- What are the best irons for low-handicap golfers? I headed to SGGT England at South Chesterfield Golf Club to get custom fit for my new irons for the 2024 golf season.
Once we got the right shaft I hit clubs from all the biggest brands in the game to see which would suit my game the best. You can see how clubs from Ping, TaylorMade, Titleist, Callaway, Mizuno, Srixon, Cobra and more differ. You'll have to watch the video to see which irons I've picked!
As a +2 handicapper, I was seriously impressed with the fitting service, including multiple shafts to test, regripping the clubs to use your own grips, loft and lie testing and being able to be fit with a PW, 8-iron, 6-iron and 4-iron to get the perfect bag gapping through your irons.

Really great content again. This is really what a fitting should be and usually isn’t; and shafts seem to be so fundamental for timing and to get the most out of the head and individual delivery. I think it shows the advantage of going to a fitter with a lot of choice, who is not wedded to any brand. I didn’t think you would resist that Ping combination 😊 I hope you have a stellar season with them.
Blueprint S is making a ruckus all over. Well done, Ping. I'm sorry my 243 did not win your heart but have a great season. Accra is a sneaky good company also.

Those BluePrint irons are so pleasing to the eye.
They feel even better! I mean the “S” model. I haven’t tried the “T”

SGGT is great. I’ve been for an iron fitting, driver and fairway wood fitting, and lastly a shaft fitting for my irons. It’s a complete service with equipment you might not get as standard through manufacturers specs. After service has also been good! Enjoy your new irons 🙂

H2, I think you should have tried the Wilson Staff CBs. They are amazing and I think feel better than the Pings.

Great fitting Hannah, not sure i would have stuck with the same shaft once id picked the head, is there not a little thing in the back of your head wondering about trying another shaft just to check the numbers??

Any advice on how to get the same value from my local fitter .
My 3 experiences for a fitting does not come close to what is covered by your videos or any others alike .
I feel like most of my local fitters don't seem to care about finding the right setup if I'm not an influencer or a scratch golfer who is looking to spend over a grand on just the irons .

I'd love to see a full video on picking the right shaft for your irons. Today, I feel it's almost more important than the head as there is such equity across the brands. The golf shaft is the engine.

The Blueprint S looks great. I'm playing the Pro 223. I was cheering for those. Curious why they dropped out of contention after hitting only the 6 iron. Is it that the higher loft was causing a gapping problem? It's good to see that they're pretty comparable though.
Love your vids. Had dodgy internet connection watching this but I am pretty sure the Mizuno numbers were better overall. Confused.

VERY interesting video, Hannah. I’m about to change my irons, although I live abroad, so it would be tricky for me to go there. I’m leaning towards Mizuno JPX 923 Forged (I need a bit more help than you). The shaft is the tricky decision.

great vid!! if spin is the only category that isnt "perfect", wouldnt the 243pro w/ prov1x be an option? Im down to 245pro vs p790 vs i530, I dont hit the center as much as you ;0) any suggestions of those 3? ;0) are those addidas shoes?

I'm surprised, after how you hit the Wilson's earlier this year, you didn't include those in the fitting. Any reason you discounted those? (unless I missed it explained somewhere in the video)

Great fitting. Got to ask how many times can the fitters tweak the lie and lofts before they need to replace the head?
Good question! I don’t think they would need to replace them as long as they don’t move them too many degrees, it’s generally big changes that affects it

You switched from an AWT S300 shaft to an Accra is80. How do you feel now about the change? 20+ fewer grams and quite a few swingweight. Has it affected your timing/consistancy? points...

Great fitting, but maybe stick with the T100 lol. Seems like ur not getting much of anything over them.

Was there much of a difference with them compared to your normal?

Isn't the ideal spin for a 6-iron like 6000-6500? All of those were way lower in the 4000-5000 range. Was just curious about that.
6000 would be ideal with a blade you generally don’t get that much as you move to clubs with more forgiveness. I could probably look at a spinnier ball to help too, pro v1x or TP5 tend to spin more

An iron fitting at SGGT is £150 but you get that money back if you buy any clubs

I have PXG 0311 P gen 3 irons, been playing for 26 years & the 4 iron is the easiest 4 iron I ever hit.
Why not try something else beside the same old same old big 5 or 6 brands.
Why not try Takomo , Wesley Bryan is using them now.
I have hit PXG and Takomo outside of this fitting ☺️
