It's interesting knowing him since x1. The direction they chose to go in the show kinda surprised me, cuz to me he had a nice/ soft personality, but that was what I interpreted over the years and so I just hope for the best for everyone in this thing ✨. Also, his solo music is really great too. (Beautiful scar, memories, lemonade). 💜
I loved watching TNX cause they gave us something we didn’t know, since Phobia has no MV or performance. It made their stage sm more interesting than Tempests one
It's sad that Tnx and Tempest performance overlapped so much, even tho I'm a Tempest stan the new six deserved the win I was happy for them. I might say this biased but I don't think Tempest performance was bad or "floppy", they played safe, which is fine, most groups do it, was I expecting more? Ofc but they portraited Maniac sooo good. I hope they get more creative with future performances! If I start talking abt Phobia this will be SO LONG, it was perfect, everything from the props, extra lines and the song arrengment it's beautiful. Plus the fact that they choose a b-side with NOTHING more that the song itself omg, a great risky movement that they pulled out perfect. This is what I call a Road to Kingdom performance. I liked 8Trun energy but it was ok, it felt more like a cover or special stage more than a competition performance tho :( oh but I feel so bad for the ace, he did really good!! Younite, great concept, I loved how the performance moved around the ace but everyone stood out, the storyline was perfect. I also loved how Bite me was portraited with another concept bc they weren't confident with the original (which is a sexy concept), Younite concept fits perfectly!! I'm so happy for their win too!! *edited. I added a bit more bc I wrote it in a rush lol
btw after watching almost every kingdom/queendom season, one thing that always stuck out to me is that novelty will always be a good thing rearranging the concept, choreo, song, doing new things will usually fetch you a better result, and TNX vs Tempest encapsulates this the best
Some ppl complaining for TNX using too many props but in my opinion, non of there are not out of the concept and everything is included for portraying their concept well ...This is art ❤
I like how well written you pointed out the shiny and uniqueness of the new 6. teams that did actual musicals are winning. the 2nd battle was tough 8turn could have won if against a more dance style performance. but younite for me was the visual production - musical mvp of this episode. now the group are starting to distinguish them self, hope that they go all in in the next episode as well.
aside from the concept, younite absolutely ATE with the song arrangement !! like they added high notes and a whole bridge in bite me (og didn’t have one) and they sang the “chant” part in a chorus, it just elevated the whole performance sm
thank you for liking younite's performance :) the boys worked really hard for it and always put on a good performance. eunsang who you seem to like is actually one of the most soft-spoken and gentle members who is just extremely talented with performances. He has written a song for their album too and as I'm sure you've been told he was in X1 I hope you will give their music a listen! thank you for enjoying their stage
Only know them by name unlike the other groups but goshhh Eunsang is on fireeeee and the rapper are way cool!!! Congrats!! Never knew he was from X1... Also heard of what happened to their group :(
THENEWSIX performance was genuinely immaculate. There wasn't a single stage prop that went to waste and the full cam view was so pretty. Mnet did quite bad with the full ver cause there were many points i could see in the full cam that were missing in full ver , if I was present in the audience i would have voted for THENEWSIX without a single thought. The Ace had also helped produced the song, and whose genius idea was it to add mozart cause that was brilliant. The rap part was amazing and if u understand the lyrics its even more interesting, the ace was fighting with his shadow during the duo part and that roaring kinda rap, they both Slayed .Considering how wide TNX scope is for their performances, seeing "lazenca + Growl" during LOUD had raised the expectation and this performance definitely exceeded it. They never fail to amaze me. Ill stop now 😅 YOUNITE performance had me mind blown. I really love concepts like this. I don't even know who eunsang is but i just remember his name for no reason
Sorry but your bias really showed up😅 I agree with your points for the Tempest stage. The concept wasn’t well thought, crown felt out of place. Overall it was kinda mixed up. BUT 8turn’s was worse clearly. It was straight up cover with an added dance break. No storyline, no message. The only cool part was 5:11. It didn’t felt like a Kingdom stage at all. And you only said they slayed🥲 But i expected you to criticize them like Tempest too
I'm fr falling in love with younite, they continue to give us everything that is needed in this show🔥 All of the performances were so great, it was such a ride this week, i really felt bad for the groups that lost, but the wins were so deserved🥹 I'm too pissed that in the end they cut the ep like that tho, hate to wait another week😭 Also seoho is too pure for this world🤧
i just finished watching ep 2 and Eunsang served so much cvnt like mans brings the drama AND the heat he does NOT play my god i fell in love. As a Oneus stan, Younite and The New Six absolutely blew me away
I remember someone said on X that during Mixnine, Seoho chose Jaeyun to be on his team and now, hes rooting for 8turn, it kinda warm my heart 😍also as Oneus fans, I would say 8turn and TNX are the biggest discovery for me this RTK why didnt I heard about them sooner, also Younite really didnt come to play this episode Eunsang is insane, I know him from pdx and he actually looks shy and all but here damn it he ate
So… big Stay here! My thoughts on the Stray Kids match up were pretty firmly in TNX’s favor, but not because Tempest did a bad job necessarily. In any other context they did a solid job, and if it were like… an end of the year cover performance I’d have liked it more - it just felt too much like a cover rather than their own song. Meanwhile TNX claimed Phobia in this cover. Which is why doing a less popular, never performed song was a clear advantage to me. Both groups had slightly overlapping concepts, but I found they overlapped in that they were both clearly inspired by previous stray kids performances. TNX took clear inspiration from Skz’s round 1 performance in kingdom Legendary war and Tempest took inspiration from Skz’s 2022 MAMA performance.
