Thanks for making this video. I’ve been using the cheap multi tool. Wondering if I can DIY a press. A larger one. 😀 -Eric.

I hope you find some more reliable tools soon! There are lots of great press diy options - tortilla style presses, vintage washing machine mangle as the basis for a roller press, or hand lever style like mine.

Hi Nicole, thanks so much for this video, it’s fantastic. Can you let me know please what size wide U tool you recommend/use. I’m going to take your advise and slowly build my collection. Ohh and in other videos you use a tool that gouges out the sides to give a clean edge, could you let me know the size of that one. Thanks again Paula x

      Hi Paula,
Ultimately, all the tools have different sizing systems and it can all be a bit confusing. I think the tools you're talking about are both yoshiharu ones and are simply called Large Gouge and I think the other one is the Medium V. You might also be talking about the E.C Lyons gravers - my favourite one is the 46.

@@nicoleirwood thanks so much! I live on the sth coast of NSW and there’s no shops near me that sell tools like these. So I’m having to buy online. I ordered some of the Pfeil ones you use from Carbatec. Yes it’s the graver I couldn’t find, thank you, I will look them up. I’ve been looking at MES and Japanese tools but being such a newb I was nervous about what to choose. Thanks again for your videos, I’ve been bingeing them this week lol ❤️

Those are the places I buy from, too. The Japanese yoshiharu ones my brother bought me for Christmas from a shop in NZ. I would avoid the EC Lyons lino tools, but their gravers are good. Glad I've been able to help 😊

Good video, but a link or at least the name of the recommended tools in your description, would of been nice.

I'm glad you liked the video. I'm always happy to answer questions, but I'm not particularly keen to give links because I hope that people will source their tools locally where possible. The Pfiel tools are a 12/1 and a 11/0.5, the roller is a speedball soft rubber roller (since this video I have also added in a hwahong rubber roller that I think is great), the press is custom but is a hand lever press.
