We are praying on Vancouver Island, BC for the community of Humboldt and for all those grieving tonight after such a tragic loss. We are so sorry for what you are going through. Thank you Pastor Sean for your message. Thankful to have a God who promises to be close to the brokenhearted.
Wow. What a message. From a Sports Chaplain in Scotland, I pray for you all. I hope I never have to deliver such a message. But if I do, this is an inspiration. May God bring all affected, the hope that is only found in him
One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. The hockey community is with you all. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace. Amen.
Tom Morin Pray for them, they are not outside of God's grace. God desires "Hey Canada" to come to know Him and share in His hope and peace. I agree, he is saying very foolish things but he needs our prayers.
You did a beautiful job of bringing some light in the midst of your pain and so much darkness! God is with you and proud of your raw honesty!. Praying for you, the players fighting to heal, the families and all those hurting! I’m a junior hockey mom and coach to pastors; my heart is with you all!
Kelly Savalas I'm so happy to hear you say your heart is being opened more! I will be praying for you Kelly! This Chaplain just demonstrated the reality of God's presence in people's lives to give him the Hope and strength to say what he did in the midst of great suffering.
Thinking of and praying for all who have been touched by this terrible tragedy. I commend you Paster for your wish words at such a terrible time. Send love from Ontario
Amen. Thank you for sharing the reason for our hope- the love of Jesus Christ. So true. Healing comes, scars remain. But in those scars we see the evidence of the strength that carries us through. God bless!
I FEEL SO HEARTBROKEN RIGHT NOW.!!! MAY THE SOULS OF THE DEPARTED REST IN PERFECT PEACE IN JESUS NAME..AMEN ...OUR HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILIES
Pastor Brandow, you are a blessing and a light, in this terrible time of unimaginable loss and tragedy. People like myself, who know nothing of hockey, still feel the sense of loss and grief, over this. And cannot understand how such a terrible thing can happen. Life is so fragile and precious and be taken without warning. People are praying for all the families of all those affected. Please let them find some comfort in the knowledge that they are not alone, they are not forgotten, they are held in the strength and comfort of Our God.
Benny Rodger What are you doing to help? Do you sponsor a child? Have you given money for clean water? Are you a doctor caring for these sick children. Maybe you do these things, I'm just curious. But you certainly don't seem to have much compassion to say what you commented. Where does your hope come from? What are you doing to bless other people and give them hope?
Hey Canada Are you sitting around complaining or are you doing something about the tragedies that take place? Who are you blessing and helping? You don't sound like you have any hope at the moment. You cannot bless others when you have no hope and there is no hope outside of Jesus Christ the Saviour. I pray for you whoever you are behind the username that your heart will be softened towards God and you will come to know Him as the Lord of your life, amen.
Sean, God delivered a powerful message of hope to the people of Humboldt through you. I'm a father, grandfather, Christian and avid hockey fan in Manitoba and, like so many others in this country, at a total loss trying to make sense of this terrible tragedy. The words that God placed on your heart and the way you delivered the message helps ease the pain just a bit. I want to encourage you in your ministry and that God that he has placed you in Humboldt to help the people who need it the most. God bless you.
Dear Pastor Sean, God is showing himself through you! You are the hands and feet of Jesus! We mourn and pray for hope and comfort during this very sorrowful time. Your brothers and sisters in Christ from Cambridge, Ontario
So beautiful! Words help to heal when the are sincere, honest and come from the part of your soul that hurts the most. Pastor Sean Brandow carried the pain of all those involved and of everyone who watched the vigil around the world, he said in such a clear loving way what everyone needed to hear to help heal from this devastation and unimaginable loss. Sending you all love a prayers.
My prayers go out to their families and loved ones and the first responders. I do agree with this pastor that we do need Jesus. He's our only hope when there is no one else who understands our grief. Jesus loves us and he will never leave or forsake us. I'm so sorry for the loss. No words.
Will Albots How are things going Will? Have you tried praying to Jesus? I'm continuing to pray for you that God will soften your heart and reveal to you His hope and love for you. Don't be afraid to talk with Him and don't worry about what to say. God can take all of our words. He longs for us to be open and honest with Him. I pray that you will turn to Him and live the life He desires for you. So be it according to His will.
From UK, we are also sad, and we are also crying, but we want to send our love and strength knowing that for us, it will be over in a day, for you it will last a life time. I know this, but my hug and my heart goes to you all
Such an encouraging message from a true, faithful and humble man of God. We give thanks for you , Sean, and will continue to pray that many will take your example and hope in the Lord, the only help known to mankind. Only one life, it soon will be past, only what is done for Christ will last.
