I'm italian and I live in Rome, I hope you know that 15 euros for a gelato is way too much: the stores near the center are always overpriced, a gelato like that usually costs 3-4 euros. Anyway love that you are in Rome, hope you have fun!

When i went and visted, it wasn't 15 euros for one gelato at that exact shop, I'm pretty sure that's all their gelato together! maybe? it was around 4-5 euros for a single gelato when I went

17:00 I’m pretty sure you guys are aware but incase you’re not, when you’re visiting out of country or even out of state never EVER say you’re from newyork in situations like this. Many people will scam you out of your money because when you’re from newyork youre thought to have lots of money wether you’re from the city or the hood.

unfortunately rome is a really common place that tourists get scammed 😭😭 my dad went a long time ago and some kids came up to him asking for directions to distract him while another kid stole his wallet. and then a few minutes later they came back with his wallet and expected him to give them some of his money as a reward for finding his wallet and giving it back but he knew what was going on LMAO 😭😭😭
At least they came back with it to ask for some money lol., I feel like other people would have just straight stolen it and left forever
Hi Evelyn!!! 👋🏼 I just want to say how greatful I am that you take the time to post so regularly and the level of quality content you create is astounding! It has really helped me with my mental health recently as I have had quite a tough time with a newly diagnosed illness that is taking a massive toll on my school life as I am 15 and doing lots of mock exams in the UK at the moment :/ people were making fun of me because I have episodes where I can't breathe and I faint and it was really hard, but I always try to think of how you would stay calm and positive and explain to them what is happening and not get frustrated. My mum took us to Italy for the weekend before the first major lockdown in 2020 and her itinerary was packed- we fit everything from climbing Mount Vesuvius to visiting the Vatican! Completely different from your no plan adventure, it’s so interesting to see you guys go on holiday without a plan it looks super fun

I loved history so I want to share some of the things I learned from 7th grade; the Colosseum was built for big events before such as the games that involved animals fighting animals and tournaments/competitions for human. The bitten part by Zeus is caused by strong earthquakes from years ago too.
About the Travi Fountain, it's one of the oldest source of water for public baths in Rome before (idk about y'all but during our 8th grade, public bath in Rome before is a very common topic for Social Studies) and I saw some some facts that the ace of cups beside it is for revenge that the one who designed it built. Near it, there's the love fountain (drinking water fountain too(???))
Oh right! The coins tossed on the fountain is sent directly to some charity.
