The hate was so bad. I mean, Simon is half korean, half japanese. And as someone living in a multi-cultural society, I don't see anything wrong with that but some koreans are still very closed-off and selective on who they welcome to their turf. Some people were even racist towards the girls for no reason. But I love how Simon (their main producer) keeps pushing boundaries and is experimental with the girls. All their songs are different. XG is the first girl group out there, that are not Idols to me. Even though they were trained in they way K-pop idol format were trained, but their approach has been different. XG members were more cultivated and nourished with their talent, taste and their style preference which is obviously hip hop and RnB. Jakops who has been behind this had another vision, the vision we as ALPHAZ are grateful for. XG are all artists rather than idols. XG is culture 💯🙌

Sometimes I feel people forget that the only way hip hop and r&b moves across the world is when kids in these other countries becomes fans and students of the genres they enjoy. Call them CA and it sounds disingenuous. Besides that, you can tell how much these young ladies love the music. I have watched a few of their documentary segments where they mention where inspiration comes from - Mary H. Blige, TLC, Lauryn Hill, the list goes on and it becomes obvious that they have a great deal of love and respect for the music and culture. The (ex?) president of their parent company Avex had an interview that was badly mistranslated saying that he was using the kpop industry to make xg more popular /use their training style for xg. Korean showbiz does not really like them, because XG are all Japanese but the company chooses to let them start in Korea, they feel like they are being taken advantage and they don't like it. Mainstream Korean people can accept a group that has some members from out of the country, but when a group does not have a single Korean member also the song is all or 90% English? Korean are mostly not interested or some of them even hate it.

people who wanna hate on xg are ignorant and it SHOWS. not everything is cultural appropriation (why we still using that term anyway? it's vague and ambiguous), and there is a huge difference between that and appreciation for black music. xg grew up listening to the same stuff i did, and that's so awesome to see.
They have some haters in South Korea and now here. Knetz hating on them cause they are a Japanese group promoting in Korea. And the hate here is cause some people think they are “cultural appropriating” a culture. Their will always be haters, the good thing is that’s a very small number. They have more love from real fans and new fans alike.

Blackpink and Babymonster are probably XG's main competition.
Then there's groups like Fifty Fifty, Twice, Newjeans, , Le Sserafim, Aespa.
Though if you ask me none of them have the Rap Line or the dance style to the perfection of XG whom is always in sync Live or MV.
Not to mention Juria and Chisa's amazing vocals, however XG has given props and a shout out to Blackpink, Newjeans, and Twice.

Sometimes I feel people forget that the only way hip hop and r&b moves across the world is when kids in these other countries becomes fans and students of the genres they enjoy. Call them CA and it sounds disingenuous. Besides that, you can tell how much these young ladies love the music. I have watched a few of their documentary segments where they mention where inspiration comes from - Mary H. Blige, TLC, Lauryn Hill, the list goes on and it becomes obvious that they have a great deal of love and respect for the music and culture. Let 'em sing and rap, they are putting it out there how much they love the music. My two cents.

Yep, XG got haters on haters on haters. It's some talking about how they act too black. A lot of Koreans got beef because they don't consider them Kpop and something about an issue with Japanese artists in Kpop groups. XG keeps being better, while the haters keep being bitter.
They may be based in Korea but their vibe is NOT KPOP. They should just move to America.

I didn’t see other people talking bout it but they also received cus people thought they are ‘using’ training/marketing of the kpop industry to push Japanese artists doing English music. The (ex?) president of their parent company Avex had an interview that was badly mistranslated saying that he was using the kpop industry to make xg more popular /use their training style for xg. Lots of Korean knets take offense especially with the nationalism between the two countries sometimes, but honestly dumb because their exec producer jakops is half Korean half Japanese and came from the kpop industry as an idol
I think the K Pop industry is coping with the idea that, while kpop is still palatable for the west, it’s still pretty niche in the US and reserved for “stans” I think seeing XG be palatable to the mainstream western audiences intimidates them and is a wake up call maybe? Idk speculation

They have a lot of haters bro specially in Korea knetz in Korea in fact xypher tape 2 was also a dis track for the haters, the RUclips channel FocuSON is one of many channels in Korea who promotes all the hate in every video they post about XG you can read the comments on there and it’s full of xenophobic comments, calling them parasites,rats even wishing their death it’s just mad hate, there’s also hate from very small groups that have a belief that XG is black fishing appropriating the culture etc etc but it is true though, XG has a lot of love from Latin America,Asia and America in General but yesss to answer your question yes. So from what I’m told (second hand knowledge) South Koreans are very unaccepting of other cultures that come in to their country. So they don’t accept XG because they’re Japanese, some K-POP idols also don’t seem to like them. And lastly there’s a small but loud group of AA’s that don’t like them because they say that XG is using their words and style. But I just know XG is the truth! They are amazing!

Korean showbiz does not really like them, because XG are all Japanese but the company chooses to let them start in Korea, they feel like they are being taken advantage and they don't like it.
Mainstream Korean people can accept a group that has some members from out of the country, but when a group does not have a single Korean member also the song is all or 90% English?

Keep in mind that Blackpink has been around for 6 years and Babymonster is newer than XG.
Both of them are under the YG label which is bigger and more well known/established than XG's label XGALX.
