Well out of all this I'll say pretty confidently that a guy that that rich and narcissistic would never fake their death to live in obscurity. Fame and recognition and flat out "winning" is what drives these guys, be that a good or bad way is the only difference. 100% the crew were in on it, I'm well versed in differential pressure as apart of my job, just a change of 1 atmosphere can double the pressure needing multiple men and or prybars to open. Most likely it was a crime of finance but not enough on that here to see proper motivation. The only reason he'd fake his death is if he was running, but then that'd mean he was broke. Guys like that use money as a shield. So that'd mean if he was running that the money was gone. If ppl were still getting rich off his death means money was still there. So most probable is either (most likely) someone wanted his cash or (less likely due tycoon negotiation skills) he wasn't playing ball with a big organization, possibly US government, that's why they landed by the base without big trouble. The US has a very long history of "Oh no he died" bet it'd be most likely in that case that hed be killed on that beach. Other case is they had to fly low to offset the delta-p of the door kicked him out, got caught by the base seeing erratic flying and radioed, so made up the story and did an "emergency landing" to explain the flight pattern since he was gone anyway it was a good story as long as everyone stayed to script.
Rothstein was killed after a all night card game ending in a massive gambling loss. He called the opponent a cheat and left the table. He definitely knew the shooter and why but he wouldn't give the cops a name on his death bed.

I always laughed at the wrong door theory.
I think he was either kidnapped off the plane or was kidnapped as he was going to it. I think the plane was still on the ground as he went to the bathroom. He was then kidnapped and then taken off the plane. People in the plane were either in on it or told not to say anything or else they'll end up the same. He had no security with him. His body was found in a completely different body of water than what they flew over.

This guy sounds like the Chinese government.
Sounds like he was killed and stowed in the plane until landing then taken off board at a later time. People on board were paid to look the other way.
They said the examination showed he was alive when he hit the water. Only thing that'd show similar while being killed would be water boarding then. Yet all that said is relying upon the coroner not being paid off. But itd have to be saltwater found in his lungs and stomach which is pretty easy to notice the difference. Also hiding a body on the plane then landing on a military base would be hard. MP's would mostly search the plane in search of smuggled drugs or black market items. MP's take their job way too serious.

A few questions I have;
1) We need to know how high the plane was flying?
2) Did planes back in those days pressurize a cabin? I'm assuming not?
3) If the door of the Fokker opened outwards, there would be absolutely no way any human would be able to open it mid-flight. Even if it's not pressurized in the cabin, the amount of pressure just from the outside air would make it impossible; no? Something we should test? Because if it's not possible to open, it's proof that this wasn't done in the air; and opens up an entire new case of worms.
I honestly think the door was impossible to open.
