I had the pleasure of meeting Andy (and boq) in Leeds a while back. Had a couple drinks with them and I can confirm he's exactly how he comes across in these videos. No BS just a straight up sound guy. Had all the time in the world for you and was super appreciative of the viewership. If anyone deserves a Hilux it's Andy 👍🏻
Yes lad, been waiting for Andy to get his own build on the channel! love this content and happy he's got a nice reward for his hard work and contribution to the channel.
I’ve got a 2003 twin cab, 222k miles still going. Check behind the arch and tub flares as moisture sitting behind them over the years rots it away. Rear diff lock can only be activated in 4L, if the light keeps flashing that means it’s not locked and could be for a number of reasons. Most likely seized actuator. Hell of a lot easier to work on than a Land Rover that’s for sure🤣
Buys hilux, immediately starts kicking it. Also gonna need the story on that sticker! So happy for Andy on this, stoked to see one of his builds get documented on the channel
Personally, I'll always go chrome. Just makes it look it look classier. This Hi-lux isn't over done with chrome and has it in just the right places. Mirrors and grille should stay chrome. One of the first things I did with my old Hi-lux(actually a 4Runner but still the same) when I bought it was replaced the old black plastic door handles with chrome ones. Makes it look better when clean and shiny and adds an extra sparkle or two. Chrome especially looks better with that colour too. A chrome(or polished alloy) roll bar on the back would look even better with 4 spotlights lined along the top of the roll bar and put a bull bar(or at least a nudge bar) on the front. Gives them such a unique and aggressive stance. Good choice of car fellas and that motor will last forever if treated right. Those kms are nothing on a diesel, it's just a baby! 👍🏻
So hyped for this truck series! Can't wait to see all the boys reactions to when Andy gets to take this thing on its first offroad track! I agree with boq on painting that chrome front grill piece black, as well as the mirrors. I think that would clean up the look even more than just removing that bumper guard and those side steps did. Maybe for some overlanding mods a bed cover/camper shell would be nice. Maybe even a rooftop tent over the truck bed, and a low profile roof rack over the dual cab for extra storage would be cool too, and then even attach a shade cover/awning similar to boq's one that's on the defender. Whatever you guys end up doing will be fun to watch! Looking forward to this build series!
Bar frame over the bed so a roof tent can go on there would be good for the overland camper side Andy mentioned, also can have a bar over the back of the bed by the cab to prop long stuff on for work when the tent is off
Love that you guys finally have a pick up!! Hilux needs a basic 12v system, some funky LEDs and led light bar, good sound system and some decent bumpers front & back. Maybe a rack over the rear bed with a roof top tent too
Awesome Hilux if it was mine I’d do the following: Light bar, snorkel and simple roof rack, bed roll cage with mounts for a rooftop tent(removable for work), either netting or metal caging on the bed roll-cage sides. In the bed sliding lockable draws on one side for work stuff of camping stuff. I’d get Hilux branded mudguards purely for aesthetics, maybe remove the Lower chrome part of the front bumper. I’d get a sump and steering rack protector. Inside upgrade to heated seats in front and radio that can be hands free.
Made up for Andy, my 07 ex GovT Navara looks rough as guts but has solid bar work on the front and a winch. The practicality is into orbit. It’s my favourite thing despite having more exotic stuff in my garage. Truck life, fk yeah 🤙🏻
Im not even that much of a petrol head but these vlogs are so good, been watching for years. Back in the old bmx days. Andy is a fuckin g what a man to have around
For anyone wondering how to change the Audio track from Italian to English: Change your RUclips app language from UK English to US English. Then in the video options you can select the original English version
Hilux is the epitomy of ute's, the older models have a proper rock solid agricultural feel that the newer models lack, brilliant choice, and well deserved Andy!
Totally agree with you on the red tools feeling cheap. They just don’t feel as good as Dewalt. The battery system seems so loose too. Everyone loves Milwaukee though I guess they perform well and that’s what’s most important.
Yesss, so happy for Andy getting this beast. What a good bunch of lads you are. Can't wait to see this series. Andy smiling like a Cheshire cat for a few weeks 😂😂
Can tell Andy is proper buzzin with the new truck, defo need to see some roof mounted spot lights on this rig in the near future. CANNOT wait for this series!!!