What sucks about like rtk or kingdom/queendom is a lot of the deciding factors are actually like the idols’ company’s creative teams and production teams… like I’m sure some of these boys had some ideas but u also have to have a budget and the org structure in place. :/
same here, stanning 8turn so bad, and here to support them. Don't know Eunsang too but OMG he's great, !! I will never forget his performance... Yungyu is my bias anyways...
8turn's ace yungyu did SUCH an amazing job but eunsang & younite really did not come to play this round; 8turn's loss is unfortunate but younite truly did deserve the win!! side note: 8turn's aces have rly been doing it for me so far, like both myungho & yungyu have slayed so hard and i look forward to 8turn's performances in the future rounds :D
Tempest really disappointed me this week after winning me over so much last week. If they would have gotten rid of the crown and changed the choreo to match the concept instead of keeping all the killing points it could have been so much better I think the best kingdom performances always change the original song. Like The Boyz with shangri-la. They took some elements of VIXX performances of it but made the track softer and dreamier, and did choreography in a contemporary lyrical dance style and the end result was so fresh and beautiful, but you could see where it came from. And Bite Me was good but there was 4 or 5 points where I thought the ace was being turned and then "ope, no he's still here let's do it again" it felt like it got off to a cool start and span it's wheel plotwise. The end was really cool though
Earlyyyyy and also i agree that tempest's dance break felt out of place+it's the only performance where i forgot what even happend in it out of all the other 3 so yeah..
i haven't seen u since ur boys planet videos so it's been a min and it's funny that the first thing i see is you voicing the exact same opinions as me, especially for tnx vs tempest. i'm actually glad that these groups aren't rlly well known because it allows for a more non-biased voting system and so far I totally agree with the winners
for the next ep i'm looking forward to all performances and im rooting for oneus (stanned them before and their growth is impressive) , but i like cravity's song selection the best (sugar rush ride was one of my top songs last year!!) watch it by the boyz was a mid song for me but i hope the crewone can deliver a stellar performance
I really had hopes for tempest's performance, cause skz songs are so more rebellious. But they chose Maniac and perfomed also same concept that skz used by themselves at Mama. It's so weird.
I'm not familiar with Younite at all, and of course MNET Plus had zero subs (I hate YOU!), so I had to go with their body language and had no idea with what they were saying, but they seemed a much more mature group as to how they approached their process. The one member with the ash color hair in the bowl cut (miyane, I don't know your name!), he seemed articulate to the group with his reasons for going forward with a particular concept and members seemed to chime in with their support. Mind you, this particular member also did some really nice vocals/ad libs in the performance to support their ace, this guy (please let me know who he is) has leader-nim qualities (if he isn't, maybe he's a sub leader??). Parts of the Younite performance was going into the slightly theatrical (Broadway/Thai puppet theater) but they rescued it with their vocals and that dance break exit. I'm really glad they didn't replicate the ENHYPEN choreo and did their own. I already let you know my thoughts about the orange homage with 8Turn's performance, I liked their performance. As for The New Six, I also let you know earlier my thoughts on their performance, which to me is a perfect RTK stage - it was tricked out but balanced, it had a call back to their previous stage with the butterfly and I was just awed in general and am streaming all versions on MNET. The New Six RUclips channel is also putting out member content during RTK, they just dropped HWI's Rap Sh!t MV, check it out! Tempest, I love you but your agency needs to get on the ball, you're getting better streaming numbers because of your fandom because they also love you, but we refer to Marley's critique, periodt.
I’m assuming the ash coloured hair guy you’re talking about is Eunho (guy at 5:49 on this video) ? He is the eldest of the group and is also one of the leaders (him and Eunsang are both the leaders of younite) if it’s not him then now you know who Eunho is and if the one you’re talking about appears in this video please share the timestamp 😭
@@chickbearr I looked up the members and yes, I am referring to Eunho. He looked so composed and as I said earlier, articulate and boy, can he sang! He has a nice tone and his ad libs were something else!
No cuz whyyyy would they put 8turn and Younite against eo, like don’t do that to meeeeeee, but they both did such a good job so ig something good came out of that yay 😖
also if Brand New Music make Younite come back to their ~yOuNg AnD cOoL~ concept after this show just let the boys go and find a new company because they are PROVING they can do better
Actually I have always been a Eunsang fan, but I feel the younite group always doing that young and cool theme is wasting their talents, they should go more edgy and sexy like this performance. I worry about Eunsang that he will give up because the music industry is so competitive and become a psychologist because that is what he is studying in university part time, but he is so talented…is it too much to hope that this program might be able to save him…
0:34 Bain was also in Build Up Stray Kids Versus: Tempest sang live which (in my opinion and standards) means they automatically win because TNS did not. Enhyphen Versus: 8turn won for me just purely because it felt more cohesive in terms of dance and as a group performance, Younite felt very ace and his backup dancers which is something I really despise in KPop. Yeah this week's episode was ridiculously short even for an mnet show.
Thank you for the video. Your analysis was so good. I have one question: the winners you mentioned, were they your choice for winner or the actual declared winners?
I disagree with the bside thing. Performing a popular song is automatically going to bring more attention from fans and non fans who know the song and i think thats important since alot of people know for example gods menu but phobia only half the fandom
I'm adopting eunsang 🥸🫶
