The Boran cattle originate from border region southern Ethiopia / northern Kenya. The white British settlers from the Mount Kenya area near Nanyuki started ''improving'' this breed by doing rigorous recordkeeping/culling/metrixtesting... Later they exported to South Africa where they became even more improved. When comparing the whiteman's bred Boran to the original stock in northern Kenya its a world of difference. This white men did what KALRO is failing to do for decades --> improving a breed.
This breed has originally been raised by Borana tribe here in Kenya, for as long as God created them. Other Kenyan tribes have the smaller and tougher Zebu cattle. A cross breed btw the Zebu and the Borana produces the biggest and toughest beef animal in the world.
Zebu is an Indian cattle breed, introduced by Indians long ago. Do some research on that. Boran is purely East African, and the current breed was further improved from the original here in Kenya. Sad, is that SA stole patency to the Boran. Mzungu ni shetani mwenyewe.

If the animal is docile and lived in close proximity to man, then how is it that there are no thefts? Saying it is impossible. What do they do? Bond or hone in on who takes care of them? Odd.
There is ather cow breeds in Africa that have resistance to ticks like indema cattle in west Africa they develop immunity against ticks born diseases The rest I don't know 😀
