Glad to hear your thoughts on the build. Your experience seems to mirror mine for the most part, not far behind where you are at. I am very curious to get your thoughts post 100 though. Watching Chrinikz's stream today he seemed to be struggling quite a lot not all that far into the pit (high 40's i think) a bit has me a bit worried.

Absolutely! I'm playing a twisted blades shadow Rouge, and it feels crazy powerful pulling agro then shadow bombing and wiping the screen clear. Wonder if every class is so stupid powerful?😅

Same! My first unique was ring of mendelin at lvl 21 lol. Crazy fun
I spent hundred of hours trying to get ring of mendelin and now in season 4 i got in level 30

@flyneco22 I work 50 to 60 hours a week and have kids. I get about 4 to 5 hours a week I can play so yea I enjoy it now. Not everyone has the same situation as you do and might enjoy it more as it is now. It's a game and should be enjoyable. I grind enough in real life so I don't need more of it in a game.
Season 4 is very nice so far. At level 50 i was already blasting in WT4 without too much min maxing as Necro playing a similar build as yours.

@MacroBioBoi, I have to be honest; I really like your intros, and your enthusiasm shines through, which motivates me. Things like following our findings should help you level up quickly and your focus on fun, not just efficiency is super important.
Finally, I like the context you provide regarding choices like whether or not to include the Army of the Dead. I suggest adding planners, etc., to the details section of your videos, but I'd imagine you wanted to post this quickly.

Yup, did the capstone at lvl 26 on hardcore with the necro. Very easy. I love that you can mix and match your build with minions. I'm having fun just messing with different minion builds.
I have a question 🙂 I saw you also posted Shadow minion build. Between those two, which one has stronger survivability? Cause maybe that's direction, for now, I'll try to go. I'm not "sweaty" Diablo player (playing it casually and not every day) so I saw myself dying sometimes/many times - depends on 😁 Of course, that's also because I still don't have fully optimized build, still building up. So, about that survivability, what build you suggest for me to go? If that's even easy to answer. Or, is the method "best defense is good offense" the best? Thank you, appreciate the answer 😊
Been loving the minion necro so far. Ended up WT4 at level 46. Sacrilegious Soul has been super handy as a utility item (got a 901 ilvl version from Varshan at level 60) I also ended up getting a level 903 bloodmoon breeches and the minion curse chance/damage buff was a huge increase. It made me able to hit ubers before 70 and proccing decrepify really consistent.

I got a Sacrilegious ring from my first unique Iron Wolf cache, my minion Necro is a legit AFK build lol. Also you mentioned you only need to hit 100% attack speed for cult leader, does that mean 2 separate attack speed buckets are no longer a thing?
Yeah I did the first capstone at 30, leveled up to 32 by the end. It was shockingly easy. Loving minions so far.
Same soloed at 31, 33 at the end, so fun!
What is a capstone?
@@stevenheaton5559 The Cathedral of Light dungeon in World Tier 2 and the Fallen Temple dungeon in World Tier 3 are the Capstone dungeons. They give you the ability to go into World Tier 3 and World Tier 4, respectively.

The first one which we're talking about here is a level 50 dungeon.
What's a Capstone? I've been doing the Helltides but never received a Capstone quest

I am confused. What part of your build over the Maxroll minion shadow / pure minion should we use? Neither use the same skill build out. I know you say to just use the paragon board from there but what else should we look into using from there? Especially if their paragon boards are focused on their builds. I am pretty casual but would like to mow through content.
With minions you will be mowing through everything no matter which you use. It really comes down to using Bone Prison for Blight, or Blight for Blight, and using Taunt Defenders or Corpse Reapers. Honestly you can't go wrong.
I'm now sold on D4 after the changes, hella fun and the Necro whoa boi amazing!

Is there a thorns necro build or is it just barbarian that utilizes it well currently?

Hey Macro, thank you for the video. I noticed the build planner is updated, now it has Bone Prison.
I was playing with the Maxroll build guide End Game Minion Necro by Chronikz, which is more similar to the one you showed in the video with some changes. I feel like the Maxroll Minion Necro build was faster in mid tier NM dungeons for me (around 40s). I am still 78 level. Could it be because this version you have in build planner, with Bone Prison gets stronger with paragon board develops further on higher levels? Bosses and elites were melting much earlier before with the previous build. Not sure if I am missing Blood Getter aspect, directly applying blight or the paragon board on that version?

