Floor .... well Floor is amazing but ........ let's not forget the multi-instrumentalist (& 6th member of Nightwish) Troy Donockley. He's English and plays the Uilleann pipes, tin whistle, guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, pump organ, bouzouki, cittern, bodhrán, mandola, harmonium, aerophone and vocals.
Floor is freakin amazing, but I love how Troy is featured with all his talents.
Troy is not even the lead guitarist in Nightwish. He is so talented and has a very deep rich voice. Floor, what more can be said that has not already been said? Simply a world class talent. Troy's guitar is a Fylde Oberon.
Hello James, I listened to this song and was very impressed the sound of the guitar, but could not see what the name of the guitar was. In review someone said that it was an Fylde Oberon. I did some info on internet and found the store in England. I had contact with Roger and after he gave me info of the guitar I did order the Fylde Oberon only without the cutaway. I only have to wait for one and an half year to have the guitar. But I take that for granted and wait to the day I receive my new guitar. Greatings from Holland
@@peterknijn Wat gaaf, Peter! Ik had indertijd een post van Troy op Facebook gezien, waarin hij vertelde dat het een Fylde Oberon was en dat ze speciaal voor hem die hap eruit hadden gehaald. Ik speel zelf geen gitaar, maar ik vind het geluid van die Oberon echt schitterend!. Nog even geduld, dus....en dan heel veel plezier ermee!

Try anything from "Beste Zangers", so search for "Floor Jansen" & ""Beste Zangers" and you won't be disappointed.
They do, unfortunately, often get blocked.
Floor is the best female voice alive today. I like your interpretations of sounds in her voice. I would be curious on your take on Russian teen Diana Ankudinova. She is a true Contralto. If you listen, start with Wicked Game. She was 15 when she sang it and is 17 now.
I am a fan of both Floor and Diana. I suspect a Collab between them would be insanely good
I think it's time stop adding the "female" disclaimer to Floor.
You can see floor participate in a dutch tv show from 2019 called "Beste Zangers" (Best of singers), and I can highly recommend you to take a look on that and react to her performances. The TV show itself is very interresting. Singers from the Nederlands join up and make covers from the each others songs - from Opera to Metal :-) The fun thing is, that Floor was not so very known in the Nederlands before this show, but with her voice, personality and way of make a metal twich to her covers, she really took her country by storm!

She's the next level of the next level, in every aspect.
She's born with natural talent, that was found out b4 she endet up in market cashier. That talent she's been controlling with stubborness I could never do. Training old again and again + learning new all the time over 20 yrs - it shows. She and Tuomas (atleast those two from Nightwish?) are perfektionists...
I would suggest Floor's interpretations of "Alone" and "Shallow" next. The first one she lately recorded at home in her barn, the latter one she sang on "Beste Zangers 2019" for Emma Heesters, who owns a multi-million subscriber RUclips channel as a cover artist. The idea of the TV-show was, that seven (pro-) musicians from different genres, like Opera, Folk, Pop, Rock, Latin & Metal , who ought to bring along their fanbase, were celebrating their music. Indeed it was not meant to be a competition. Each week/show one of the singers had been spotlighted to the audience and the remaining singers need to participate by singing a song of their choice from his/her repertoire. Floor was representing the Metal faction and hardly known in her native country before the show was broadcasted. For the first time "Shallow", from show #7, brought her a No.1 entry in the nationalwide download charts, after "Beste Zangers" was gaining more and more attention after each week. She stayed at No.1 until the following week, which showcased all singers in duets at the final show #8. The anticipations were high, when it became well-known, that Floor would join forces with the participating opera singer to have an attempt on "Phantom of the Opera"....eventually it became her second No.1 entry on the national Dutch download charts.
P.S. Though broadcasted at Prime Time on consecutive Saturday evenings, "Beste Zangers" was not a live event, but was recorded live. The whole set was filmed within a fortnight or so on a hired mansion at Ibiza, a mediterranean island off the Spanish coast. The first couple of days ought to be a common vacation for the singers, to become much more familiar with each other, before the daily recordings started. So the singers usually had just one day to get their appearances right. Talent plus technical skill plus constant practice. Adds up to glorious music
Why do so many people keep using the word "talented" when they actually mean (from context) "skilled"? Talented implies some kind of natural born-with ability, rather than practice and effort. It waters it down. Sure, Floor is also talented, she had the "fortune" to be born with a large body/lungs, good skeletal structure in the head etc, but that obviously is just a tiny part. It's her SKILL and KNOWLEDGE that allows her to sing like this, not her "talent". /endrant

I've watched seven or eight of your videos so far and you are a great reaction channel where you can break down intellectually what is actually going on in the song. There's a lot of other channels that don't do what you do and I think that's missing within a good reaction and breakdown. Keep up the good work. Glad you finally got some headphones. M M...Great reaction, thank you. You NAILED it ! She has two master lessons on RUclips and two new covers to keep busy during the concert pause. The lessons are about breath control and relaxing the jaw. LOL. The covers are " Alone " and " Frozen ". Pick any video from Wacken Open Air 2013 to get a better feel for the band.

Floor is undoubtedly a fantastic singer and artist, but she also has a sincerity about her and a caring soul so that a song like this becomes even more powerful. Troy is also a a-level musician.
It's such a delightful version of an already amazing song.
It is so very interesting to listen to a professional do a reaction. You hear and see so much we would never know.
In case of emergency Floor Jansen's voice can be used as alarm clock, car alarm, smoke alarm, train horn, air raid siren or fog horn.

Floor's voice can also travel faster a louder than the speed of sound. In fact, she may rival 'Ludicrous Speed'. lol
Floor did her 3rd Masterclass today . She was doing her voice warm up. The second verse is how Tuomas feels about Floor since she joined them. It was Respect for Floor and what she brought to the band. The couple with the baby is supposed to be Floor Hannes and Freya. You should react to Floor's covers of Let it go and Alone. With Alone she is doing a cover of a cover.

Understanding the words - the key to this is avoiding at all costs operatic vowels. Make them wide rather than tall.

two different levels. From Growling to Soprano is the one and only
Floor Jansen with her phenomenal, rich and powerful, yet soft voice.
And her presence, the way she dives into every song she sings.

Rheumatism, not cancer. Floor's mother has been struggling with rheumatism for decades now.

You should listen to the singer in Beast In Black - Blind And Frozen. Yannis can handle his voice and beat the most of male singers. Also a band from Finland. Another band from Finland with a female singer ..... Battle Beast - Black Ninja. Noora is one of the best.

Floor studied classical singing and musical theater for two years at the conservatory after her four years at the Rock Academy. All this while being the lead singer in After Forever.
Now watch it again but turn off the volume. You wouldn't think she's singing like that =)