If ever I should live in your home place I would gladly worship in your church . Even after these months later I need to hear your voice and the wisdom behind them . I feel God is much closer to my soul . He is still speaking His voice through you . Listen and know His time . My tears are still falling . Thank you so very much for your Faithfulness . Peter and Judy
Will Albots The only God there is. The one true God May you find Him. I pray for you Will, that God will soften your heart towards Him, that you will come to know Jesus Christ as your saviour and will repent and turn your life over to Him. May God's grace be upon you. "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7). That's a promise froem the One who always fulfils His promises.
Jesus Christ. He is God. There is only one God. You don't have to believe that, but that is the truth. History proves it. Science proves it. Life proves it. I'm not going to argue with you about it - the truth proves itself & if you do a bit of study to actually know, you will discover this.
Even now , I come back to this Powerful word spoken , from God , through Sean . Our son will find freedom in his valley . We need Jesus and we need to hear from God . Thank you so much that I can still cry Sean . Peter
What an amazing man The way he spoke so moving so truthful so sincere My heart is broken💔for each one of these beautiful young men We all stand with you Bless Each One Bless their Families Bless their Friends Bless all involved This is such a tragedy 💔💚💛
MissQwertyPie my hope died a long time ago im not trying to be a blessing to anyone. Im here to observe the shitshow for however much longer I maybe around.
Well, that is your choice. Jesus offers everyone a free gift of salvation (rescue from punishment for our sins) you can either receive the gift and choose to serve the one who loves you more than anyone or you can choose to reject it. The choice is yours. I have chosen to accept the gift and accept unconditional love and I have chosen to serve Jesus and when I die I will in return spend eternity with my Saviour, my Lord, my Redeemer, the one who loves me more than I can ever imagine. I hope someday you change your mind and realize that you do need Jesus. But, alas the choice is yours.
Elizabeth Sawatzky I am Happy that you know Jesus as your saviour. But I encourage you to pray for Will because people do not come to know Jesus on their own strength. Jesus said no one can come to Him unless the Father draws them to Him. Please pray for Will that God will soften his heart and reveal to him his need for God. Only God can do that and not just us choosing on our own. Also no words we can say will be enough to convince Will, only the power of God's grace and mercy.
A Sad day for all hockey in Canada it's our game hence they are all our teams' thoughts and prayers for all the ones we lost and bigger to the ones that remain
this hurts i never met these boys but im a hockey dad and hockey is like 1 big family this is a very dark day in the hockey world and canada!rip too the broncos players that passed on tto heaven
If there is only one message you heard and remember from Pastor Brandow I pray that it is this one "If you have no hope you cannot be a blessing to anyone else." Prayers of hope to all the mom's & dads, brother's & sister's, husbands & wives who lost their loved one. May the hope of Jesus comfort you at this time of grieving and let us not lean on our own understanding but believe that there will be good from this tragedy. XOXOX
What a blessing and testimony to the grieving to direct them to the cross and find the only true comfort - in Christ alone. Blessings to you pastor Sean Brandow as you grieve. Lay it all on Christ.
Our Lord is close to the broken hearted, He felt alone, He wept...He hurts too, but I am the good Shepherd that laid down His life because He loves us, He intercedes on our behalf.
this is just so heart breaking. my heart goes out to the families, friends, and everyone that knew them. Oh ! God it;s so sad, and we don't know why it happened, God knows, God's ways are not our ways, Has the hymn goes We'll Understand it All By And By. God Bless all the families. :(
Not to take away from that tragedy but to think that this type of stuff here has this amount of reaction from the public is beautiful especially when you see that in the US almost every week kids die in shootings and it doesn’t take three days for everyone to forget about it .
Lord takes away lives of innocent people with deadly viruses, diseases, fire, accidents and old age leaving loved ones heart broken for the rest of their lives. Praise the Lord!
Hi Aaron, I watched the whole thing, it has been such a terrible journey, did you know any of them? I know you knew the fellow who coached the Estevan team & that was tragic, too. My kids were always interested in hockey and my grandson is going to be playing in the jr. hockey league for Port Albernie next year, I’m so excited about it. Hope you’re doing okay. Keep in touch, K?
John 16:33 King James Version 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. My prayers and thoughts go to the families. Thank you Pastor Brandow.
