On one hand, I can understand how the life you see out there looks so tempting, but for me what draws me to a place is the *authentic* way of living in a place, not the Westernised, gentrified, instagram version. I am sure it is fun to wander from cafe to cafe and go home to a luxury villa at a fraction of the price you would pay in many parts of Europe. But I would be interested in knowing the reality of Bali/Indonesia as it is for locals (and what they think of all the Westerners who are there building a life for themselves, creating jobs in tourism but also driving up prices and probably not wanting to share the beauty). I highly highly recommend you read Indonesia, Etc. by Elizabeth Pisani. Yes, she is a Westerner, but she acknowledged the local people and all the beautiful variety of language, the mix of cultures, the joy people find in small moments and the reality like desperate struggle to make ends meet, all for a small but meaningful life. All of that said, nice to see you feeling happy and fulfilled. I would never begrudge anyone feeling good.
Agreed! What you want is for people to be respectful of the local culture, and not be exploitative of people. As long as you embark on your journey aligning your actions with those intentions, then all would be well. Niomi gives the impression that these are her intentions.
@@dandelion5410 I want to believe those are her intentions and she’s just trying to figure out a way to move them into action. It’s really difficult to get out of the colonial mindset they grow up in. First they have recognize it’s there. Unfortunately, calling it out often results in them viewing it as a personal attack, and not as a call of action to remove the blinders that have been built into their mindset. But she is seeking and in that seeking she has the opportunity to hit the source of the “privileged despair”, lean into the discomfort and emerge on the other side with the necessary paradigm shift. I’m rooting for her.
You're not enjoying "Bali life" though, you're enjoying the tourist, privilege staying in a nice villa, party version. Travel about 3 hours out off the area you're staying in, you'll get a huge reality check. There's so much poverty in Bali, it's heartbreaking. I really do feel that a lot of influencers are so out of touch these days. I'd love to see you all slog it doing a proper 9-5 on a salary that doesn't reflect the skill involved and the hardship the working population actually face.
even tough I agreed with you as I read your comment, now I think It would be also the same if somebody posted 'A taste of World life' or something. I mean, it would be again luxurious and wonderful blabla. This is sadly how the world or economic systems work now. There is always more than one face of the situation.
If you were going on a holiday... Would you pick a place with poverty, maybe high crime or a relaxing place to swim and eat good food? Most people would pick a place to relax or explore good things. It doesn't mean you are not aware of what is going on around you.
@@MissSeaworld8 My point was she's claiming to be living the Bali Life, but she's not. The second half of my comment r.e poverty, was highlighting that what she is experiencing is far from "Bali life". I didn't say anything about not being able to enjoy the privilege part of Bali for a holiday, just commenting that she is not experiencing the Bali life.
Babe why don’t you rent your London place out for 12 months, go to Bali and see how it goes? Like you say, you only get one life. You’ll still see family and friends back home. Bali suits you. x
Me and my family (kid and boyfriend) are planning on doing something similar. We stay back in our home town for 6 months, and in our second home in spain for 6 months. Before we go we work together for one day, put our stuff in a rented storage box and then rent out that house that we are not staying in. It pays for our storage unit, flights and most of our monthly expenses. We don’t really see a difference financially and this way we can Always follow the sun and enjoy every day to the fullest
I would so do that!!! Especially if I was free and do what I wanted. I wouldn’t leave my husband, kids and grandkids though. I would want them with me now.
Bali might not suit her, she is currently in a resort, outside of which there is massive poverty and people struggling to cope with the increased prices caused by western gentrification
One of the things to keep in mind is that all the stress of work and such will follow you to Bali. You may not feel it as much now because you're only there for a short stay. But after enough time in one place, you almost become "blind" to some of the things you used to love about it. Novelty can be really energizing. But then once the beautiful vistas and sunny weather become routine and normal, they may not make you as happy as they once did. You may start missing family or feeling work stress start to creep back in. You can even get seasonal effective disorder in the summer from too much sunlight believe it or not! Not to be a downer but just some things to think about.
I got so excited when I saw that this was 35 min! I’ve missed your vlogs. You’ve got such a lovely demeanour and calming aura about you. I’ve followed you for years and you always continue to inspire me to always grow and change. Bali looks incredible and I’m so happy for you.
