If your vac brush is not as strong as it used to be and easily bogging down, do this before spending hundreds on a new machine, it will save you $$$! Also clean your filters!
This is actually great information because to most people changing a vacuum belt is like rocket science for instance my nana had a Kenmore Progressive and she got a new $50 Kenmore because the belt was bad😤
Thanks for the video. I would just add that prying the unit apart with a screwdriver was not needed. I just cut the old belt with scissors and pulled out. Then installing the new belt I simply slid it behind the pully and pushed with a screwdriver and it effortlessly went in.
Thanks so much. I needed this, as I have somehow taken my entire vacuum apart. Like, the motor is attached to swivel portion only by the electric cord. I have no idea how this happened. But on the right side it's all clean as the day I bought it.
Thank you! I thought the vacuum was broken. I took it all apart, cleaned it, cleaned that nasty roll thing (lol) and ordered a new belt. This helped me replace it!
Look at the non belt side if roller when replacing ro see a flat piece that is easy ro alien when you know. Wear gloves if you have them to keep the old belt crap off you. This is easy to replace.
Of course i have a SLIGHTLY different model where the top comes off instead. Think mine's toast, the brush itself is hard to turn. I'm not impressed with these machines. It does *okay* on floors but when you try to use the hand attachments, the brush is still spinning the entire time. The hose isn't long enough to be useful either, you're going to be holding the vacuum to keep it from tipping over (the entire time, it's destroying a specific part of the carpet).
Somewhat helpful but your hand was in the way most of the time so It was difficult to tell exactly how you put the belt on. Maybe move the camera tot he side for a clear view.

Happy to help and save some $$$
At least you didn't skip showing the difficult part with the belt like other RUclipsrs.

Thank you.
My belt melted on mine 😥 I'm going to try this hopefully it will still work. I think it melted after I tried to vacuum my rug.
If the height adjustment was set too low yea that can happen

the higher end machines have a brush roll shut off but these cheaper ones do not

Bissell Vacuum Styles 7, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16
Thankyou.8/2024
Mine keep burning
Belts usually burn if something is causing the brush to bog down. Carpet could be too thick or height setting too low.
4:41 ...That's what she said...

What model is yours?
