This video is perfection...nobody is talking about process and notes. Pleeeease do more video like this. I love perfume but the perfumery history is my real passion. Lavender. Tuberose. Amber. Oud. Love it!
This video was very interesting. I am certainly a fan of the damask rose, preferring the lighter, fresher scent. I would like to watch similar videos on other typical ingredients in perfumes: jasmine, musk, ambroxan, etc.
I thought you are going to talk about Taif rose too :) I was born in Taif it is a mountain city and roses are grown very high on the mountains and bloom for very short time end of March where they also have a festival for this occasion. The smell of that rose is sooo DEVINE
I really love these informative videos. This explains why sometimes I hate rose fragrances and think it smells like old ladies and other times I love it and think it smells fresh pretty and feminine.
Hi Soki! Thank you so much for this video it was extremely helpful. I have a small rose garden that I have grown for about 20 years and never knew that only 2 types of rose were used in perfumes. I loved this video and would enjoy more like this. Hope you have a nice day
I didn't know why I liked some of the rose perfumes and couldn't stand the others. Now it's all clear :) Thanks so much for such an informative video Soki! 🌹
Thanks for doing this, Soki. I’ve often wondered about the different rose types used in fragrances. You did a great job, using concise but interesting info. about the history and hows and whys of all things rose. Loved your visuals as well. I really enjoyed this a learned much. Thanks again!
Could you please do a video on jasmine? I often hear about indolic jasmine, and I have a general idea what that means, but I’d like to learn more, especially when jasmine doesn’t smell indolic.
Wow this video is so informative. I really love how you explain things. You made it very easy to understand. I would love to learn more about other type of scents. Thank you so much
I usually don’t comment anything on videos but this time I had to ! It’s a great video with a lot of interesting information , I had always wondered about the differences in the rose scents. Thank you for sharing 😃
Hi Soki, thanks for a great video. I am glad to learn more about notes in parfums. I would love to watch more videos like this. Yes, please do on tuberose next. That is my favourite note in parfums. ❤
This was great video! I really enjoyed learning how the scent of rose is made. Makes me appreciate fragrances with rose a lot more! I’d love to see how tuberose is made too. Thank you so much! Watching from USA in Arizona.
I loved this video. What about a similar one for Jasmin? I loved the Rose in Clinique's rose perfume (I think they discontinued it?) and in Calyx (also discontinued...) and the Rose in Absolutely Blooming is truly beautiful, so perhaps it turns out my favourite is the Rose de Mai. Ramon Monegal is a niche house that has a perfume called Flamenco, with raspberry and rose, which I suspect is probably a CIA endorsed pheromone cocktail. If I ever wear it people stop me down the street. You should try it!
Hey Soki, what a nice and informative presentation on rose🌹. It would be so helpful if more You tubers made similar presentations. We perfume lovers would like to learn more ! Thanks for the insight.
Such a helpful video. My favorite rose fragrance got reformulated and is basically a whole new fragrance that isn’t similar at all. So I am on the hunt for a new one and have been struggling probably because I didn’t understand the difference between the types of roses.
Thank you very much for the clarification. I am impressed with your knowledge about perfumes and also universal history. Please continue uploading videos like this. Kindest regards from Chile!
This was extremely helpful! Loved learning these details! What drew me to this video was searching for a video where someone reviewed all the Aerin Rose fragrances specifically; I think there are 4 or 5, and I didn't find such a review video.
Great video Soki! Super educational. Thank you for sharing this information with us! I love rose fragrances. My Husband and I grow David Austin roses in our yard. We enjoy them immensely!! Have a great week!!
Awesome video! So educational and interesting. I’d love more like this. Say with all the different woods that are used. It’s challenging to imagine a scent just by the notes so this is great. ❤️
Great content, Sophie! Love the visuals and graphics, it all looks so good/professional. Coincidentally, I'm testing Valentino's Rock N Roses vs. Miss Dior Rose N Roses tonight! 😄💖
This is great Soki. Thank you for the backstory of where these scents derive. I would love to frolic through those fields. I can only imagine how divine the smell must be.
thank you Soki it really was very interesting and news for me! i think i like may rose cos it' seems rare. but Roses are my favourite flowers. take care😘😘
Many hybrid tea roses have been bred for flower form, rather than scent; the result being many hybrid teas have little to no scent at all. Rose growers and consumers are starting to want scented roses, which can be found in older varieties and newer roses from David Austin.
I thought May Rose was sweeter since I fell in love with it in Flowerbomb. but the fact it isn't, quite interesting 🤔 I prefer May Rose rather than Damask Rose since Damask Rose often found in skincare for freshness but it's a bit sour/lemony as you said in the video.
Very interesting material, thank you! I love roses in perfumes and in general! My favourite is Absolutely Blooming from Dior, so I guess I favour the May rose 😊 But I love all roses and I own a rose garden at home! 😍🌹
I love this series on the distillation of perfume ingredients. You are a good teacher & presenter. I am fascinated by the process of creating perfumes. Please keep up the good work!
Great explanation of the different roses in perfumery! 👍🏻Thank you very much Soki. I am so curious about your scent Empress. I can‘t nearly wait for it!🌸
I didn't know about the two different roses used for fragrance, I think I will prefer the damask rose, I just ordered some Turkish rose purfume...thanks for sharing your knowledge on the subject 🌹
Thank you so much for de-mystifying rose notes. Really helpful. It turns out to be the opposite of what I thought. I had assumed Damask was the deep rose while May rose was the fresh one, based on the names. 😮 Would love more videos like this on other notes and even aromachemicals.
I enjoy both the damask and Mai Rose. I love the Rose in Idôle bit have also recently acquired Absolutely Blooming and love that too. I'd say The damask Rose is more for day time and Rose de mai for night. Also, the Rose oil flosts to the top because it's less dense than water. It's not the viscosity.
🤩You did my video suggestion!🤩 Thank you so much! That was super helpful and very interesting. It is going to be so much easier to interpret listed rose notes in perfumes now. Great job as always. I love your videos. Thank you again :)
Thank you for sharing. I like both and enjoy chanel5 and Dior all in eau de toilette, I prefer light scents. Hope getting the lancome one now that I know it has rose in it. Thank you for the great video💖
Can you imagine being a rose harvester ? The smell of roses early in the morning must have been intoxicating 🌹🥀💐
But then you have to deal with the thorns 🙊
I love rose fragrances and love that you even included a little rose history class
This was great! Can you do orange blossom/neroli etc next?
This video is perfection...nobody is talking about process and notes. Pleeeease do more video like this. I love perfume but the perfumery history is my real passion.
Lavender. Tuberose. Amber. Oud. Love it!
This video was very interesting. I am certainly a fan of the damask rose, preferring the lighter, fresher scent. I would like to watch similar videos on other typical ingredients in perfumes: jasmine, musk, ambroxan, etc.
I like rose scents but always got so confused with different names. This video is so helpful! Thank you!
Yes please tuberose next! Love this idea ❤️
I thought you are going to talk about Taif rose too :) I was born in Taif it is a mountain city and roses are grown very high on the mountains and bloom for very short time end of March where they also have a festival for this occasion. The smell of that rose is sooo DEVINE