Make the move. I couldn’t agree more when you say you’ve ONLY GOT ONE LIFE. Be happy and healthy and continue what you’re doing from a beautiful place.
I really felt what you said about being a more open-hearted version of yourself out there. I lived in Costa Rica for a year and felt like a completely different version of my Germany-self there as well! It's really interesting how a different environment can impact our personality!
Thank you for sharing your journey, I can hear in your voice how relaxing this experience is for you. It’s really inspiring and I look forward to you sharing more ❤️
I turned 30 in December and on the 4 months running up to it it really messed with my mental health. But I look at my friends who are married, in relationships and have children. And although I always wanted that, I do love my freedom, and there are pluses and minuses to everything. It’s funny though the night before my 30th birthday the negativity lifted and I just though you know what, when I turn 40 I will wish I’m 30 again so I’m just going to enjoy my life as it comes. Can’t wait to see more of the Bali content if you film more! I hope you have a lovely birthday too! ♥️♥️
I am turning 30 in July and I am currently experiencing the worst time of my life. It's more than just not having the things I wish I had, it's much more...and it eats me alive.
@@ThePrivet18 Currently 29 and the one thing that’s getting me through is how many last-minute lessons I’m getting about myself, what I truly want and what I’m truly capable of. I just turned 41. I have no idea where the last decade went. I remember that week before turning 30, I was freaking out thinking I was so old and I had to have everything figured out! I still don't have it figured out and I know look at 30yr olds as really young with so much time to still work things out! I was thinking when I turn 50 I will wish I was 40, so embracing my age now
Love seeing a snippet of your journey Yes. The weather really affects me. I’m in Massachusetts, USA and the winters are long and with not much sun. I completely change and am revived when our warm, sunny, spring, summer and vibrant autumn come around. I am reborn into a new person. I would move down south where it’s sunny year-round and beautiful year-round, but like you said my family is here. I want my son to be with his grandparents and uncle. I am just so happy and relaxed with more sunshine
Niomi, you are just glowing. You only second guessed what you are saying once and never apologized for deep chats or talking at all. That is amazing to see! I can see that you are on your path and that is wonderful.
Hi Niomi - I love your videos. I’ve followed for so many years. You give me so much peace in knowing we’re at similar places in life and you’re very inspiring to me!
💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 Lots of love Niomi...I am so happy you are back on youtube. Watching your videos helped me while I was going through the worst times in life. Seeing you happy and enjoying your life, making decisions that are good FOR YOU is what I enjoy watching. You deserve the absolute best, you are such a sweet, beautiful soul. Lots of love, N. 💗
I love all of your videos but this one is my favourite! You happen to talk about something I really wanted to hear. Your random interesting talk saves my life. Thank you. Xxx
Happy 30th Birthday Niomi. I wish you the best birthday that you can have in this new year of 2022 and pray that whatever your plans are for today all your dreams come true on your birthday today.
Just letting you know, dragonfruit is easily peeled after you cut into wedges without using a knife. Just separate the peel, that way you don't waste any of the fruit :)
Niomi, I don't often comment but want to say this really touched me - your words are beautiful and I believe everything you say and the section at the end was wonderful. Heart-warming to see you so happy and wise: I think you receive far too much nastiness online sometimes. You're GLORIOUS. I've been lonely this evening and this video brightened me up so much! Sending you love from London xxxxxx
Vibes in Bali are just the best. I think you should consider to move there slowly 😆 Especially for those who work remotely/are digital nomads. I highly recommend staying in Bali for a longer time!
Everyone is on their own timeline. Don't compare yourself to others and their life with family and children. You do you darling. I know the pressure sometimes is a lot from the outside, the judgement by others, and so on, but it's so important to take things exactly in the pace that works for you.
Niomi, you are always so sweet and adorable and genuine. Been following since your first RUclips video. I don't follow many RUclipsrs from years ago but you have a special place in my heart. And I truly consider you a friend that I care about and always hope to see you good and happy and fulfilled. You are such a precious person and you deserve the best. Lots of love 🤍
I get it. I'm stuck in a place I hate but it's also where my only family in the world lives. So it becomes a question of choosing the known vs the unknown. I do think it's healthy to spend some time on one's own far from the place one was born, even if only for a brief season of life. Just remember that wherever you go, there *you* are. Real contentment comes from within; you can't outrun it.
