This week we finish off all welding in the Aft Cabin + continue with the COMPANIONWAY DEMOLITION!
New plans on board for the companionway and getting ready to tackle our larger windows and the big issues with our hard dodger...

Angles look nice on a boat like the new templates for the windows should look pretty sharp and match with the rest of the windows already done. Good call! Keep rolling!!

Hey mate. Im no fabricater but i can see in those very front window's what looks like a twist in the sheet steel. Id say (guess) itll deform if you cut out a bigger opening. Might be worth putting some 10mm² square tube bracing or similar on the inside first.
But your right, she looks like a friday avo build with all these little things not done right lol
At least shes in good hands now, and will be done properly

My old man has bi fold doors on his boat could that be a better option with two doors and a lift up hatch for a little extra head room for the companion way.

Hi Mathew! the companionway is going to have a forward sliding hatch so it will be completely out of the way :D
With our door design we are going to be having interchangeable custom inserts! Including the option to change from tinted acrylic (matching windows) to a fly/mosquito screen for air flow with the doors closed too.

Did you do a salt test on the boat yet? I am very interested to see how much salt has been picked up in the air. I live in Florida and our air is very salty.

I haven't done a test on the boat as of yet, but happy to do one over the next week or 2 and let you guys know the results!!

Mate I hope you don’t go with the doors opening in wards it makes it more difficult and dangerous when you are standing on the internal steps to open the doors towards you, have you thought about a roller shutter door you have plenty of head room inside and it won’t interfere with anything

Hi Danny! Great comment outward swinging is the plan now. However the idea of a drop down board into the boat has also been growing in us too... still not 100% sure lol
