I haven't watched the video was made on this ARG, but my read of the series is about self-destruction. Knights make many poor decisions throughout the series, ultimately sabotaging themselves as they continue to throw away their limited resources. Despair seems to give way to manic joy in acceptance as Knights seems to be delighted of getting to destory what remains of his world themself.
I really appreciate the developed OCD regarding doors in an helpless attempt to remain in control.
