Yes, that's exact same unit produced by Chinese ODM. This case also applied for all other series in-house made by JVCKENWOOD factory in Indonesia.

Just installed the Kenwood DMX125bt in my 2006 Tundra. In the Audio Settings how do you set your custom equalizer setting (User1, User2, User3). After I set the equalizer setting I go to hit/hold on User 1 and it resets to the middle again. Tried this 3 times. No luck. Also. I was told I can connect my iPhone 11pro to the USB and control the audio on Spotify/TuneIn Radio, etc. while the iPhone is charging. But when I play music on Spotify (while iPhone is connected to USB) after a few seconds it switches to radio. Its done this a few times too.
They are the same unit according to my Kenwood rep, I suspect that as it doesn’t run the traditional Kenwood 16 or 22 pin plug it is more purity to have started life as a JVC (as the JVC line up is all ISO harnesses now) not a bad unit either was, I still sell a fair few in both brands.kenwood is more marketed as the premium offering where as JVC is more for the budget savvy) I was team JVC in the day but think Kenwood does focus on sound quality a more with their high res equipment.
I noticed you haven't reviewed any Alpine stereos in a while. Any chance you could do the Alpine iLX-W650? The specs look impressive for the price.
This chassis that JVC Kenwood is using is rather strange, it's like it's made by a 3rd party and adapted to their needs. If you look up the specs, all units using this chassis have an FM tuner with much worse sensitivity than a normal JVC or Kenwood unit and they only have 2V preamp outputs available. They are also the only JVC or Kenwood units that have built in Android screen mirroring in the sub-$400 range. If you want 4V preamp outputs and built in Android screen mirroring then the price jumps to $600+ for a KW-M865BW or DMX9707S.
Hey, I’ve got a question, can I connect speakers directly to those preamp outputs that your are talking about? I don’t quite understand that because to me it looks like I can just plug and play with speakers since what I could find it apparently has 50w output per Chanel but I don’t know again if that is the max output or the rms output, do I really need en extra amp just to have working speakers at all? I ask cuz I want to install a new radio in my car with 4 speakers, two having 30wRMS and two (apparently) having 100wRMS. From what I understand now is that I cannot drive those speakers until I get an amplifier, if so I’d rather stick to the old barely working radio that is in the car and save on spending 200 bucks on the radio and another 200 bucks or more for an amplifier just to have working speakers. Correct me if I’m wrong, since I have no clue 😅😂

So correct me if I'm wrong here im just making sure I understood this.. they clip at 36 on the speaker outs but they don't clip max volume on the rca pre outs?

And Acura is Honda, Infinity is Nissan. It must actually work. Lol. Oh, and I chose the Kenwood. Bought a used one even cheaper, it gets the job done. I may have seen the same JVC and didnt realise, but trusted the Kenwood name more so i took that, lol.

No you cant so that on any stereo you can only swipe on your phone

Great for vehicles with analog steering wheel controls. No additional module needed. Sucks they only have low voltage RCA outputs, but having a capacitive screen i guess you can't expect more at the price point.

Yep. All stereos do stuff like this. The signal will actually start clipping before you reach maximum volume. It's the entire reason why Steve Mead helped create devices like the AMM-1 and DD-1, so you can can properly setup systems without the need for an oscilloscope. Why manufacturers can't just design their stereos so that max volume is actually a clean output is beyond me.

I have the Kenwood and every time someone calls my sound goes flat and I have cut the car off and start it backup to get the sound back other than that I like it cause with the EQ you can fine tune the sound
Same thing happens to me in a higher model kenwood ddx376bt but only when I answer on the head unit. If I answer the call with my phone my music comes back on after the call. Which sucks cause I have to get my phone every time instead of just tapping the head unit to answer

What's the point in having to release the same product under two different brands? Loyalty? If the JVC one was sold in countries outside the USA then I could understand. Kinda like Carrozzeria is the Japan name brand while it goes by Pioneer elsewhere.

The back looks exactly like a bunch of the Android headunits, I'm sure if you tore it open you will find it's just that with the JVC KENWOOD OS on them, even the output specs line up up with the 5 Android units I have tested. I wouldn't pick either one, save your money and buy a better unit

Yeah you cant adjust your mids and tweets with the JVC M150BT and there so far have been 0 youtube videos on it, ive been searching and have yet to find anything other than adjust its EQ which does nothing for mids and tweets volume. Def wouldnt have bought it if I had known before hand

I think that excelon Kenwood amps are better and JVC radios have better sizzle in the highs(brighter sound) . I'm doing the same thing. Oh, and JVC actually have a illumination wire on all models
Man my JVC really pisses me off because the mirroring function doesn’t work with both android and Apple and I’ve tried all the methods my last resort now is to try and download a firmware update for the fucking thing excuse my French. I literally sat out here for hours messing with it in the hot sun trying to get the stupid thing to work but I’m not sure how Best Buy installed it. I even told the guy at Best Buy that I wanted it specifically for a screen mirroring and I wanted a cheap alternative to android and Apple auto.

I bit the bullet and bought one little while back and had the bt problem but after I updated the firmware its a rare occurrence now... was waiting on their review but needed a screen and a older jeep Cherokee's have no mounting depth so it was either this or a ilxw-650 and the Kenwood was half the price

M Ehsan as far as I know pioneer specialise in car audio nowadays and don’t really do anything else much where as kenwoods always been mostly home audio and jvc portable audio

I would to but blowing $200 or $300 just ain't worth it right now for a radio at least to me. The Jvc version I got at Best Buy for $150 and basically get android auto 😂😭 can’t beat that and you know it.
