Quick tip about the long scales is that anytime you hear that guy that was talking to you in the treasure room you know that an optional boss fight is close by ( There is one in. Chapter 1 you can go verse now that you have this item). There are multiple times you hear his voice
4:21 it is true that certain bosses basically insta-break the immobilize upon being hit based on an animation but some also can break out of it very fast, those ones...the spell acts more as a quick breather to heal rather than attack oh and whoever told you to set the bear on fire...you should never try that, it pushes him into phase 2 earlier making him harder also...if you're low on health after beating a spirit, you can use up all your gourd...then collect the spirit and it refills your gourd
Great video! Quick tip. Those floating green spirits refill your gord! The number of little green sprites floating indicates how many gord drinks it fills. And blue ones always completely fill it. Good for toping up your health as you explore!
not gonna spoil much but you can use the loong scales to dispel waterfalls that hide secret bosses, theres one in the chapter one forest near where the frog was and one in the desert area above some stairs (i believe near the rockrest flat shrine near the stone vanguard arena) , if you beat the boss of both those areas you unlock and can craft a pretty baller later-game staff with the key items they drop
You should try to return to the place with the locked giant door and head to the right across the bridge. Make sure you find the rest of Buddha's eye balls on that path because you can use them in the arena of the stone golem to summon a secret boss. You will also come across a sand water fall that you can use the loong scales to get to another boss arena. Make sure you find the drunken pig for an amazing side quest for really good loot.
The key item long scales that you got after defeating the rat king can give you a new staff. But you have to use that secret item to get to two secret bosses. Then you have to get the materials for the staff by deafening another boss.
Always a blast to watch you work. Btw, that crack at 15:40 is actually a secret -- if you hadn't led the boss (accidentally) to do a heavy attack on the wall, it wouldn't have been there.
Couple quick tips: I haven't heard you comment on it, so in case you haven't noticed, any time you absorb a soul (either the little green Will ones or the blue/purple spirit ones), you refill some of your gourd. For your fire transformation (Red Tides), your heavy attack is determined by your dodge before hitting it: if focus bar isn't full, you get straight dashes, focus + rear dodge is jump and fly toward the target, focus + side dodge is a spinning attack, focus + forward dodge is an overhead pole attack. With Celestial medicines, the mind cores are refundable like your sparks, but it does still cost will to make new medicine with them. Good luck with the rest of the chapter. You've probably explored about half of it but you'll probably defeat the chapter boss without realizing it.
You can get mana back with a gourd down the line but also by upgrading the stone spell and immobilize it’s not much mana but you can probably make a good build and there’s always the infinite mana glitch
Just because there are small areas off the path does not mean that it's not linear. If you can leave the games path and find a room but the only way to continue the story is by leaving said room and back on that path, the games world is linear. I highly doubt there are many bosses in this game that are on the path you can just skip. Like in Elden Ring for example: Godfrey, Morgott, Fire Giant, Godskin Duo, Maliketh, Gideon, and Radagon/Elden beast are the only mandatory bosses you can skip every other boss in the game and still be able to finish the game. Sure you will miss a lot of fun boss fights and story elements but it's a completely viable option to finish the game. Also linear doesn't just refer to the world in a game, it can also refer to the games story, which is what I believe what most of the reviews of this game are talking about when they mention the game being linear. Linear isn't bad word, it's just a description of how the games world and or story is laid out. There is nothing wrong with games being linear and I wish people would stop picking that one word to take issue with whenever they read a review. Or better yet stop using the word to try to bring negativity to a game. I would honestly bet a year's salary that 90% of the greatest games ever made are linear. Every Zelda game, every Mario game, every Doom game, every Wolfenstein game, every Bioshock game, every Far Cry, every Metro, every God of War, every Gears of War, every Dead Space game, every Metal Gear, every single Final Fantasy, I could do this for hours it feels like. They all have linear components to them weather it's through world design or storytelling. It's so incredibly rare for a game to be completely open with its world and storytelling, and for them to both be good. Like what there's FO:NV and Kingdom Come: Deliverance absolutely nail having a fun interactive world that also you are allowed to change the story to how you are playing and ends up being actually satisfying? Anyway, this game does look like it's fun, I'm having a good time watching people play it. I personally won't play it because there are too many games in 2025 that I'm already looking forward to.

I've just 100% the game and got all steam achievements so I'm looking for some playthrough to binge watch. So far your series has been my favorite.
I appreciate the hard work making a longer episode! Been going back watching your other play through as well! Keep up the great work.

Apparently, you can open that using the Wight headbutt attack as well.
Hurry up and upload the next one! You got me waiting in anticipation 😅
I’m working on it. This level is a lot bigger than I thought, probably gonna be another long one from what I can tell so far 😅
Love the longer episode and your vids in general. Keep up the good shit man!!
Make sure to find the boar before beating the chapter boss
You can do it!

I hope you had a great drink man

Ight i finished watching the whole game so now i can watch your playthrough
Keep it up bud
You can sell the gold at the shop at every shrine they work like golden runes
Also I good idea to explore some of the areas you have been to as you have a quest item in your inventory that requires you to do three things with
You can spend sparks from your inventory without going to a shrine btw
Legacy gaming covers all the secrets for each chapter pretty well
They miss so much though. What they do talk about is great but he misses 30% of the game
that wolf is floating in the air

Yo!
The golden Buddha eyes are used to activate a boss in a boss room you have been to
You literally made me realize what they are for. THANK YOU!
Glad that helped you out 😂
Idk which attack it is, but it kinda looks like the pole stance, but if you use that attack during the transformation it does crazy amounts of damage
Been loving the content but Im curious, who's your favorite character from Journey to the west? Mine's Pigsy otherwise known as Zhu Bajie.
Wukong. I don't know if it's the translation I read or if it's actually this way but he was so silly I couldn't get enough of him
