  • Evelyn Boyd Simmons, former president of the Logan Circle Community Association, and Pixie Windsor, owner of vintage home furnishings store Miss Pixie's, discuss the history of Washington DC's Logan Circle neighborhood. Named after Union Army Civil War General John Logan, the neighborhood was primarily residential for much of its history. By the 1970s, the community was struggling with prostitution and drug activity as many of the grand homes fell into disrepair. The city and the neighborhood worked to bring positive change and in recent years Logan Circle has seen a revitalization with new businesses and restaurants. But while the neighborhood is more vibrant, it is also more gentrified.
