My first time doing pocket holes was a waste too, but you learn. And once you do they are so convenient. The drawers look great man. I can't wait to see the next episode
Killin it! #1 Semi Proffessional Amateur on RUclips #1 Crapenter in our hearts. Where does the divider land at the back of the drawers in relation to the wheels? Can you run your other drawers to opposite direction and clear the wheel so you won't have to clear anything at the front of the trailer at the hitch? You could even build a box up there for more space... Love ya buddy, it's so great to see you making it happen . I think it's time for a motivational talk with emotional music to kick this build up a notch.
@@WoodnessGoodness I think you'll need clearance at the hitch. If 1 drawer comes out one side, fit a piece of ply or melamine that you can use as a counter with the drawer open for your kitchen / out door table.
Nice save with the palm router ! My first thought was " hey dude wheres the forstner bit? " But then yeah you covered that ... Cheers to making progress .
Your build definitely make it feel possible to build my own teardrop camper. Really enjoying watching you building this and learning from your mistakes along the way!!
I've decided to build one similar to this but I've decided to use a truck axle and suspension so I can fit all terrains on it and not have to carry two different spares
The joys of building things. Personally I’d have welded angle to the trailer at each corner and some flat bar pieces through the middle sections. But then again I’m better with steel than I am using timber.
For the sides, consider a rebate/rabbet joint in future rather than pocket holes on a butt joint. Easy enough to cut on a table saw and you don't have the angled nonsense going on that caused so much frustration. Nailgun or screws straight through the bottom. Plus you've got two edges to register against and glue on, so it'd be super solid for a big base like this. Just gotta account for the extra depth required for the slot when cutting the sides. Good on you sharing the frustration. It's easy to pretend work doesn't drive all of us crazy sometimes, great to push against the appearance of instagram perfect sometimes. When you busted out the chisel at first I thought "oh nice, graham is getting into hand tools for detail work". Maybe not, haha. Keep it up!
Looks great! For your next drawers you need to construct the boxes slightly differently. The pocket holes should be in the front and back and screw into the sides. So that when you’re opening and closing you’re not pulling the joint apart. It also helps for when you put a face on because it hides all the joinery! 🤙🏽

So is the weight of the base / teardrop on the bolt heads from the drilled out holes all that is going to keep it from sliding off of the trailer? I'm was watching and wondering if you were going to use the bolt holes on top of the trailer's frame with some carriage bolts or something. Then again I know pretty much next to nothing about woodworking (other than building some workbench's and frames with my dad from scratch from spare lumber) or trailer building which is why I'm watching you so I can learn. Thanks for the great series I subscribed on part 2 and am in the process of binging the whole thing.
