i remember vividly being about 5 or 6 years old and singing this in the car with my family. this album meant so much to me as a kid :)
Me to
This was a large part of my childhood
My favorite song when I was like 6 too , came here for the nostalgia glad to see I share it with people
I hope my kids have this memory with me one day
same
I like how much these animal puppets look like the musicians.
Even though this is on their children's album, it's probably one of my favorite BNL songs.
Jim Creegan's voice is awesome! He should sing more!
I never understood why Jim never got more lead vocals. He's a fantastic singer
Wish more people knew more about this banger.
Came back to watch this 10 years later. Not disappointed
Awe, I love this! It brings back so much nostalgia. The puppets are cute too! ❤️
What drugs are you on
That shit is nightmare fuel
Oh man I can't get over how adorable this video is. Steve as an owl in glasses is just amazing.
I like it! I love the entire album and so does my 7 month old son. Though, he enjoys seeing Ed play the guitar in the bathroom the most.
Fifteen years later, and this song is still fantastic. Props to you guys for making my childhood.
This song goes super duper hard.
BNL has been filling my adult life with music for the past 20 years and it is pure joy to sing these new songs with my 2 young boys. This is the best song on the album - yeah Jim! I was on the cruise with these guys in Jan. and have met them a few times over the years - they are all wonderful people and I hope this latest news doesn't taint the way that people regard BNL's great music. Love ya guys!
Proud to say I was raised on this album many years ago by my Dad 👍
I don't care how old you are, If you're not singing along by the end you have no soul.
That bunny part tho I-🌚
Hi from years later-still singing along...
agreed.
Years later... I still love this song
Istg stuck in my head, it's a classic
The whole snacktime album ^^^
And near the end there is a second fox with glasses which is Andy. Great Job guys.
Great. Now this is going to be stuck in my head for the rest if my life.
I hate you too!
Love how they added Andy to it. This is such a great song! I love Jim. He has a great voice
My 2-yr-old, 4-yr-old, & I all love this song!! Thank you, guys! 🐸
We makin it outta da bog wit dis 1
💯 🔥 🗣
So, here’s a shower thought I had. What happened to the puppets? Where are they now? Did the band get them? If so, did Steve give up his puppet when he left? Did Andy get his puppet at all? What about the frog and pollywog puppets? What happened to them? Will they ever be auctioned off? If so, what’s the starting price for Jim’s?
You can tell how much everyone involved in making this - from the song to the video - all have a lifelong love for classic Muppets music skits.
Is it bad I'm 21 and I love this stuff? BNL keeps impressing.
Best album of all time.
I got a Barenaked Ladies newsletter and it says:
Kevin Hearn as the possum, Steven Page as the owl, Ed Robertson as the flying squirrel, Tyler Stewart as the otter, and Jim and Andy Creeggan as the fox brothers?
this is pretty much the only album I listen to when I drive with the kids in the car.
we all sing a long with it.
Im actually teaching the Crazy ABC's and 789 to my students here in Taiwan..
wonderful stuff.
Fantastic clip... Even got a character for Andy - superb!
Why doesn't this have millions of views? ;-)
My cousin did the puppets for this vid, has always loved BNL! This was by design.
What does BuyNLarge have to do with this
edit: I’m stupid sorry
Barenaked Ladies are the most underrated band ever. I absolutely love them guys.
Watching this over and over again I realize each puppet is the member of the band. What threw me off was the singer's voice. Doesn't sound like Ed or Steve. Upon researching I learned is Jim Creegan. I love his other songs. Then I realized the Fox is Jim, Owl is Steve, The possum is Kevin and I am guessing the wallaby is Ed. The animal on the drums (squirrel?) is Tyler.
And the other fox is Andy. Also, I think Ed's a sugar glider.
I thought a flying squirrel.
The drummer's an otter.
This is awesome! And new meaning to violinbass. ;) Jim's sooo kool! Steve makes a great owl, I'd never thought of it, but he does.
We watched this three times in science class since we were about to dissect a frog lol
Poor frog! Jim Creeggan approves.
I loved this song so much when I was a little kid
This is one of my favorite songs from snacktime. I love the dancehall rap in the middle. Excellent and fun.
That owl looks like an eldoris sleep paralysis demon but still this song is so childhood Canada Peak
I don’t have kids, I wasn’t a kid when this song was first released, but I don’t need to be a kid to know this song RULES.