Got a beautiful two-handed sword last night, 925 ip x3 greater affix for max health, int and hp on hit, swapped hp on hit to crit dmg, then tempered with golem dmg and minion atk speed. Thing is a beast and huge increase to golem dmg
I just posted this comment on Raxx's recent video "Minion Necromancer Build Guide". Wanted to bring it here to see if maybe some thoughts from Macro: So. I'm a fairly casual player and not sure if I'll push far enough to see if this scales. But on the lazy build (with corpse explosion), the thing I've been doing is using Howl from Below. I'm at level 75 right now. With the most difficult content I encounter: I walk into a room and decrepify everthing. Set my Golem to attack and take a step back as much out of danger as I can get. And then spam my corpse explosion as fast as I can hit it as by this point there are just piles of corpses everywhere and with Howl, they all turn into dozens of heat sinking missles that melt everything. Even against bosses, with the reapers I get tons of corpses.

Hey awesome stuff and thank you for the explanations in super detail. I feel like I "missed it somewhere" but can someone confirm this basic rotation as you enter a fight? Is it
1. Decrep on a bunch of monsters
2. (What is making enough corpses to cast Corpse Tendrils? Is Hewed Flesh making them once you Decrep and it starts ticking damage?)
3. Corpse Tendrils to pull pack to the center
4. Raise Skeleton to buff all minions
5. Bone Prison (if you're Chroniks with Plunging darkness) or Blight (if you're MacroBio) to weaken the pack further
6. Golem to head in and kill the pack in the middle of the tendrils/prison/blight pool?
7. Sometimes Army of the Dead where you need it, also adds more corpses
8. Run around and collect blood orbs from Embalmer aspect, and decrease AOTD cooldown
9. Evade out of bad stuff sometimes, dont stand in fire, etc.
Just not sure how I would get those corpses all the time... Mostly from Hewed and... if you have Hulking? Oh and you use Reapers for carving, but Chroniks uses defenders to taunt...
Otherwise, sometimes I am OOM, or sometimes things are in cooldown so I get out of order or can't drop things correctly. So if you're waiting on a Corpse Tendril cooldown, do you just spam Raise Skeleton? Thxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How is the season feeling overall though?
Not trying to be a downer on the minion guide video (I will be playing this build in some form for sure) but just kinda curious. I wasn't super excited about all of the changes and kinda shifting things away from the D2 side into the D3 side of things. Pushing the leveling experience out of existence and having end game systems is cool and all but... I dunno. Feels like in prior seasons I had a journey to level 100 but now that journey is over in like 24 hours-ish just going off of how fast you said you've been leveling.
Guess I'll have to try it for myself.

Just did the capstone dungeon this morning at level 30. Died a couple times but wasn't very difficult at all. I'm loving the season so far
Good stuff. I got ring of Medeln at level 21, and it's still on me at level 69 (nice). I have no idea how good it actually is at this stage vs ancestral rings, but everything dies so fast at the moment that I'm not too bothered with swapping things around.
Something I have noticed is that the damage stats of the unique scales somehow. I don't know if it's via level, or my gear, but it started out at 2k damage every 6 attacks, and now is up to 25k. Which is a HUGE bonus from previous seasons. Without that, my ring would have been long gone 20 levels ago.
yeah I think the flat damage effects are no longer flat damage but scale with our weapon damage, nice change that the item will be good even if we get one at low level

I've been leveling with the bone spear mages setup and after about 5 hrs I'm almost 51. Been having a blast so far!

Hi, before I quit I really enjoyed minions golem with bone spirit, corpe explosion, tendiles build. after buff instead of going just golem or minion all in, can I combine with bone spirits and corspe explosion with minons? thanks
You can try it. That's a lot of stuff to fit on a build without endgame gear, though.
Hey Macro! Saw you in-game sitting at your stash. My friends and I were ecstatic to see my fav diablo 4 creator. Also, quick question: Is addictive %Dmg affix beneficial at all? I know it raises attack power, but that doesn't necessarily matter, right?
Aye! Hope your season is going well. Additive damage is valuable, but it gets saturated quickly. You should mostly ignore it in your Paragon board and make sure to get priority stats like attack speed and critical strike chance before additive damage on gear, when possible.

is this build viable in non season game play?
Perra's build is hella fun and no need to worry about curses either. The Iron Wolves seasonal gear just makes this build go through the roof.

