Ok, as a Lithuanian I would like to clarify some of the things:
    1) Yes, we are a homogeneous country, but you can see a reasonable amount of people of color in Vilnius. However, people tend to stay indoors during winter, because of you know...cold :D
    2) -3 degrees is not cold for a general Lithuanian, real cold starts with -15 and below. This is more of "hey, I don't need a hat today" kind of weather. However, it is considered cold by people who originate from warmer places, like yourself, or the majority of colored foreigners that live here, hence, you can't see them in the streets.
    3) We are a nation of colder climate, so we naturally conserve energy and we don't have a habit to make small talks. In fact, when some foreigner casually asks "how are you?" we feel kinda stressed out :D We don't smile at strangers, we think making an eye contact with someone we don't know is an intrusion to a personal space. If you, however, approach a Lithuanian and ask for something, we would be happy to help, and we really appreciate foreigners taking interest and visiting our country.
    4) Racism? Here??? I haven't heard of that!!! As historically we never had a significant population of black people, we have no negative feelings for them whatsoever. The only ethnic group that we have an unfairly "cautious" attitude towards, are gypsies, but that is also slowly, but steadily improving. Yes, we might take a quick curious "glance" at a black person on the street, but just because he/she looks different and cool in our eyes. But we do that secretively, because of the personal space thingy... :D
So, I hope you had a great time and maybe you will consider visiting us in summer :)

It was a good idea to go to this country since it was not planned. The weather tends to influence our behaviour and for me, I am not surprised that they are as cold as the weather. They want to go back home, it is too cold. That is to be expected. It is not usual either to go and visit a place during snow time. They must have thought that you were both crazy.

You didn't experience the "culture", wrong time of the year everybody just wants to get home. In general Lithuanians are cold and winter ads up to it but the key to any Lithuanian heart is just to learn couple of main words and phrases in Lithuanian.

I learnt how to say Goodmorning and afternoon but I couldn’t remember them when I needed to 😅😅 I guess a longer stay would have allowed for more vocab. and practice .
