I am 36 years old now. 20 YEARS AGO my 3 brothers and me used to share the only computer available at home to play this game during hours. When finally Diablo 3 was announced we were too excited but it was disappointing. At that time I remember said to my little brother: why they can't do the same game but with crazy graphics... and now the gods have listened or maybe the evils. I can't be more exited by a game, and I am sure that we are too many sharing this feeling

Back in the day.. as much as I loved the game itself, half of the motivation to keep playing was to reach the next Act just so we were rewarded to another incredibly awesome top tier CGI cutscene... I guess it will be no different this time and I'm so glad they got remade as well.
Yes! Games then; Diablo II, Warcraft III (Reign of Chaos, Frozen Throne), Starcraft, cinematics were something to look forward to during campaigns/missions.
.... I don't know ... Right at the start Marius sounded wrong ... Like a cheap actor reading a script. Then they screwed up tyrael .... He looks more cartoonish more d3 than his original majestic looks, especially the wings and the full body halo glow .... How anyone say this is insanely good is beyond me And the 170k views with only a few k likes should be enough to tell you people aren't really happy with the cinematic
It amazes me how great the storytelling is in these cinematics, how it carries you towards something, as in a dream. “Why do things happen as they do in dreams?”
Also looking forward to the epilogue before expansion intro. The other inmates slowly screaming louder and louder as flames engulf the entire asylum, rats fleeing the inferno with the lord of destruction slowly filling the entire view as the music picks up. Cinematics team pulling those nostalgia heartstrings, what beautiful torment.
We all must think "how hard is it to make a good game?". The masterpiece of D2, shows that, to make a great game, it takes great talent, great skill, and a great vision. The countless number of bad games in the 20 years since D2's release, makes it all the more clear.
I swear some scenes are almost hitting photo realism, it's insane how far cinematics have come. As per usual Blizz cinematics are GOAT. I don't see how anyone could dislike this, I know about the bad wrap at Blizz atm, but this work is amazing.
Diablo 2 was the reason I took up and IT course and dreamed of working at blizzard creating this masterpiece. I may not have achieved my dream, but at least I have fun in the IT field.

The D2 L.O.D Ending Cinematic with Tyrael is gonna be amazing when redone! The one thing about the times with that was it felt like such a bigger thing was happening but graphically it looks like Tyrael is just breaking some Red Wall or something. I can't wait to see The Destruction of The Eye of Anu in 1080p!
I played the original D2 back in the summer of 2000... seeing this now is absolute treat. Blizzard has become the absolute masters of CGI movies. Seeing those cutscenes with Marius and the Dark Wanderer remade to this level of quality is astonishing.
One day I brought cds with D2 from my friend. Dad looked over my shoulder once I was playing and asked what's that... This is how his story with Diablo started. I recently got him the remaster and he is patiently waiting for it.

I still remember 20 years ago, when my brother and I would sneak out of our bedroom when our parents had gone to bed, to play D2 on the only PC we had (a Pentium II). Every now and then we would get caught, but still we kept sneaking out to explore the dark world of Diablo deep into the night. To be able to experience it again, afresh, is just too good for words.
There's a few spots where they left out a sound effect, no idea if it was deliberate or not. I've heard the originals so much it's sort of jarring to not hear expected sounds... hopefully they get the next cinematic fully SFX'd, I'll be disappointed if Tyrael's sword doesn't CLANG like it did originally.
I love the Diablo 2 story. I was about 5 years old when I convinced my mom to buy it for me. A neighbor kid's dad had been playing it and I really wanted it. Marius is such a gullible and tragic character. It was so shocking to learn Marius was talking to Baal in disguise, and then his demise. Simply the best. Video games have attempted to build better, more modern interpretations of the genre and always fail in comparison. Diablo 2 is more than just a video game for me.
this is a testament to a company and its employees working so hard on something that is a passion and a love. Fantastic work from start to finish - cannot wait for the other 4 cinematic's on release day
yeah its incredible what a company that actually cares about its employees and not just profit margins can do with a game. Todays blizzard is completely unable to create a game of this quality level and they have all the money in the world. thank god blizzard are not the devs on this
@@niziggz I love the superuniques in the game. Like Beetleburst and The Dark Elder.. Ancient Kaa. There's no lore or quests associated with them, they just exist in the world and quickly become a familiar landmark/challenge or one to be discovered.

I love this! My only complaint would be that I wish Tyrael looked a bit more luminescent, similar to how in the original he was almost blinding. Well done!!
According from what I've read, that is what he was supposed to look, but back in the day, CGI limitations forced them to use more light to cover him up.

You should know 22 years ago, there were very few Diablo-like games, but now there are lot. Everything has been changed. New graphics have been improved a lot but it's just you to be different.

