I'm not here to cirticize your playing or anything, awesome video! But, when playing master of puppets it's much easier to play it all on the low E string and it sounds better if you kill the power cords in the intro after you play them (in my opinion). Also if you're struggling with stamina or speed, try to relax you wrist as much as possible and to not tense up when playing and only use your wrist. Hope you found this helpful.
Yes, all those notes and power chords in the beginning should be played with the low E, i realised that some time ago, after this video. The rest is just lack of practicing it :D But thanks for the tips ;)

Oh, there is a lot of stuff. With interfaces, i would say the most popular choice would be Focusrite, they will start around 100 bucks or so, maybe one with 2 inputs, one for guitar and another for microphone would be the best bet, should be around 150 bucks or so. As for software, i like IK Multimedia Amplitube, the Amplitube 5 Custom Shop is free and comes with enough stuff to get you going. There are also other free VST Amps like the LePou plugins, but they require Impulse responses, which you can also find some for free, they also have free impulse response loaders. And then there is other payed stuff, which to be honest i don't use. Amplitube 5 Custom Shop let's you buy further modules as packs or individual amps, cab, mics, etc, for instance... As for the computer for all this i advise you to have something no older than around 2016 (if it was a good computer at the time) or so, but favour RAM and an SSD disk if possible
As I see, four years ago you had recorded the video, maybe I have a change and I ask:l if you still have stock pickups pleaelse sold them to me. They are really perfect.
Hi, I have a question. I would like to swap the stock pickups in Jackson KV with EMGs, however the kit that comes with the EMGs has short cables to input jack and battery, and that is a problem, so may ask how you solved the problem in your guitar?
Yes, others have asked that as well. I just had to solder longer cables to the emg kit ones. It's a little bit extra work, but no big deal, if you can solder or have someone who can help you out
Hey man, nice video. Just wanted to ask you something, I have the same guitar, and I want to also upgrade the pickups to emg, so, how did you do to connect the cable yo the output jack? Did you buy the Larger cable from the emg website? Or how did yo do it?
I had a stereo jack that i had bought and just soldered it to the output wires from the EMG electronics. So that's a ground wire, a signal wire and a battery wire. I didn't buy a larger cable because i had spare wires around and just soldered them to the EMG wires to extend them.
Another question for you megahurtz, did you have to cut an extra compartment into the body for the battery or do some rewiring/welding of your own to install these active pickups or it is a very much straight out of the box process? Thanks.
No cutting of extra compartments necessary, it fits in the electronics compartment. The soldering (welding) was minimal, the only unusual thing was needing extra wire length for the jack connection, as there is a longer wiring path to it than in most guitars..
@@aslamakinen9526 i had some wires lying around, i just used those. Any wires for electronics will do, just don't use too much thickness, so that they can fit
Stock pickup is a very nice pickup for the combination of the JS32 (I have JS32T warrior), I'd guess best pickup is a bit more articulate and a lil heavier sounding passives! EMG's better but on poplar and maple neck think it's an overkill of bright (Thin!) but always prefer EMG's for clarity and very little to no floor noise for being actives, I'd prefer EMG's in Mahagony or ash or even alder but the brighter the wood combinations (tone) the more it leans to heavier paaaives, Own thoughts/experience! Thanks for the comparison and the nice playing, keep it up Correction Passives
@@megahurtz30 thank you bro, I've put Seymour Duncan invader (Bridge) and a 59' (Neck) on a set-neck indoniseian guitar, mahagony body and mahagony neck, man it's so deep, it need regular tuning with 9-42 strings, you could drop to D, lower and the bass kill the high end like nothing, no matter how low you go on amp setting (Bass mid) boosting high won't get it right but more wrong lol, I've figured a mahagony body and neck for sure needs lighter/brighter pickups! Other thing about the JS32T, I played all models, feel like the Kelly is different but all other shapes are phenomenal, chinese and Indians. My chines came with a lot lower action with zero buzz, anyways all of them (except the Kelly) do resonate in such a crazy thing, I mean unplug it, strum some chords, maaan all those notes resonate with each like a Piano SO IMPRESSED, I own a KEXMG (Indoniseian X series Kelly with EMGs) it's awesome guitar, but the playability on the JS32T is a lil better (some of it due to unpainted neck but there is something better on JS32 necks), both are fast and comfortable but for the feel the JS32 for me, the X doesn't resonate as well why I don't know, I'd guess getting a JS32 and upgrading the pickups/controls/wiring/tuners and tremolo (if equipped) would be something that beats the pro lines, I might be wrong if it's strictly about single note performance, but the JS32 resonance at all the strings is amazing, not sure if there is any other guitar resonate that big while balanced, the X do resonate but not as good! Let me know about your thoughts, I'd say bassy SD passive in the bridge, SD passive a lil' bit bright in the neck, the remaining mods are off course known very well, locking tuners etc. Thank you
@@Haelmuscle The JS32 beating an X in resonance? wow you must have gotten lucky with that JS32. I guess no two guitars are exactly alike. The resonance in this one was normal for what it is, but i put an Original Floyd now, so it improved further. And i might get a Brass Fat block, to see if i can push it even further
@@megahurtz30 didn't beat it in resonance, the X resonates quite well but what I'm guessing it's the floyd which a lil, make it worse than it should as far as resonance goes, the X resonates a tiny bit better, but the JS32T is so scary close, I mean you can't tell unless you're so picky, my guess is that if My X was T (string through) it'd be far better, What do you think as resonance goes, when you did the conversion to the Floyd? Thank you for your time, I'm so glad to share and get info, it's so informative, usually people just don't compare entry lvl to Pro lvl, while believe that, some entry lvls that gets built right are impressive, the playability of the JS32T is a lil' better not the resonance! That's why I'd like to grab two different class guitars from same brand, believe it, it's hit and miss, sometimes the Playability is better on a lower class, grabbing other same guitar models again would truly show you how different they are, your point is quite right, they are built differently, there is little guitars that play alike let's say Yamaha maybe, I'm not saying they are better but they are so close to each other? I don't know why but it's the case with my experience