You should set up the dual battery so you have one for your car starting and instruments etc, and the other is a leisure battery for powering extra things you install. Great truck though, glad Andy is finally getting a car on the channel
Stoked for Andy, I had a single cab one of these. The non VX have the embossed Toyota on the tailgates. You’ve already mentioned the rust other than that keep the UJs on the props greased and the timing belt is really easy to do. Shouldn’t need much else!
Toyota hi-aces are legend cars in the country i come from, they're known for their reliability and indestructibility. 1 meter of snow no problem, -30c outside no problem, carrying your hole family no problem. They're the best and i know the hi-lux or tacoma is essentialy the same car. the only thing that can kill one of these cars is rust. Good on ya!
Cb radio, re trim the front seats, small spot light, mud flaps, roof rack/bars, slight tang on the exhaust, de chrome and under seal it maybe even a boot liner. Making me wanna get one now
Looking forward to this build Andy’s a good bloke deserves it…. Get some lanoguard under it treat that chassis and stop the rust will last a bit longer….
The Hi-lux is awesome. Over the cab camper conversion would be insane, not sure how practical that would be for a daily though 😂 Had to add something else, I'm with boq, please for the love of god push that dent out on the bonnet!🙃
Dechrome the grill and mirrors, roof rack and bed cover, and raptor liner the bed, also derust the underside. Lift kit and sound system, will be mint after that. Looks 1000 times better without the rear bumper and side steps, need to do something with the front bumper, maybe colour match, or bull bar and roll bars for the bed, dechrome them too 😅
So minus the Italian 😅 the Hilux needs a suspension and body lift, front and rear bumpers, winch, maybe a cage frame for the tub to mount a tent box too? I love a double cab lux! Great buy!
May want a grinder or some form of heat. cant be seized if its liquid. Might want to think about the side steps. just starting a chassis replacement on my 90 and i am about 6'2" but its along way up and down without the steps fitted and I didnt think I particularly used them. my steps are between slider and step design, if I am dragging them perhaps i need to change the plan/route. sure it will be a fun project you might get similar for the Hilux but thats a different language to Land Rover, may pick up through future vlogs. Sound advice check your nuts once you have a few miles on the new tyres or if you get a drumming sound but might be too late then. Have fun keep smiling. I know the truck driving feeling bought a daily but on occasion will still use the 90 to work and back and usually arrive there with a smile. Think it will be Feb or March before I do that again though, that will be a smile. Might have commented early, great minds etc.
That's the most mechanic thing I've ever seen, cut finger no problem ducktape, I recon you should do a 24 hour transformation video like you did with andys 940, maybe a lift kit off road bumpers, and a winch would top it off
Right why is this Italian?! I HAVENT DONE THIS WHAT THE HELL 😂😂
I thought it was a pisstake at first, until it got to the bit of you two stood in front of the shutter 🤣
Wtf why is the whole vid in Italian 🤣🤣🤣
Back in English now, proper weird 😆
Iwas losing my mind trying to figure out what the hell was going on hahaha
Yeah like wise lol 🍝
I love Andy, he's a proper laugh. You can depend on him, and there's no bullshit. He's a rare friend to come across. Cherish him well Boq!.
He's a beast, absolute bloke can tell he's the kind of friend that would pick you up from the airport at 3am
He’s a class act, proper golden retriever energy
I had the pleasure of meeting Andy (and boq) in Leeds a while back. Had a couple drinks with them and I can confirm he's exactly how he comes across in these videos. No BS just a straight up sound guy. Had all the time in the world for you and was super appreciative of the viewership.
If anyone deserves a Hilux it's Andy 👍🏻
I’m glad Andy is getting something he deserves it, he’s half the reason I keep watching. What a lad 👍
Andy is a legend, straight up. The type of friend everyone needs.
Yes lad, been waiting for Andy to get his own build on the channel! love this content and happy he's got a nice reward for his hard work and contribution to the channel.

Andy is a proper asset to the channel and fully fully deserves this. Fair play boq!
Love a truck so can’t wait for the build!
Buys hilux, immediately starts kicking it. Also gonna need the story on that sticker! So happy for Andy on this, stoked to see one of his builds get documented on the channel
I love driving those hilixes, I like the way the gearstick shakes about when it's idling, feels like a tractor.
