- Get ready for another really long, epic video showing off my Notebook Collection! For nearly a decade, I’ve been collecting tons of beautiful notebooks (almost always grabbing them on sale!), but I’ve struggled to actually use them.
They’re too pretty! I know I’m not the only one who feels this way! But in 2019, I’ll be challenging myself to use up at least 1 full notebook every single month. I’ll also be giving away at least 1 notebook every month next year here on my channel, so comment below and let me know which notebooks you like best!

I could watch these kinds of videos all day if I let myself, but now I want to go to buy more notebooks in the worst way. LOL I really liked that really tall black one. Can't remember the name of it now and I'll take your fails. I have almost no sense of smell. LOL You have a lovely collection and I think I'll join you on that challenge. :)
I’ll try this challenge as I’m buried in notebooks but truly can’t imagine filling one per month. That’s how many pages per day??? I probably couldn’t fill one a year! But I’ll keep an open mind here and see what happens.

Not only am i obsessed by notebooks, im obsessed eith sticky notes, pens, pencils, and markers. Modt of my notebooks are not pretty, but when on sale, i feel the need to buy some. I would love to have an Erin Condren notebook but cant constitute spending a lot of money for a notebook.

Washi tapes will make your notebooks pretty. Posca pens and metallic markers are your friends as well.

Notebooks from Dollar Tree is one of my weaknesses.
I love the notebooks form Dollar Tree (it's OK all have different choices) :)
Me to girl I'm actually on my way to the Dollar tree because I'm filming Dollar tree makeup video but I always end up in the agenda and notebook section because I am a sucker for notebooks especially when they're only a dollar and the Dollar tree has amazing ones

I, too, love notebooks. Whenever I go to Barnes & Nobles that is the first thing I look for. And I am a reader. I do the same thing in Half Price Books. Now for which is my favorite, I just couldn't pick. I love them all. What a great collection!
It's so awesome to find someone else that can look at her notebook collection and remember exactly where the notebook was bought. I have a moving box full of empty notebooks and I know where each one was bought. I don't have favorites as each notebook "speaks" to me for different projects.

I feel personally attacked by the notion of "too many notebooks" ;-P lol. While I'm not nearing 100 yet, I do have a bookshelf full of unused lovelies, and half a book shelf of "starters". My absolute favorites are my Fringe notebooks from TjMaxx, with the textured covers; the ones that feel like pebbled leather sing a siren song to my heart (and wallet). Anyway, YES, I am on board with this challenge! I see many morning pages in my future... :-)
The best 50 minutes I’ve spent in ages! Sitting here drooling at your collection! Here in Scotland we don’t have most of the stores you buy from but still we get different books for sure. I set a goal of no notebook buying this year and I’ve only a couple of weeks to go lol.....I did get gifted some which has helped but I’ll be back to buying again soon I’m sure....thank you so much for sharing your amazing collection and I hope your giveaways are open to international subbies too xxx💕

Sarra, I asked my husband about the binding of your favorite notebooks since he worked in publishing for a few decades. He told me it is called case binding and it is very expensive. Thus is why it typically is not used in lower priced notebooks. Perfect binding is the cheaper method, done by machines, and used for soft covered books - mush less expensive and not as desirable as you noted in many of your descriptions in this video,

I am sooooo happy I am not alone😂. I love the stationary isle in the stores more than any other isle. You are fantastic any of the ones you have would be a gift but I would probably hate to use it too💕
I love having notebooks. When writing the first draft for my books I actually write it by hand.

EC has not fixed the rose gold. It tarnished within a few months, and I agree the coiled books are really light on pages but I like them because I can get a “free” cover for my life planner. That’s really the only time I order that option (when I want a cover).
The little hardbound notebooks are my favorite for journaling. 😊
The binding system that lets the notebook lie flat is called “coptic stitching “. My spelling may be off, but I think it’s right.

My love for note books, planners, stickers, pens and markers has grown even more after watching this! Love my Moleskine (sp?) books and another brand I can never remember the name Lintho-something... well maybe not close but something like that, i got one for Christmas and it has dots... perfect for my new bullet journal, I am taking soooo many ideas for different journals and planners thank you!

ohhhh..eye candy!!! i love notebooks too. today i actually had to restrain myself and not buy a couple of cuties I saw at BN. I got myself a calligraphy pen this Christmas, to write in my notebooks. 😊I've been practicing my lettering .