The narrator talks about you being compelled to go East, implying that it's still you, but being influenced, and compelled by Diablo. Almost like a post hypnotic suggestion thing. Maybe I am over thinking it. lol
I like the way they added a little voiceline to explain 'it is my brother', leaving open the possibility the wanderer is Tal Rasha's brother... and not Bale's. GJ keeping the lore intact.
I can't wait for tomorrow. I grew up with this game, I still have the original LoD installed and still play it. Been waiting for a remastered version for years!!!
I pe-ordered the game the moment I watched the reviews. If Blizzard would have botched that remaster that would be probably the last nail in the coffin. Visceral did a solid on you and it was a good decision to integrate them into the blizzard team.
@@Stavroization Its not included in the beta because its a multiplayer beta and online multiplayer is somewhat bad and complicated with Nintendos very special online infrastructure. The Switch runs Doom Eternal and Witcher 3. It will run D2 without the slightest compromise if the port is done correctly.
@@CB-py1xh I hope so. However, my pc runs those games much better than d2r. It was alpha so I'm hoping for better optimization but I'm not optimistic. Also, while Witcher and doom are playable in terms of them running at acceptable framerates for a handheld, personally, the loss of graphically fidelity isn't worth it.

Yes, everything after Lord of Terror possessing him. All the facial of his former self are gone. Also, hope for the Epilogue of the cinematic change it to Act V. That will be a great change.
If you think about it, the entire process to imprison Baal was pretty impressive. A secret tomb concealed in a hidden valley only accessible through a uniquely conjured portal located in a forbidden labyrinth underneath the harem in the palace of the ruling family of Lut Golein. On top of that it could only be opened with the Horadric Staff...The Haradrim went through a shitload of trouble to hide the lord of destruction away. Yet somehow Diablo just walks right in and frees him, that part always bugged me.
I have an issue with the vid. Tal Rasha doesn't seem very cooperative when he's being slammed into the pillar and bound, and this is before Tyrael puts the stone into him. I thought he volunteered for it.
At first the wanderer tells him of how he has been a great warrior. But at the end of the cinematic it's the diablo talking, telling him that Baal is his brother, basically.
Dude, this is a remaster of Diablo 2. It is literally D2 with modern graphics. If you liked D2 back then, you're probably going to like it now. If you never played D2, play D2 Resurrected. I understand, where you're coming from, but this is a remaster of a game from "ye olde times".
How I wish that this masterpiece gets thrown onto the small screen, they can literally do a 4 seasons for every act or they can rush it, do 2 story arcs, one with marius and diablo while traveling, the other story is the original heroes that have come to stop diablo in his path to reunite with his brothers, shame that we wull probably never get this on the small or the big screen.
Please add act 6 and more to resurrection instead of making Diablo4. Diablo3 never existed. It's all good that way. If you can't create anything better, just use the old one and add up to that!

Yes, everything after Lord of Terror possessing him. All the facial of his former self are gone. Also, hope for the Epilogue of the cinematic change it to Act V. That will be a great change.

If you think about it, the entire process to imprison Baal was pretty impressive. A secret tomb concealed in a hidden valley only accessible through a uniquely conjured portal located in a forbidden labyrinth underneath the harem in the palace of the ruling family of Lut Golein. On top of that it could only be opened with the Horadric Staff...The Haradrim went through a shitload of trouble to hide the lord of destruction away. Yet somehow Diablo just walks right in and frees him, that part always bugged me.
I thought this was ''A new Hope'' and I was watching a scene of Luke and Ben Kenobi walking toward Mos Eisley?

I have an issue with the vid. Tal Rasha doesn't seem very cooperative when he's being slammed into the pillar and bound, and this is before Tyrael puts the stone into him. I thought he volunteered for it.
At first the wanderer tells him of how he has been a great warrior. But at the end of the cinematic it's the diablo talking, telling him that Baal is his brother, basically.

Dude, this is a remaster of Diablo 2. It is literally D2 with modern graphics. If you liked D2 back then, you're probably going to like it now. If you never played D2, play D2 Resurrected. I understand, where you're coming from, but this is a remaster of a game from "ye olde times".
How I wish that this masterpiece gets thrown onto the small screen, they can literally do a 4 seasons for every act or they can rush it, do 2 story arcs, one with marius and diablo while traveling, the other story is the original heroes that have come to stop diablo in his path to reunite with his brothers, shame that we wull probably never get this on the small or the big screen.

Dude the Baal scene now makes more sense now and looks so much better that we can see baal in human form and his surroundings. Loved it!

Please add act 6 and more to resurrection instead of making Diablo4. Diablo3 never existed. It's all good that way. If you can't create anything better, just use the old one and add up to that!