É que existem guitarras usadas e porreiras a bom preço já com EMG, portanto é um bocado relativo. Hey Megahurtz, so have not gone for the EMG but the Seymour Duncan Livewire instead. I would do the shielding and install myself, now the King V which I am yet to receive (New Zealand long way from anywhere...) seems super tight as far as the cavity goes for the pots. I was thinking about cutting a compartment into the cover for a battery holder so you don’t have to remove the plate every time the battery goes flat we will see if it is possible or not. That’s assuming the battery goes flat unless it is recharging every time the guitar is plugged, I don’t have much understanding of the actual electrical part of active pickups in that respect. Have you made any new modifications to your guitar since posting this video? Thanks mate.
Hi! I have not made any other modifications. If the Livewire only use one battery, i think it fits and you don't need to do anything special. The battery lasts a really long time, maybe years, just remember to unplug the guitar cable when you are not using it. The real problem, might be the wires that com from the guitar jack to the pots, they are rather long, and the new wiring might be not that long, you will have to check, you might need longer wires..

The stock pickups don’t sound that bad. Tbh it’s just I don’t like the “zebra” style pickups
That's a great lookin' and soundin' guitar....!
Nice vid. Emg wins but I’d still jam happily on those stock pickups. I’ve had stock pickups so bad like on my bc rich that I didn’t even want to look at the guitar anymore
Hi dude. Emgs are great for heavy and chopped distorded riffs. But, the Jackson's stock humbucker are great too according to me : they sound much more hot and clear specially with clean tone. I own a king v as well but the kvx pro with Seymour Duncan dimebucker in the bridge : monster of tone. Nice vid 🤘😉
MAB uses the same picks. They are durable and pointy.
Going to do same upgrade to a friends jackson king v, just wondering if the emg pickups fit in the stock pickup rings.
yes, no problem, you might have to use the pickup screws that come with the EMG though
Awesome wow

Can you offer some insight about amp plug ins like how to get started with interfaces and whatnot and some prices for these things, thanks!!

It's a little bit extra work, but no big deal, if you can solder or have someone who can help you out
@@megahurtz30 thanks a lot 🙏
Stock pups have way more warmth. I would've stuck with them.
you have some huge palms man i can barely play all the strings of my flying V
Don't scoop all the mids for distortion. However, it sounded awesome
Guess that too, Stock bridge nailing dimebag's easily lol
Hey man, nice video.
Just wanted to ask you something, I have the same guitar, and I want to also upgrade the pickups to emg, so, how did you do to connect the cable yo the output jack? Did you buy the
Larger cable from the emg website? Or how did yo do it?
I had a stereo jack that i had bought and just soldered it to the output wires from the EMG electronics. So that's a ground wire, a signal wire and a battery wire. I didn't buy a larger cable because i had spare wires around and just soldered them to the EMG wires to extend them.
ojalá pudiera tener una, acá en argentina sale más del doble del precio
Active pickups are always better than passive. I used emg 81 & 85 on all my guitars.
on EMG clean sound is better, but distortion a same
Another question for you megahurtz, did you have to cut an extra compartment into the body for the battery or do some rewiring/welding of your own to install these active pickups or it is a very much straight out of the box process? Thanks.
No cutting of extra compartments necessary, it fits in the electronics compartment. The soldering (welding) was minimal, the only unusual thing was needing extra wire length for the jack connection, as there is a longer wiring path to it than in most guitars..
@@megahurtz30 how did you get the longer wire for thr jack?
@@aslamakinen9526 i had some wires lying around, i just used those. Any wires for electronics will do, just don't use too much thickness, so that they can fit
Stock pickup is a very nice pickup for the combination of the JS32 (I have JS32T warrior), I'd guess best pickup is a bit more articulate and a lil heavier sounding passives! EMG's better but on poplar and maple neck think it's an overkill of bright (Thin!) but always prefer EMG's for clarity and very little to no floor noise for being actives, I'd prefer EMG's in Mahagony or ash or even alder but the brighter the wood combinations (tone) the more it leans to heavier paaaives,
Own thoughts/experience!
Thanks for the comparison and the nice playing, keep it up

Thanks! Interesting info there, about the woods
@@megahurtz30 didn't beat it in resonance, the X resonates quite well but what I'm guessing it's the floyd which a lil, make it worse than it should as far as resonance goes, the X resonates a tiny bit better, but the JS32T is so scary close, I mean you can't tell unless you're so picky, my guess is that if My X was T (string through) it'd be far better,
What do you think as resonance goes, when you did the conversion to the Floyd?
@@Haelmuscle the resonance improved a bit, it's an original Floyd after all, besides, it has a block of 42mm height, the stock Licenced Floyd has a smaller block...

Jazz 3s are the only pic
Were these pretty easy to install? I have the same V and have been considering making the swap to EMG’s
It's all pretty standard to install, except for the wires to the output jack, they are rather long in this guitar, the ones that come with emg might not be long enough and you may need to use others. But other than that, it's an easy install