Yes! If you're not loving it completely where you are, and you have the means to go and live in a place that you whole heartedly love, then you should definitely do that!
Oh the farmers market looks soooo good! I do love a market and car boot (especially the B'ton ones) and a good storm! Enjoy your time out there and can't wait for the next instalment! Take care x
Ahh Niomi, have been patiently waiting for you to upload a Bali vlog, it looks so wonderful out there. I’m glad you are having an amazing time and the food looks incredible. Please upload more from Bali, thank you so much for sharing 💕💜❤️💚.
Good to see you again and to find you so settled........how lovely to be in Bali for 6 weeks...if you can’t extend this year Niomi maybe you can do it for 6 months next year.............Donna in Toronto
Def caught the yawn! Really want to do this with my husband. I’m in school, can take online classes, he is going to start working from home in the new year..definitely considering it!
Loved this video. Niomi you have such a calming aura about you which makes you so nice to watch. I love how you say the world is out oyster. You’ve really inspired me to consider changing things in my life which aren’t serving me. I feel that more people should have the attitude to life that you have, it’d make a better world. I really want to visit Bali now. It’s not somewhere I’ve particularly thought about going before but after seeing this blog it is now on my bucket list of places to visit xxx
Hi Niomi! So nice to see your vlogs again. I'm going through a similar transition but not as drastic as me and my husband will be moving from London to Somerset soon. Again, like Bali, it's near the beach so I will so much look forward to being near there and have many sunset strolls after work and sunny days on the beach too. But I am leaving my family and in-laws behind but all the same it's still exciting and I can let go of a lot of baggage and bad memories from here in London. Sending you love and kindness, hope I can go to Bali one day too, you've inspired me! X ❤️❤️❤️ 🌴🌺🏝️
Have a Great rest of your vacation you deserve it. Caught the yawn Your super sweet/ cute. Heading to Bail whenever it’s safe to go to India were my husband is from. Wanted the Seychelles my dream place but my husband said it was out of the way from India. So Bail it is. And I am excited. Especially after seeing your video. Have a safe and wonderful rest of your trip.
Loved this vlog, A chatty one , But very chilled😊 I heard something strange at 32:41 a hum manly voice, Don’t want to scare you, But what you have with Bali i have it with Lapland/Finland I feel like my heart and soul belong there ive bein there in 2018 and it’s bein a long dream of mine to go, and in january we are finally going back to my happy place i fell in love with Finland since i was 15/16 cause of there metalbands and i was a goth,And i played guitar for 12 years and i played in a band but i played metal for myself and i went to alot of concerts of the bands from Finland❤️🇫🇮 And in november we’re going to see Nightwish again and i can’t wait! So excited for it!❤️and i loved there livestyle and the nature and country and the ppl are very relaxed, And they think differently i do that aswell,But i don’t like to travel alone i have anxiety for flying, And i have 22q11 deletie syndrome and i am a heart pacient, But i finally got that dream come true and i fell even more in love with Finland And i am more a autumn/winterperson😊I really don’t like the hot weather🥵I am happy when it’s raining and cold and autumnle, I have very bad hayfever in spring and summer, And my biggest fear is thunderstorms, I get pannic attacks, But i melt away when it’s like 30 degreese here in the south of the netherlands,My bad knee swells when it’s hot out, And i get alot of headaches when its hot out and i sleep not well, And i don’t like having it to hot cause of the weather, And i like bein cosy and i love when the days are getting shorter and the evenings longer🧡🎃🍂 But soon it will be autumn and i can relax more,And what you said about friends i spent also alot of time on my own but i have my husband and family and a few friend, But i had alot of fake ppl arround me when i was younger, And they didn’t accept me for who i am, And now i have my own bubbel and i am happy and back to my live in my village where i grew up and was born😊But sorry for my long story 😘
Be careful of mercury if you have started eating fish. How did you start introducing meat again in your diet? I would feel so bad doing it... I love animals too much.
Change is good. Maybe the good vibes, abundant sunshine, and easy relationships, are a sign that you found your place. I think your family would be thrilled to visit you there!