Is Mendeln just not worth it at all? Seems like a big chunk of damage.
You mentioned cult leader capping at 100% now. Does that mean there is no longer two separate attack speed buckets? Or will we still need 100% from gear and another 100% from paragon and whatever other sources benefit bucket two?
Cult leader calling like the tooltip said, does not change the two cap system.

Made it to WT3 before 30 and WT4 by 45. Even first unique dropped was a 1 sec Sacrilegious soul. Nuts!
Is this the 2 billion crit build ? ❤, I also thought blighted was best on 2 handed weapon, I was following Robs minion build for 1 shot but ir felt squishy and hard to do on t100 atm
So world tier 4 level 50 with this build and the cap stone was a breeze - I completed it whilst in a work teams meeting :D
I played Mion most of season 3, and got bored using it yesterday when i got to level 50. Decided to go to Bone Spear build, no mions and having more fun. Only issue is essence regeneration.
Maxroll has both the golem and shadow mage build at S tier. Obviously I won't have the 1 shot potential on mages, but do you think the shadow mage build is worthy of its S tier ranking? I kinda want to play that build, but not it endgame bosses and the pit are gonna be significantly harder.
Using minions and absolutely crushing the capstone at level 35-36 had me cackling. This is 100% season of the necro.
Got Mendel from the rep cache at level 28, this season looks promising 💀

Am I understanding correctly that raise corpse is the only method for consuming corpses to get the chance of blood orb spawn? Never played this type of build before so I'm probably missing something.
Corpse tendrils can also generate orbs
I used minion shadow and did capstone at 33. Using sever for now.
How much efficiency do you think im losing by using Ring of Sacraligious soul to automate my skellies and double my corpse tendrils over using a temperable legendary with an affix?

Have they changed Fortify? It used to be as long as you have more fortified life than life and you'd be fortified. Aka: it's almost always active instead of going away. I used to keep fortify for entire NMD100 unless I used a potion.
Hi just want to put it out there, I have tested some things and Summoning Damage is SIGNIFICANTLY better in terms of damage compared to raw Golem damage.
For comparison we had weapon that had 90% extra damage GA vs 50% summoning damage and it was IP below 900 yet still there was damage difference by about 30k
TL;DR golem damage trash/ summoning 10X better
So i got ring of mendelin at lvl 21 and I noticed its damage has been scaling up with my damage. Does this mean it will stay relevant or will I need to find a better one later on?
You will need sacred or ancestral version, its gonna be stronger. And the rolls gonna be much much higher.

Any reason why the maxroll build is using bone prison with the blight aspect ? It feels like you waste an aspect slot and puts blight on a cooldown.
put the aspect for blight with bone prison will reduce cooldowns plus when blight pools automatically, it adds a 20% damage bonus as well...I use it now and loving it
the reason is to get the CDR and vuln application from bone prison, then he picks the blood orb version of tendrils to get more CDR via Fastblood aspect. Not 100% sure it's worth and I don't love the idea of running around picking up blood orbs, but it might be necessary to spam AOTD as much as possible

I'm so happy that Necromancer finally feels like a Necromancer! This season is easily the most fun I've ever had with this game. Kinda nervous, though- Feel like the devs may nerf this into the ground soon.
How do you add 2 tempered perks ? It’ says mine will be removed if I do another ?

Physical Corpse Explosion is funking nasty as well now I blew through all 100 levels of the pit my corpse explosion is smacking for 20 million each on average sometimes even more

yes, since minions inherit 100% of your stats each point of attack speed = minion attack speed as well

Absolutely
I kinda forsaw my experience. I don't even like how strong minions are, I feel bored leveling. Im hoping they shift the power from minions themselves, to your skills that could synergize with them. Like Sever has potential, imagine a "reapers cast sever when you do" aspect or item, and strengthening the minion nova and spear ones.