In the New Testament, Jesus bore our curse for us (Gal. 3:13). The Model Prayer & Ps 91 demonstrate God is not behind tragedy or in control of everything. The Lord would no more put sickness or tragedy on a New Testament believer than He would make us commit a sin. Both forgiveness of sin and healing are a part of the atonement Jesus provided for us. Deut, chapter 28, should forever settle this question for all who believe the Word of God. The first 14 verses of Deut 28 list the blessings of God and the last 53 verses list the curses of God. Healing is listed as a blessing (Deut. 28:4). Sickness is listed as a curse (Deut. 28:22, 27-28, 35, 59-61). God called sickness a curse. We should not call it a blessing. Knowing that God is not the author of my problems is one of the most important revelations the Lord has ever given me. If I thought it was God who killed my best friends when i was 10, and my adopted daughter in my 30s or have a close friends threaten to kill me, and turn loved ones against me, then I would have a hard time trusting God, if He was like that. On the contrary, it is very comforting to know that God only has good things in store for me. Any problems in my life are from the devil or of my own making, or just the results of life on a fallen planet. My heavenly Father has never done me any harm and never will. I KNOW that. I am not saying that there is nothing to learn from hardships. Most of you reading this have come to the Lord because of something in your life that overwhelmed you and caused you to turn to the Lord for help. That situation was not from God regardless of the results. It was you turning to the Lord and the faith you placed in Him that turned your life around, not the hardship. If hardships and problems made us better, then everyone who has had problems would be better for them. Those who have the most trouble would be the best. That simply is not so. Likewise, I don’t believe it blesses our heavenly Father for us to blame Him for all the problems that come into our lives. Sure, He will comfort us when we turn to Him in the midst of our problems, but He doesn’t create the negative circumstances that hurt our lives. God is sovereign in the sense that He is paramount and supreme. There is no one higher in authority or power, but that does not mean He exercises His power by controlling everything in our lives. God has given us the freedom to choose. He has a plan for us. He seeks to reveal that plan to us and urge us in that direction, but we choose. He doesn’t make our choices for us. Based on the enemy usurpiing the authority and positioning placed on mankind in original fall in Genesis , and based on the god of this world blinding minds to the truth, as Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:4…We were separated by sin from not only relationship with God, but the purposing of God for our positioning as carrying His presence and His glory, and of course His authority and His will. Jesus turns all this around and lets us know that through Him we can pray and declare what is in heaven - God's will - to be done on earth. Therefore the will of God on earth is our responsibility, just as it is our responsibility to see and hear and understand as we walk with God. For our calling is to walk with the Head Who walked in submission to His Father's authority, BY speaking what He heard the Father speak and BY doing what He saw His Father do. We are now in Christ and called to do exactly the same... It is the enemy that deceives us to not seek God and speak and do as He speaks and does. In many instances, it is our wrong choices that bring disaster upon us. In other cases, our problems are nothing but an attack from the devil. In some cases, natural forces of an imperfect world cause us pain. Our tragedies are never the judgment or correction of God. Jesus came to give us abundant life. The devil came to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Don’t ever get that confused. If it’s good, it’s God. If it’s bad, it’s the devil. This is a fundamental doctrine of Christianity that must be understood properly if you want victory in your life. Believing that God controls everything renders a person passive. Why pray and believe for something better? Whatever God wants will come to pass. That simply is not true. The Lord is the answer to all our problems. He is not the problem
I am not five minutes in and all I can say is Amen....Amen....Amen. We have pushed God out of our schools, government, out of our social moral laws, and when a tragedy happens we say, "Where is God?" God allows these things to happen to remind us that we live in a fallen world.
children dying is gods plan....... this guy needs grief counselling and is speaking far from his own religions scriptures....... just a messed up form of belief....... the others spoke of comfort and god being with those who died not god planning to kill them as part of his plan.
Grief counseling is not that effective. Have you ever been disappointed by yourself and those you trusted? You can always walk away from those who disappoint you, including God. But can you walk away from yourself? Or will you tell me you're more than perfect in your own eyes and you've never been complained by others? For us, walking away from God means giving up hope. We just don't put hope in ourselves or others, since humans are neither perfect nor reliable. The love, comfort and healing from God is far far far superior than anybody in this world could possibly bring. Because only God can provide 24x7 support and understand our inner most thoughts and emotions. You simply don't understand. As for whether God "planned to kill" I'm not qualified to be God's lawyer to defend him. I doubt he needs one at all. He's heard about such charges thousands of years anyway. I used to charge him with the same crime as well. I'm grateful that he forgave me. Humans arguing about his existence doesn't change anything. On this earth we're all just vapors, come and go.
You thinking that God was not in control and not sovereign is against scripture. As if this surprised God.. God knows all in the past and all in the future. Your definition of death is the problem.. spiritual death and physical death is not the same. Everyone dies a physical death.. spiritual death is towards unbelievers.. these people most likely did not die a spiritual death, but have become alive in Heaven with God. It's a beautiful thing just as Paul stated in the Bible about wishing God would have his physical death be soon because he wanted to be with God in Heaven. It's saddening for us and those who stay on Earth and departed from these souls.. but it's a beautiful thing for those that are reunited with God in Heaven.
+JACKSONLEWISOFCANADA.......When a woman makes a decision to have an abortion society says that she is morally correct in making the right decision because its her body, when God plays God we say He is morally wrong.
