Thank you for sponsoring and posting these videos that keep alive the memory of the incredible heroism and sacrifices made by our men during the War in the Pacific.
I was there 20 years ago. Suicide cliff was sobering. Many Japanese memorials. Huge rocks and churning surf. So very sad. I saw the holes in the mountains made by the big guns. War is hell.
I'm sure that the Marines, and GI's who fought, and died on the island of Saipan in 1944 would never in their lifetimes considered what the US has become today in 2024 representative of those values which gave them the strength, and motivation which moved them forward during that month long battle..
My first ship was named after this island and in the mess hall there was a rifle that the people had given to the first ship that was named after that island .
Lol yes and their commander was fired because they couldn't keep up with the Marines and that caused a lot of marine casualties on their flanks. Even after firing the army army commander the army still couldn't keep up with the Marines.
Dad's cousin was killed there. He was an Amtrak driver. Dad and his brother were to young to serve but I did 21 years in service. I think Korea is the only war nobody from my family fought in
@@LionHeartFilmWorks thank you very much for your reply and for being so specific. Please do the same in your future posts descriptions section. My homeschooled five year old daughter, and I love your channel. She arts anything daddy likes and she’s learning history at the same time. Keep up the good work.
Use english subtitles if you cannot understand the English narration. It can be changed to Uk English, Australian English or Yankee doodle dandy english
Why didnt the Marines invent better innovative weapons for the same old problem? Ship shelling only makes holes that tanks cant climb across. A lot of men died in mince meat tactics

Will this be a documentary or a movie? Also is it in English?
This is a documentary - filmed at the time using all original footage - it is in English, but subtitles might work (I don't know myself)

No. The Japanese army's assault scene in the second half is from a Japanese movie.
Little Big Horn probably not a good example of foot steps to follow in.
There is no Japanese version of the battle due the adamant policy of No Surrender.
The 27th inf.Div.went to battle understrenght.
Tough times. Rest in peace for the casualties.
Those japanese 75 mm guns were actually british guns.
