    I just bought one of yesterday, it was ex-demo so no instruction manual or charger, but I really wanted one so took it as-is. I rang Micro and they're sending me a charger today. I rode the scooter home and it was smooth and fun to ride once I got the hang of gently using the throttle button. This video is great! I was a bit confused as to how some of the functions worked, so I'm fine without a manual now.
    Have to say I'm very pleased indeed with Micro's customer service.

    I think the Merlin looks amazing. Being a massive fan of Micro Scooters (we've had them since our eldest was 2yo and now have a family collection of them) I k now how well they are built and how well they last so I'm sure this one will be a winner. Great presenting as well Neil, you explained everything really clearly. 👍

    I have just bought one. I am really happy. The only issue, I am unable to fold it, even with all my weight on the blue button.

      I've just received the scooter and right now I'm trying my absolute hardest to fold this thing with shoes on and it's impossible.
      EDIT: I've since got the hang of it, and once you do it's very easy.
      My advice is to:
      A) Make sure it's fully clicked into place upright
      B) Most importantly: stand behind the scooter as shown at 11:50, and APPLY FORCE towards your body on the handlebars. More than you might think, go for it.
      Once you get the hang of it, it's simple.
      It's a great scooter.

    I bought it and it is very good, the only negative point is the blue button to fold the Merlin which is frankly not practical, with soft sneakers it is a real hassle to fold ! 😤
    And a crutch is also more practical than this inclined seminar mode. But in terms of autonomy and driving comfort, it is the best on the market.
    ✌🏽🤙🏽

    Hi there!
    I read, that the maximum load weight of this Scooter is 100kg.
    My weight is about 110kg, with all my daily backpack and stuff. Is it dangerous to drive this scooter, when the weight limit is exceeded by these 10kg?
    Thank for your reply!

    As a big e-micro fan, I bought a e-micro ONE (Mark 1) in 2016 as one of the first customers. As batteries deteriorate naturally, it now doesn't hold any electricity anymore. When I wanted to have my scooter serviced and the battery renewed recently, I've been told the battery can't be exchanged and my £750 e-scooter is therefore now effectively completely worthless. I am really disappointed, as I always had micro products and was a big fan - but now I feel totally conned by being sold the e-micro ONE as one of the first customers - and even being punished for being an early adopter.
    Before I make the same mistake again I want to know if the battery can be changed in this Merlin model and if yes, how much such a battery exchange would cost. Thanks!

      @microscooters  5 лет назад

      Christoph, firstly thank you for being a supporter of Micro. We really do appreciate you coming on the journey with us. As an early adopter you know just how quickly the escooter market is moving. The emicro one was our first electric scooter for adults. Since then technology has improved and therefore we have introduced newer electric scooters for adults. We offer a 2 year warranty on our electric scooters - by far the longest and most comprehensive in the market. A lot of other escooter manufacturers (especially those from China) offer no after care at all. Unfortunately because things have moved on the batteries for the first emicro one are no longer in production.
      In answer to your question, yes we will be holding spare parts for our new electric scooters for at least 2 years. But please be clear we do not think it appropriate for batteries to be changed without the help/direction of our experienced electric scooter mechanics (who are all based in the UK). If a spare part is required within the warranty period then this would be done free of charge (excluding delivery to our service centre). If a spare part is required outside of the 2 year guarantee then we will do our very best to help you at a reasonable charge. Im sorry you haven't had a good experience on this occasion we will be in touch with you directly to make sure your faith and goodwill is restored in us.

      Micro Scooters Ltd thanks for your reply! Please, please PLEASE don’t tell me it is more economical to buy a brand new £400 Chinese scooter every 2 years (that has a chance to last longer) than to buy an £800 emicro (that is likely to be useless after 2+ years - which has happened to me). My belief in your values would be shattered! :(

    • @microscooters
      @microscooters  5 лет назад +1

      @@cburgdorfer We can triple promise you it is NOT more economical to buy a poorly made Chinese scooter (did you see the latest Xiaomi recall news.sky.com/story/xiaomi-recalls-7-800-electric-scooters-in-uk-due-to-loose-screws-11737046) then a exquisitely made Micro scooter. Unlike other we have a UK based after care team who have access to replacement parts as well as extensive tech knowhow who will help you if anything were to go wrong. As promised we will be in touch (if we haven't already) to make sure your faith and value in Micro holds fast.

    Hi Micro,
    When going downhill while on pedestrian mode, will the scooter try to hold itself to 6km/h or will I have to be braking intensively to keep a slow speed? Thanks, love the design

    • @microscooters
      @microscooters  5 лет назад

      Hi @papashanti thanks for getting in touch and your lovely comment about our design. In answer to your question: in a downhill situation, the braking has to be regulated by the rider. The mode selection speed is based on a level surface and when the speed is reached, the motor simply stops delivering power, regardless of throttle setting. I hope that helps. thanks

      Micro Scooters Ltd hey thanks! By the way, what is the IP classification of the scooter? Haven’t found it anywhere. Don’t plan to drive it in rain or slippery road but want to know what level of care should I follow

    • @microscooters
      @microscooters  5 лет назад

      @@papashanti Hi, the Merlin is tested to EN60335-1:2012 + A11: 2014 + A13 :2017 and EN62233 :2008.
      Rated at IPX4.
      The Merlin shouldnt be ridden in the wet nor left in standing water as this could affect the electronics in the board. Did you know we offer a try before you buy scheme? It means you can have a Merlin to use for 14 days to see if you like it. All you need to do is pay postage costs. Find out more at Micro Scooters - Try before you buy.

      We are sorry you feel that way Andreas. However we are extremely proud of our Merlin electric scooter. At Micro we are renowned for our impeccable Swiss design and engineering expertise. The Merlin has been a labour of love and is in fact one of the lightest most compact adult electric scooters on the market. The motor is integrated seamlessly into the front of the scooter unlike other electric scooters which are boxy and clunky. Add to that the clever regenerative braking, cruiser control, 4 mode settings and front and back suspension ensuring the smoothest of rides we believe the Merlin is the scooter of choice for those wishing to add a little power to their everyday journeys.