Loving the Hilux Andy!! Definitely needs an all steel winch bumper and a roof mounted light bar 🛻
Can see the genuine buzz 🎉always nice to see. Enjoy the truck
Another top tier choice! Looks mean with the upgrades/changes already. This is going to be a beaut when it’s tidied up!
Personally, I'll always go chrome. Just makes it look it look classier. This Hi-lux isn't over done with chrome and has it in just the right places. Mirrors and grille should stay chrome. love andy’s t-shirt designs we need one with the hilux or the volvo 🫡
mama mia, thought you'd travelled to Italy to get Andy his first Ferrari SUV or somthing. Congrats and well deserved!
Enjoyed every min of this vid! You nailed it!
Thank you for the cat drawing Andy!!
Love the new BQR merch!
I would 100% stick a light bar above the windshield, would look sick in the night time!
Andy definitely deserves this man he’s a legend

Andy’s stoked! Looking forward to this. Get a hilux surf, leather interior for it!
Bar frame over the bed so a roof tent can go on there would be good for the overland camper side Andy mentioned, also can have a bar over the back of the bed by the cab to prop long stuff on for work when the tent is off

Happy days , congrats Andy... These are very popular in South Afrca , happy miles
Love this stuff! This is all we do here in Australia!
Snorkel - New front Bumper - paint the Mirrors Black - Use Raptor as a bed liner
Andy is a legend. Absolutely deserved!
Im well exited!!!!!! Proper unit! Would love you guys to take care of the poor front bumper (or install a high clearance one)
Hilux is the epitomy of ute's, the older models have a proper rock solid agricultural feel that the newer models lack, brilliant choice, and well deserved Andy!
Congrats on the truck Andy! I’ve owned an N50, N60 and now an N70, can’t beat an unbreakable Hilux!
Totally agree with you on the red tools feeling cheap. They just don’t feel as good as Dewalt. The battery system seems so loose too. Everyone loves Milwaukee though I guess they perform well and that’s what’s most important.
Andy proper deserves that Hilux! Can't wait to see what happens with the build. Ramen design is sick!
Looking forward to this series! Your guys friendship is ace 👍
A day on the tools or a day in the life, like the old school ones with Andy would be class!! He is the boy!
I am so excited for Andys truck stuff! He is a guy who deserves this, always seems like the most genuine and sound guy.
Yesss, so happy for Andy getting this beast. What a good bunch of lads you are. Can't wait to see this series. Andy smiling like a Cheshire cat for a few weeks 😂😂

Congratulations Andy. Lovely to see.
Love this - can’t wait for the build series! Keep at it! 👏🏻
You should set up the dual battery so you have one for your car starting and instruments etc, and the other is a leisure battery for powering extra things you install. Great truck though, glad Andy is finally getting a car on the channel
Love the new truck! I think a big beefy front bumper with winch set up would go hard
Love the truck and glad andy like it bqrer and andy are a great team well done guys
Stoked for Andy! He really deserves a cool truck, good to see him buzzing!
Stoked for Andy, I had a single cab one of these. The non VX have the embossed Toyota on the tailgates. You’ve already mentioned the rust other than that keep the UJs on the props greased and the timing belt is really easy to do. Shouldn’t need much else!
Keep the chrome mirrors 100%, gives a cool retro vibe defo suits it
Andy seems like a good lad
Now there’s a Lanoguard episode right there ! The rust raining down when you had the socket gun on it 😂
Brilliant and how thankful he is really makes it gonna be a decent series 👍
Even if I had no knowledge of Andy I would guess he would drive a Hilux.
Like everyone is saying we all love Andy and he makes the Channel well deserved.
This is wholesome and now do the same for my boy jack 😂
Awesome truck Andy! I wish I could get one here in Canada. Get that thing sounds good with some exhaust work
Crusty Yota for the win! Surely some big roof mounted Hella spotties for the full retro vibe.
Good on ya!
Congrats Andy! Just gotta keep it simple. Maybe a lift kit and some lamps?
Unreal and stoked to see as an aussie. Surely coming up is chucking on some feral sliders to replace the steps
25:17 wow that’s rusty, Andy 😂.