I started this all from watching coloring book channels...And now I'm here! I guess there's another channel to get obsessed with.
I am so glad I'm not the only one! Notebooks and pens are my obsession. I recently found some notebooks at B&N that I love - they are hard bound, lined, and lay completely flat. The only thing I wish they had was a pen loop. But they have nice covers - one has the "Not all who wander are lost." They are by Studio Oh!.
Jana Lewis You can buy pen loops that attach with a sticky tab.
Thanks for showing us your notebooks. I enjoyed it. I've been journaling since 1975, when I was a senior in high school. Currently my favorite source of notebooks are from Peter Pauper and Paperblanks. Currently, I'm writing in one I had for 20 years before using it from ArtWorks, but I don't think they are in business any longer. I also have another one from B Dalton I got about 20 years ago in real leather from Fiorentina, which is still available. In the 90s, I went through a period of buying large size record books from office supply stores that had 500 pages. Those didn't hold up as well as I expected - one had the binding completely separate from the cover. In the 80s, I used the typical 5x7 blank books commonly available from book and stationery/greeting card stores. I filled dozens of those. I once got one from EBay that had a leather raised binding and corners combined with a paisley pattern on front and back that looked like something from the 18th century that came in a clear plastic case. After finishing that, I put it back in the plastic to keep it nice.
I prefer hardcover notebooks, as they'll hold up longer and the covers won't get bent or dog eared. My first notebook in high school was a paper cover composition size notebook with the schools logo on the cover and cheap paper and the cover fell off even before I could finish it. Not especially fond of spiral bound notebooks, either, but we all prefer different things that work best for us.
Maybe one day, I'll make a video showing my favorite notebooks.

I've just started a bullet journal/planner with a smaller travelers that I got from Barnes and Noble and love it. Now I'm so interested in having more options for art work and writing. I love the lay flat binding! Your Scribbles that Matter and Fringe notebooks are ones that I think I'd like to try too. I wonder if there is a larger travelers style that I could combine writing stories and some watercolor.
I am in ABSOLUTE love with the Harry Potter book, it's so beautiful it hurts my heart.

Love this soo much! I'm such a notebook lover as well, I also am a huge 3-ring binder lover! If you haven't tried them you, you might love Muji notebooks, they are soso awesome! Also, a tip for getting the gunk off of the Happy Planner covers, UnDu is a wonderful product, also it's great for removing stickers from your planners if you make an error! I use it all the time in my planning, so love it! Thank so much for sharing, and am looking forward to learning how to use up notebooks, because I admit I have a lot of almost empty ones lying around, but they are just so cute! Ugh, I'm such a sucker for all things stationary!
I have some muji pens but I've never tried the notebooks. Now i need one lol. I would have to get it before the year begins though!!🤣🤣

I think there should be/might be an organization called NOTEBOOKS ANONYMOUS! . Hi my name’s Sandie... Until I found your channel on last day of 2018, I only felt GUILT re the amount of notebooks I own; a lot if them only partially written in. Then to find there is a COMMUNITY of us, well, it made me so relieved that I just went out and bought another. Now I’ve decided that future gift giving will be a notebook to possibly get my friends and family hooked on them as well! Having accepted the challenge to complete one a month excites me! Loved this video! I have just discovered happy planners since I went back to college this year. I have bought 2 of the small planners and don't like the sizes very much and really wanna switch over to happy notes. Definitely my favorite notebook. I love notebooks and recently decided to make a ton of albums with my old photos I have from when we used to actually print pictures.
I can so relate to the fear of using a new notebook. I’ve come to realize that it’s that first pen stroke that paralyzes me.... However with that realization also came freedom cause it’s just paper and just as I found these beauties I’ll find more. I’m still a work in progress and am determined to use my collection.

If anyone's interested by the Hogwarts one, Insights Editions have one for each house and several other Harry Potter designs. They also have a lot of other fandoms and is totally worth the money, they're also fountain pen ink friendly! They're my fave brand of notebooks.
Wow! You are my kind of collector!!! I recognized many of your brands and I agree with many of your comments concerning your collection. My favorites right now are spiral bound, about 200 pages each, and lined (college, or a bit tighter.)... Fun! Fun! Fun!

Hi I just saw my first video on your channel and really liked it, your enthusiasm is infectious. I am a notebook collector but unlike you I don’t hesitate to use them and when finished I archive them in my library. I think that it is interesting to see how a notebook goes through physical transformation as it is used. Of the ones that you showed my favourites would be the Scribbles and the Clairfontaine.