Absolutely love this video! I used to dance abroad and feel a little stuck back at home at the moment but you have reminded me of how in reach it is after some priorities like courses etc it is 100% reachable and if you don’t try you’ll never know if it will be for you! I’m definitely made for sunny countries though!🤣
So I just wanted to say that you are 100% not being naïve!!! If you are feeling the urge to stay then that feeling is worth exploring. There are loads of options open to you-you could always let your London place out for a year and give it a go, you can always come back if it doesn't work out x
Everyone can judge trips to third world countries differently. Without tourism Balinese people could not survive. There is nothing bad in your attitude, dear Naomi. You have really recovered from the split up and I think it replaces your planned stay in India. Thank your for your blog. Big hug
Nice to see you Niomi getting on with your life you look very content and at peace. Dont feel guilty what you have youve worked hard for enjoy it and enjoy life we only get one chance at it. 🙂
Hi just wanted to say your so inspirational to me, I’ve just come out of a 14 year relationship, we have children together and some days are incredibly difficult. I love how calming these vlogs are and I’m doing my ytt 200 alongside working full time. I’d love to go to Bali one day it looks so relaxed and beautiful x
This life is you 1000%. Move for six months. Rent out yr apartment in London. As you said you only live once. You look complete. Plus u an can visit Australia we are closer now!! Xxxxx
This was such a beautiful video niomi. I hope you are able to soak up as much of Bali as you can in the next 4 weeks. Thank you for reminding me why I'm happy to headings right now. Also would love a video about your transition out of veganism💜💜💜
When you described the different energy in Bali compared to London and how it can bring out a different side of us... I knew exactly what you were talking about :) This is how I felt in different places I traveled to in my life as well. By the way, There's a beautiful clothing store called Indigo Luna in Bali. I hope you visit it!! Would love to see you go there and try on a few things, letting us know your thoughts. I've ordered from them and I just love them!
but the resort she is in is a bubble, it doesn't reflect actual Bali at all, there is massive poverty outside her resort due to gentrification by westerners
Really loved this video! Your energy is just so good. I found your thoughts of letting people go and love yourself, very helpful for my own situation right now. Thank you
Well maybe a great happy medium would be Australia! Sort of inbetween Bali and London, lifestyle wise. Also closer to Bali so you could feasibly live there easily part of the year! Or slog it out in London for 6 months of the year and get away for 6 months to Asia. Lots of choices!
maybe the calling to a more authentic life is something you should explore? i certainly feel the draw to a simpler life when going abroad. when you come back to the UK, everything is just so westernised, commercial and feels a bit fake. i love england and the countryside, it's where i'm from and it's the most peaceful, but the draw of an authentic, almost anonymous life abroad is so tempting, especially for those who can! i'm self employed with no real dependents at home. you only live once!
Awww loving pics on Instagram of Bali It looks truly beautiful place So lovely to seeing u enjoy life and taking it at your own pace x enjoy 😊great vlog and thanks for sharing with us Missing utube videos x
Bali sounds amazing Niomi, you are such a lovely girl, when you give off that kind of energy I think you meet people so easy. Enjoy the rest of your trip, I always learn and feel inspired by that part of the world, love the culture and the food and just the slower pace of life.x 🏖😊

Everyone is on their own timeline. Don't compare yourself to others and their life with family and children. You do you darling. I know the pressure sometimes is a lot from the outside, the judgement by others, and so on, but it's so important to take things exactly in the pace that works for you.
Niomi, you look happy, relaxed and healthy. I’m so happy for you. I’ve been with you from the start and you continue to amaze me!
you were never vegan, just plant based...
Such a calm video, loved it. I also love to travel again, so next week I’m going to London. Any recommendations for cafes in Nottinghill?
Hi ..truly .Happy to see u again. Niomi bless you
naomi your vlog lighted up my day!!! Thanks for always being so positive and radiant~ love you always xx from Hong Kong
So lovely seeing you so at peace xx
Niomi, you are always so sweet and adorable and genuine. Been following since your first RUclips video. I don't follow many RUclipsrs from years ago but you have a special place in my heart. And I truly consider you a friend that I care about and always hope to see you good and happy and fulfilled. You are such a precious person and you deserve the best. Lots of love 🤍
Yeah! I was hoping you would share your experience with us. You look so radiant 😊 Thanks for sharing 💛
You cannot run from yourself. ❤️
Yes! If you're not loving it completely where you are, and you have the means to go and live in a place that you whole heartedly love, then you should definitely do that!