I love the "ribbit ribbit" part it's so funny xD
Great song and video by BNL....this is one of my favorites.....along with This is Where it Ends, A, Intermittently, Pinch Me, One Week, It's All Been done, Raisins, Hello City, Enid , Jane, Brian Wilson. Box Set and Grade 9 and Life, In a Nutshell
This is the best song ever written man... All of their Snacktime songs are the catchiest songs ever. This is by far the best
love the fact they got all 6 members of BNL for this
I lived in Canada when I was 3, this song (and the rest of Snack time) was all I listened to
my favorite thing is that the animal choices and style of the puppets look like the band members. so good.
I love this song! I listen to it all the time!!!🐸
sure, it's not an appropriate name for children, but they have an appropriate sound for children. Their trademark style is perfect, and they weren't about to deny their many fans by changing their name just so they could do a children's album.
By the way, it's not a sugar glider, the pollywog is a tadpole.
I also love the "Shaggy"-style rap in the middle.
I know that there is about a 1 in a million chance that a guy from BNL will actually read this..but just in case... and since i'm an optimist..
I love you guys!!
14 years old and still vibe to this
I'm 26-I'm just glad there is a children's Cd out, for any future kids I have, that won't make me vomit from cheesiness.
The transformation of tadpole to frog bit was fricking AWESOME
Great video! My son (he's 4!) saw your spot on TVOkids to this and when he saw this he did say "THOSE aren't the Barenaked Nadies!!" Very true...although the puppet resemblance to band members is squirrely uncanny!
Is Andy Creegan back then? I haven't heard him since about the Maybe You Should Drive album! Legends!!
OMG I loved this! The little tadpoles! EEEEEEE, so cute!
Well played gentlemen... well played. And my kids love it too!
From what I'm getting, Kevin is the possum with the rap line, right?
If so, please rap more!
an even better video to an already awesome song!
Just starting to hear them again, cant beleive it, but its true! YOU SOOO ROCK!
Jim & Andy = the Fox brothers
Steve = Owl
Ed = Flying Squirrel
Tyler = Otter
Kevin = Possum
Omg i love it barenecked ladies 4ever
OH MAN I LOVE THIS. This is a great album, I highly recommend.
The greatest feel-good song ever .. BNL always awesome !!!
Andy Creeggan on the steel drums, nice!
The song is great, the opossum is cute!
i was 9 when this came out xP
My father walked in to me singing along to this... He gave me a weird look, shook his head and left...
Ahhh this is literally my childhood!!!
Awesome! If only the Muppets were still around, BNL would fit right in! *grins*
I have a feeling more adults appreciate this album than kids...
This song has no business being as good as it is
This is easly the cutes vidio I'v ever seen!
Just love it! The animals really looks lke the band members! hahah so very cute! Great work! Love yoooooooooooou all!
Should I take this song at face value, or is there some deeper meaning to it? Fun song either way, and catchy. The puppets are a nice touch.
I like this!
aww the pollywog is sooo cute! ^.^ love this song; it makes my day!
great video!
Everyone’s parents had this album on CD when they were younger
Absolutely love this vid!!
13 people are actually flies. I can't blame them for disapproving.
Steven Page ( he doesn't sing much here) and Ed Robertson( the one who sings ribbit ribbit in 02:30 )is the leadsingers. The one that sings this is Jim Creeggan, he plays bass. :)
love this song o my goodness my mother said it was my nieces favorite song so I played it and cant get over it
they had to be high when they did this...
but still, like usual - sounds great
Very cool!! 😎😍
pure genius.
I'm with you mate .. there just comes a time to put the top back on.
no way, it's gotta be jim! note: the fox is the one singing, and he's also playing the bass. also, he's a redhead :P
the voice sounds like a fuller version of "Peterborough and the Kawarthas" to boot!
There should be a mashup video with this song and the Amphibia animated series.
this never fails to make me happy :)
Cute video!.
This is just so freakin cute!
ADORABLE :)
a ribbit a ribbit its a tadpole exhibit a transformation that no one can enibit
i love this song
gosh what an amazing childhood I had
fun song :) you guys are the best!
OMG CUTE!
(and I must admit, I'm guilty of playing 'SNACKTIME' at 6am lap swim that I lifeguard for... hahaha!)
Very Good !
Thanks alot! I will try them :)
Wow!~that's fun!
I read it and thought "wow, someone REALLY knows their woodland animals" And then had to laugh when I saw exactly who it was.
Why would I ever watch anything other than this video now?
Do you have a DVD of the videos as well?
Love this. I'm going to get it for my niece and nephew (well and maybe me too :))
loved it!!!!!
amen to that, regardless of what happens to Steve because of this, I will continue to remain loyal to BNL
love it!
I see a fox, an owl, a flying squirrel, a beaver or otter, can't tell, but no bat.
I remember listening to this song as a kid. Im glad i never saw the music video this wouldve given me nightmares