I do too love notebooks and I love to write since school days... I love the moleskin which I never had the chance to get one. The pink with rose gold lines from papyrus which has the blank pages give me the freedom to not only write but the space of creativity.
You asked about the binding...Coptic-Bound is what that's called where it's stitched and glued to lie 180 degrees flat.

A few ideas for the $17 triple notebook regret at 31:00. I'm not sure how big they are, but you can put them down in a ziptop bag (they come in gallon, 2 gallon and tote-your-sports-gear size) and drop in: 1) baking soda (fill several 100% cotton natural tea bags or tea filters about half so it will lay flat against the notebook and let it sit in the closed ziptop bag with the notebook for a week or so. Change out the soda 1x a wk.) Then 2) fill the bag with Downey odor protect active fresh (specifically) and let it sit for a few weeks or months. Change out as needed). Make sure to spot test. You could probably just do the second option for a few months to a year and it be less work on your part. Change the beads out if they start to go stale. Since the notebooks are just sitting in the stash anyway, they can be sitting with a purpose. I hope that helps!

I recently started to journal ( about 2 months ago) and i'm not really picky about the notebooks or journals that i use. I usually subject notebooks or composition books from Walmart, which i grab when the school supplies come out. As far as it goes for the actually journals i use, i just get them from Target's One Dollar Spot ( or Bullseye's Playground as its called on the website), Five Below or once again Walmart...once in a blue moon i'll get a few from Dollar Tree. Though Dollar Tree for me is more a sticker place. I even use Sketch books as journals, really i use anything that catches my attention. I enjoy watching your video and now i know where to look for more journals/ notebooks.

Funny, I'm 41 and love wide lines because I like writing large. I guess I am still a kid at heart!
My 14yr daughter had one of the ones you call “stinky” a yr ago and she loved it. She stuffed a bookmark size piece of felt into a Tupperware container and got into my apple cider oil. When she was sure the felt smelled good and strong she let it dry in the Tupperware. When dry she sandwiched it between one of my thin bread cloths just to be safe the oil wouldn’t get smooshed out or soaked directly into the notebook and put that inside the notebook. Then she put it in a Walmart bag and shoved it into a dresser drawer she doesn’t really use. It ended up smelling like apple cider.

I have so many notebooks too! Maybe not as many but a good amount. A few years ago, I went through my stack and set aside about a dozen to give away to friends. I still have way too many notebooks because of course I've gotten new ones since then but I'm a little more strict on what I get now. :)

I have a book bag full of those little notebooks that you find at Marshall’s, I use them to journal in, or to take church sermon notes. Hey, I didn’t know that Tul Had such a cool cover! I love it, I went over to the site, it’s $24.95 right now. Wished I would’ve found that smaller one on clearance like you found! Great deal!
You could use the thick lined Holo sparkle notebook for quite keeping and drawings.

I have soooo many notebooks. I think I need to do this challenge, too. I know the Hubs would be happy to see me actually using my pretties. I started last night with a course I'm taking. That one will be all workshops.
Any spiral bound that are just great for quick note taking that I can just tear out the pages if I mess up lol...that would be something I 'd love to own for sure...and any with colored papers or cute designs on the covers or pink or purple...aka not too picky lol

Awesome thank you! And scripting is a manifesting process where you write things out as if it were your current life. So, "I love living in the new house we bought by the ocean. When we first looked at it, I just knew it was the perfect place for us. Our family is happier than ever here " stuff like that!

Great video, loved seeing all of your lovely notebooks! I have the pink Kate Spade notebook and have been afraid to write it in as well, but started using it recently for notes on research I'm doing and love it. I also love the ban.do rough draft notebooks, I used my last one recently. I try to only buy notebooks when I need them, but watching this makes me want to buy up a bunch to have on hand. I'm sure it will be fun picking a new one each month to use! My problem is hoarding planners, I always start out the year with multiple ones, trying to figure out what works best, maybe one day I'll figure it out, ha.
My suggestion for the Papyrus notebooks is to cut the paper out of them and at least you will have salvaged that part. What I tell myself when getting rid of something I love or using up something I love (notebooks, washi) is that 'there will always be more of ....'. Great video!
I love Plum Paper Planner notebooks because you can add up to 100 extra pages, so you have a really chunky coiled notebook!