Job 2:10 reminds us: But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips. Job 2:10 NASB But our hope is built on on Romans 8:28 .And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NASB Why did this happen? I couldn't tell you. But I know confidently that this will ultimately result in God receiving glory. I have faced many tough times and challenges in life. God didn't promise us Disneyland. Instead we get His presence and wise council.
Your venting is understandable, since I thought the same thoughts before. But they are not helpful to anybody in deep suffering but only bringing more bitterness and anguish that prevent the survived from full healing. There are fundamental prepositions in your statements/logics that you're not aware of. If it's that simple and straight forward as you reasoned, there should be no theists among normal human beings. What you said doesn't prove God doesn't exit, but a reflection that you don't know him and you don't understand why there're people who truly believe in him. I'm surprised at your saying "we believers". You sound like your own God, I mean, more like an atheist to me.
I was shocked and saddened by the derogatory dig at our Prime Minster Sean Brandow made by saying he "in honor of Mr Trudeau he wore his fancy socks". Such comments at au occasion as this is a disgrace and anyone who stoops so low should be ashamed to call themselves a Christian. Such actions bring shame to Saskatchewan and all our people. I hope the Broncos are astute enough to sever all ties with such an idiot.
Ray Rohr through extreme grief and pain, one who is put in a position of comforting might say something light. Not to be insensitive, but to open the atmosphere in the room. There was nothing derogatory in what he said. I'm pretty sure there was no one - the PM included, that was insulted. He spoke with gentleness, tenderness, and eloquence. He spoke Truth to give hope. Please don't let all the good he shared be overshadowed by one simple comment about socks.
I agree with what M W is saying. In addition, Prime Minister Trudeau is known for his fancy socks, and after all the destruction and sadness he's seen over this weekend Pastor Sean needed to start with something lighter. I'm sorry that what he said offended you, but the Prime Minister did not look offended. 15 people just lost their lives, no one is concerned about a comment about socks. Pastor Sean has built into the Broncos and his community. He was a first responder at the scene. He has visited with the victims and their families. I can't imagine how hard it was for him to speak tonight, but his message was powerful. The Broncos and community need him now more than ever.
You are a sick and so lacking in compassion if that is all you could come up with....especially after that beautiful, heartfelt eulogy. What would make you EVER think that post was going to aid in the devastation these families are feeling. You have some real issues...spend time looking inward at yourself....not taking down people who are actively doing something constructive to aid the community who are so deep in grief.
Thank you my brother! May the hurting turn to Jesus Christ!
We are praying on Vancouver Island, BC for the community of Humboldt and for all those grieving tonight after such a tragic loss. We are so sorry for what you are going through. Thank you Pastor Sean for your message. Thankful to have a God who promises to be close to the brokenhearted.

So heart wrenching...
Good job, my brother!
Thankyou
Amen, Amen, Amen...
God Bless You.... Wow so sad.
Hi Aaron,
I watched the whole thing, it has been such a terrible journey, did you know any of them? I know you knew the fellow who coached the Estevan team & that was tragic, too. My kids were always interested in hockey and my grandson is going to be playing in the jr. hockey league for Port Albernie next year, I’m so excited about it. Hope you’re doing okay. Keep in touch, K?
The body is dead but the soul is alive.

Jo Janssen Johns a good book Havent read all of it but very powerful verses
John 16:33 King James Version
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
Love from BC.
I am not five minutes in and all I can say is Amen....Amen....Amen. We have pushed God out of our schools, government, out of our social moral laws, and when a tragedy happens we say, "Where is God?" God allows these things to happen to remind us that we live in a fallen world.
I use to play hockey n was a goalie this accident hit home

i
children dying is gods plan....... this guy needs grief counselling and is speaking far from his own religions scriptures.......
just a messed up form of belief....... the others spoke of comfort and god being with those who died not god planning to kill them as part of his plan.
JACKSONLEWISOFCANADA There is no god.
Don’t argue with him. Pray for him. ❤️
+JACKSONLEWISOFCANADA.......When a woman makes a decision to have an abortion society says that she is morally correct in making the right decision because its her body, when God plays God we say He is morally wrong.
Where was God? Why did he allow this to happen. Good questions.
Where _was_ God?
God was there. There are still players alive !
He doesn't exist.
Job 2:10 reminds us: But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
Job 2:10 NASB
But our hope is built on on Romans 8:28 .And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 NASB
Why did this happen?
Give me one shred of evidence that your imaginary sky fairy exists. That's how it works. The burden of proof rests on you.
No, that's not a dig. I thought it was very gracious of him and bit of humour. I think you are taking it the wrong way.
Ray Rohr lives were lost and this is the comment you leave? This is about the Broncos team and families not the PM.
