Here because of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 announcement. When I saw the architecture and scenery in the game I had to see the real place, hope I can visit some day.
In Kutna Hora i tried one of the top best white wines i ever tasted. Given that i am from Portugal, a country of excellent wines, that is saying a lot. Good job.
Look up Moravia wine region. The southeastern part of the country is famous for wine and it is packed with beautiful villages with wine cellars and there are lots of events when you go around them by buses taste wine. There is lot of food and local folklore involved. I would say this is not really discovered by the western tourist yet and it is lovely.
All of your videos are amazing. They are very informative, very well filmed and edited and enjoyable to see (and funny also....). Giving all the detailed information on how to get there is something extremely useful and makes the whole experience of a tourist much more pleasing and hassle free having not to worry about all these things. Great great work!
I'd love to explore Kutna Hora someday soon as I am a UNESCO junkie :) I've been to Prague many years ago and loved it.. Definitely on my top cities to visit again soon. Thanks for this video.. It is very informative and useful.. Cheers!!!

Great video. I took a tour from Prague to this city in 2011. I only saw (I think it was) one of the other church grounds, (this place had a concession stand), then we had a lunch break in a nearby square, then of course we went to the other church with the bones that are so famous. Valery, great video .... I just learned so much about the city. Originally I was born in Brno, but I live over 40 years near Boston, so it is very interesting to me to know more about CZ and the cities. You do such a great job ...., Thank you
Go.
Valery what a beautiful style of your talking in simple English. You always uploads beautiful videos. In fact my English speaking and listing is very weak but I can easily understand your English. You are doing a great work but my question is that do something for those peoples who want to visit beautiful places all over the world like Czech republic but they can't travel due to immigration problems like me thanks you so much
I am half Czech and still have cousins in Prague was last there at 16 in May 1992 and my grandfather knew Czechoslovakian President Edward Benes and my family fought against the Nazis in the Resistance.
@@RealPragueGuides Best city in Europe, barnone. Best beer, best fried cheese, best Dumplings, and best women. Not only brilliant, but beautiful and independent.
Valerie can you tell us in a nutshell why Prague unlike Warsaw was not rebuilt in Communist tradition. Krakow escaped this because both Hitler and Stalin visited and having seen its architecture deemed it too beautiful to destroy. I wonder if the same is true of Prague.
Because the ground in the town was not stable enough to build, some mining shafts were even below the town. When they were building the church of St. James it started to tilt due to the crack in the bedrock and here where St. Barbara stands today, was the most solid bedrock to build :)
@@RealPragueGuides I was low key hoping they did it just for the view... But thanks! You will soon know each and every little historical oddity in this country 😃
I think the Cathedral’s location was to serve the Miners, since mining operations were away from the town center? BTW Valery; love your personality. Mad sarcasm!
Thanks for guessing! It's a good guess but the reason was a little different. The mining shafts were right below the town and this was the most solid bedrock they could find in the area. Building it within the city was impossible because of the ground instability.
But don't drink too much there or you miss the last train. It's one of the most important touristic places in Czechia, but train connection there is like to some random village. :-) I recommend visit even Kolín which is next to Kutná Hora and has gothic cathedral too and much better connection from Prague. BTW 2:30 "ignore the letters" you became real Czech now :-D
Maybe they built the cathedral away from the city center, because the city center's ground was too unstable with all of the mining? *Thank you for these videos! I'm inspired! I'm going to Kutna Hora on my next visit to the Czech Republic!
It's such a pity that with all these restrictions we won't be able to go there. My wife is from Valasske Mezirici and she misses her mother & family. Such a beautiful country.
Hi, very nice video. However I am pretty sure the name Kutná Hora, or the first part of it, is not derived from kutna - monk's robe - and that it is in fact an adjective derived from the verb kutat(i), archaic synonym of kopat, to dig. Thus Kutná Hora means a mountain of digging, or a mountain where they dig. In older literature this town is often being referred to in plural, e.g. v (or na) Horách Kutných, which reveals even more strongly the nature of the word Kutná as an adjective.
First time in Prague 2008, my friends and I visited Kutna Hora just for the Bone Church. Being young at the time, we missed out on this beautiful town as we had no idea there was much more to see and do. We were hungover and just did no research except for being told that there was a church full of bones in the town. I'll be in Prague for my fifth visit in March and I am tempted to visit again to see the town properly.