I’d love to see you both clean up then raptor line the bed. Very handy, very practical
Love the truck, I reckon you should do a half roll cage and front bull bar, the kc spot lights like the truck in back to the future! 👌🏻👍
A little de-chrome would look very smart. Maybe a little truck bed liner on the bumpers too
My brother has one of these on an 02 reg, absolute machine. Definitely need to get a winch and bullbar on that!
Already super excited to see where this goes! Get on it boys 💪
big andy fan glad to see he’s chuffed with the truck, get that front bumper cut shorter to match the rear bumper and side skirt delete please 🙏🏼
Andy is such a good dude he really adds to the videos for me and I’m super happy for him
Cb radio, re trim the front seats, small spot light, mud flaps, roof rack/bars, slight tang on the exhaust, de chrome and under seal it maybe even a boot liner. Making me wanna get one now
Looking forward to this series. Truck looks sick. Keep the mods coming. Congrats Andy
So glad to see another truck on the channel, definitely videos where the best but these might top it
Looking forward to this build Andy’s a good bloke deserves it…. Get some lanoguard under it treat that chassis and stop the rust will last a bit longer….
That is Andy all over! Until Volvo do a Pickup
Absolutely buzzing about this build! Congrats Andy, you deserve it! Keep the content coming! 🙌🏻
Happy for you guys. Nice rig
You should make an integrated tool box holder that fits in the back. I've seen a bunch of Americans make them online. They look classy
The Hi-lux is awesome. Over the cab camper conversion would be insane, not sure how practical that would be for a daily though 😂
Had to add something else, I'm with boq, please for the love of god push that dent out on the bonnet!🙃
Truck looks proper now. Cant wait for how it will look at the end of the series
Great truck, suits Andy down to a T! Screaming for a straight pipe, snorkel and lift kit
10/10 looks mint, going to look unreal with a new front bumper and a wash
That generation of hilux is arguably the greatest all round pickup truck (non USA or AU) ever built. In my opinion
When I think back to the future, I never think Delorean! Has always been that Black Hilux! Sweet Sweet Truck
Lift kit , winch , snorkel , mirrors and grille dechromed and a seat of beacons , side indicator lenses orange 👌
Love the content I reckon the chrome grill should go body colour same as mirror caps will top it off lovely !
Dechrome the grill and mirrors, roof rack and bed cover, and raptor liner the bed, also derust the underside. Lift kit and sound system, will be mint after that. Looks 1000 times better without the rear bumper and side steps, need to do something with the front bumper, maybe colour match, or bull bar and roll bars for the bed, dechrome them too 😅
Maturing is evolving from hot hatches to trucks. What a weapon
Take the front bumper off and tube frame the front of it. Also that ramen design looks mint!
buzzing! Cant wait for the series XX
I thought Andy might've got something capable of a bit of off-roading, good on boq for buying him this one! Looking forward to the vids
Roof tent all the way lad! Big fat schnozzel aswell!
Next ramen you make, in the bowl with the sachets add; an egg yolk, peanut butter and a blob of mayo ... Game changer!
Yeah actually a shout
So minus the Italian 😅 the Hilux needs a suspension and body lift, front and rear bumpers, winch, maybe a cage frame for the tub to mount a tent box too? I love a double cab lux! Great buy!
Fully invested in this series… Love a bit of a budget friendly truck build. Tyres look proper as well 😎👌
Lift kit, winch, rear hatch sticker, spotlights and de-chrome 😉
The channel wouldn’t be the same without Andy and his antics. Get a lift kit, snorkel and a roll bar with some big spot lights and it’ll be mint
Hilux, yes Andy! Winch, lift kit, spot lights, some sort of camper build on the back, roof rack with solar, snorkel.
Think it will be Feb or March before I do that again though, that will be a smile. Might have commented early, great minds etc.
Okay I’m very excited for this series!!!
23:01 there’s literally a 1/2 impact gun behind Boq while he’s saying today is the worst day to not have an impact gun😂
That's the most mechanic thing I've ever seen, cut finger no problem ducktape, I recon you should do a 24 hour transformation video like you did with andys 940, maybe a lift kit off road bumpers, and a winch would top it off
Straight through exhaust 👌🏻
So excited for this project. Just travelling through Asia right now and as you can imagine everyone has atleast 1 hilux if not 2
