70’s movies were often slow, creepy, but not slashers or so many jump scares. Back in the day when you relaxed and watched what was on tv, rather than constantly on electronics or paying $19.99 for a movie on demand. 😂
I liked the movie, but the ending music and credits are not shown, and you have to figure out the abrupt ending - which isn't hard to do. Suspense and Elizabeth Montgomery is good in it. Love the fashions from that time.
Frame # 10:45 - Liz is driving one of the rarest Bentleys. It's a Mulliner Park Ward Bentley SIII Flying Spur 4-door saloon. In real life Liz drove a 1977 Bentley T2 4-door saloon with a vanity plate that read: "BENTLIZ".
I tried, I really did! The only "mystery" here is how this movie was sanctioned, with it's limited script: "Susan?...Susan.....Susan!" interspersed with "Miaow, miaow, miaow".
56:33 Ben didn't see Katherine's car right there in front of the house? Why was he surprised to see her? And Katherine didn't notice that for a man who walked two miles in wet mud, his pants and shoes have no mud on them? I would be so lucky to have a sister like Kate and a friend like Ms Jordan. But I would be doomed anyway to be married to someone like Ben who had a Hawk to take care of his business!
And how did people ever survive without cellphones back in those ancient times? There was actually a payphone booth at that gas station. I stopped at that Peninsula Station back in '68.
Reading the comments, it seems that people need a Hercule Poirot to gather all the characters in one place and reveal who the murderer is, why and how he did it, and who helped him. I liked the movie although I agree that the ending could have been better.
Yes, they certainly did cut off an essential part at the end. But why did she have to pin that guy against the tree with the car? She could have just wiggled her nose and taken him out of action.
oh geeze- never ever ever ever get married and live in someone else's house!! Either your name gets on the house equally - or NO marriage and NO living together. Why do people sell themselves out!
Hello everyone, I was just going to watch it, but if there's any ending, I shan't bother. Also, I wish you all a * Merry Christmas . Take care on the roads, too, please 🙏
Very disappointed how can they aired this movie three quarters of it is missing. Who kill her sister, who moved her body, did the husband died,no investigation?😮😢😮 disappointed. disappointed
It seems that the housekeeper had come right after the husband had killed his wife in the beginning of the movie. This is plausible because she didn't take orders from his wife when she had sacked her the day before. This way the housekeeper knew that the husband had killed his wife, and she helped him clean up the mess. The housekeeper comes back at the ending of the movie trying to stop him from going after the sister, (there being no point anymore), as she has learned that Mrs. Jordan (whom the sister spoke with on the phone earlier) had gone to the police. She came to warn him, as she knew that his wife's body was hidden in the car. Liz was not arrested. She couldn't be a suspect as she had been in San Francisco at the time of her sister's murder, and she had no motive either.
The producers ran out of money to shoot the last scene where everything is explained. But according to the scripts the ending is very weird. The brunette sister is not dead. she's just stuck in traffic. And when she's back she's just appalled at the chaos blaming Samantha the Witch (Elizabeth Montgommery) for the mayhem.
@@erasingtheuigours5560 The ending is available here on RUclips if you search for it. There's also some text in the last scene saying what happened to who.

That was the problem with the early “talkies”. The actors over acted, and made every scene melodramatic. I’m still trying to decide if this is worth finishing.

Giant plot hole: ✔️ More than half of the comments say not to bother watching it, and that it cuts off abruptly. You just told the story (probably better than the movie does). I think I’ll look for something else. I do like Elizabeth Montgomery, though.
The IMDB reviews mention the abrupt ending, and IMDB shows a run time of 73 minutes. It just ends abruptly. It was one of those tv movies of the week, which were either hit or miss in quality.
Known as The Victim (and Out of contention) it had an ending which stated what happened as if based on a real event. Now, the script itself was adapted from a short story called The Storm by McKnight Malmar, so go figure.

Elizabeth was a great actress , her voice was so soft and warm
I love these rainy night, one person at home horror movies!
This movie is on other stations without ads. Elizabeth Montgomery is in another TV movie the Legend of Lizzie Borden 1975 with a good cast.