You’re glowing! Can’t wait to see more Bali content 😊
Love this vlog!! Thank you for sharing with us ❤️
Thank you for sharing. Your videos always pop up when I need them the most. Trying to love myself but find it so hard. Enjoy Bali lovely lady xx

Loved the questions and answers Niomi 💕
Your videos always put me in such a good mood. THANK YOU!
Happy Early Birthday, Naomi! Thanks for sharing. You look glowing! Everything looks beautiful. Please keep taking small video clips. :)
This is my favorite Niomi! Yawn especially ;) Thank you for this video.
hey niomi....uhm...can you actually link the podcast you mentioned at 29:40??
You look so happy there!!!! I'm so happy for you
❤️❤️❤️ 🌴🌺🏝️
Have a Great rest of your vacation you deserve it.
Caught the yawn
Your super sweet/ cute.
Heading to Bail whenever it’s safe to go to India were my husband is from.
Wanted the Seychelles my dream place but my husband said it was out of the way from India.
So Bail it is. And I am excited. Especially after seeing your video.
Have a safe and wonderful rest of your trip.
Been watching u for years and so happy that u’re liking Bali, Niomi! Much love from us Indonesians! ❤️
Hi Niomi, will you link the podcast you mentioned please. Love your content.I’ve to Bali girl. ♥️
I love when you upload! Thank you for your thoughtfulness 🎈
Hey! Niomi I really really really love your contents so so so so so so so so so much you are such a inspiration for me😭✨♥️🥺
Everyone can judge trips to third world countries differently.
super excited to see Bali from your view!
Love your outfit of the day! What shoes do you normally wear with that or is Bali a place you can just go around barefoot?
Watching this after coming back from Bali yesterday - missing it already! Thanks for the Ubud recommendations 🥰🥰🥰
Hi just wanted to say your so inspirational to me, I’ve just come out of a 14 year relationship, we have children together and some days are incredibly difficult. I love how calming these vlogs are and I’m doing my ytt 200 alongside working full time. I’d love to go to Bali one day it looks so relaxed and beautiful x
o it is so hard! all the best
Love your Taylor Morris sunglasses.. Can you please tell me the model name?
This life is you 1000%. Move for six months. Rent out yr apartment in London. As you said you only live once. You look complete. Plus u an can visit Australia we are closer now!! Xxxxx
omaigat! can't believe you in Bali now.
hope you enjoy it! 🤗
Watching this on the 25.5. Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday tomorrow! 🥳
When you filmed the market it went so fast, I got a bit nauseous haha.
I think you have on som setting on your camera
@@arnicepernice8656 what? I was talking about the camera’s setting. Some cameras speed up when you start filming
I love seeing you more happy, and exploring other parts of the world more. Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Bali!!
This was such a beautiful video niomi. I hope you are able to soak up as much of Bali as you can in the next 4 weeks. Thank you for reminding me why I'm happy to headings right now.
Also would love a video about your transition out of veganism💜💜💜
Love the comment about everyone being on their own timeline 🙂
We get that a lot on stage! 😎❤️
Thank you
Do what sparks your soul 💫
Well maybe a great happy medium would be Australia! Sort of inbetween Bali and London, lifestyle wise. Also closer to Bali so you could feasibly live there easily part of the year! Or slog it out in London for 6 months of the year and get away for 6 months to Asia. Lots of choices!
@@miraggg 😘
Love from INDIA! I really look forward to your videos, Niomi!
maybe the calling to a more authentic life is something you should explore? i certainly feel the draw to a simpler life when going abroad. when you come back to the UK, everything is just so westernised, commercial and feels a bit fake. i love england and the countryside, it's where i'm from and it's the most peaceful, but the draw of an authentic, almost anonymous life abroad is so tempting, especially for those who can! i'm self employed with no real dependents at home. you only live once!
How safe is it for a woman travel solo? Is it safe? How to move from place to place?
move to bali already
My puppy learnt to swim in that exact pool! So glad you’re enjoying your time here, it was lovely to meet you as well, you seem at peace here :)