I have miss dior absolutely blooming and the rose 🌹 is absolutely intoxicating 😍 thank you for the educational vid Soki

I've fallen in love with Givenchy Irresistible. The rose is intoxicating. Trying to find similar fragrances that I will love. This is helpful!!!
Try Givenchy Irresistible Deliciousse. It's amazing.
@@Jacklynofalltrades thank you ❤️ I will try that!!
I love the rose that is in givenchy irresistible, whatever rose that is
Over the past year, I've come to realise that I'm such a rose girl...I just love love love every type of rose :)
Hi Soki! Thank you so much for this video it was extremely helpful. I have a small rose garden that I have grown for about 20 years and never knew that only 2 types of rose were used in perfumes. I loved this video and would enjoy more like this. Hope you have a nice day
Wow that was very interesting, you could do next Jasmin
Thank you! I’ll do jasmine 👍

Absolutely Blooming is my signature scent. 😍 very good video. Thank you! A Tubéreuse video would be very nice 👌
Thanks for doing this, Soki. I’ve often wondered about the different rose types used in fragrances. You did a great job, using concise but interesting info. about the history and hows and whys of all things rose. Loved your visuals as well. I really enjoyed this a learned much. Thanks again!
Now I understand the different roses in my Miss Dior perfumes.
Could you please do a video on jasmine? I often hear about indolic jasmine, and I have a general idea what that means, but I’d like to learn more, especially when jasmine doesn’t smell indolic.
Very educational. Thanks Soki! Most familiar with May and Bulgarian Rose. Love, love, love 🌹 fragrances!

Thank you so much for breaking this all down! I'm still learning notes and this was super helpful. I think my favorite is the Turkish Rose 💕
I usually don’t comment anything on videos but this time I had to ! It’s a great video with a lot of interesting information , I had always wondered about the differences in the rose scents. Thank you for sharing 😃
Aw thank you Veronica xx
Hi Soki, thanks for a great video. I am glad to learn more about notes in parfums. I would love to watch more videos like this. Yes, please do on tuberose next. That is my favourite note in parfums. ❤
Great video! I’m trying to figure out what kind of rose I like. Some rose perfumes give me a headache.

thank you Soki it really was very interesting and news for me! i think i like may rose cos it' seems rare. but Roses are my favourite flowers.
take care😘😘
In real life, I love hybrid tea roses. They usually have a sweet lemony scent with a hint of spice. Wish they made perfume that smells like them.
Many hybrid tea roses have been bred for flower form, rather than scent; the result being many hybrid teas have little to no scent at all. Rose growers and consumers are starting to want scented roses, which can be found in older varieties and newer roses from David Austin.

Thank you so much for de-mystifying rose notes. Really helpful. It turns out to be the opposite of what I thought. I had assumed Damask was the deep rose while May rose was the fresh one, based on the names. 😮 Would love more videos like this on other notes and even aromachemicals.
I thought the same as well!

Very much enjoyed the video. A new style with lots of interesting info
My all time favorite is viktor & Rolf Dancing Roses. I still have an unopened bottle!! They’re selling in ebay for $500+!
