This man is kickass! That Sanju reference made Anupama's mouth shut as it came from her husband's production house. The film was meant for entertainment and not influencing the society anyway. He is right, none of the critics including Sucharita have not mentioned any of the technical and performance aspect of the movie which was too good or the music for that matter. Is this how movies are being reviewed? Reviews are meant to be done keeping aside personal interest, but i dont think this is happening in India.
As a former film student recollect a distinct incident. As part of course we had to critique/review films. Our Prof, showed us a Korean film by Kim Ki Duk whuch explored sexuality. My personal preferences kicked in and I reviewed. Got 3 out of 10 for a flawless English piece. Prof told me - you contaminated the review with your belief systems and therefore you failed in the objectiveness. What a lesson it was! I therefore agree with you completely

But Vijay's stardom emerged out of Arjun Reddy, not out of Pelli Choopulu, for example. The movies he got later were after effects of Arjun Reddy success Vijay definitely contributed heavily to Arjun Reddy, but at the end of the day movie is director's medium. Director waited for a long time for Krishna's dates and finally made Khaidi with Chiranjeevi. Similarly, Sandeep Vanga waited for Sharwanand and eventually made with Vijay We can not say for sure that Arjun Reddy wudn't be this successful if Sharwa acted. The movie is about performance, not choreographed fights, no choreographed dances, no comedy scenes that need special acting talents, etc. Sharwa already acted in movies that need subtle performance, exaggerated performance, moody, aggressive, depressive, etc. We saw what he is capable of in Prasthaanam. What if Sharwa acted and he got the break he has been waiting for and became a big star, like Ravi Teja got with Idiot, Chiru with Khaidi, etc That's why director is called captain of the ship Sridevi Nagarjuna Rajinikanth were originally supposed to act in RGV's Rangeela. What if that combination went ahead! Nag might've become a star in Bollywood. Aamir had back to back 5 flops before Rangeela and movie did run on his stardom. The same critics were OK with toilet seat scene in Sanju, sexual violence in sacred games.

In spite of completely disagreeing on the film, both Anupama and Sandeep spoke very civilly and candidly. I don't think either of them were trying to oppose or criticize each other. Sandeep was just making his point and Anupama gave him the necessary space and time to do that. Respect.

This man is kickass! That Sanju reference made Anupama's mouth shut as it came from her husband's production house. The film was meant for entertainment and not influencing the society anyway. He is right, none of the critics including Sucharita have not mentioned any of the technical and performance aspect of the movie which was too good or the music for that matter. Is this how movies are being reviewed? Reviews are meant to be done keeping aside personal interest, but i dont think this is happening in India.

As a former film student recollect a distinct incident. As part of course we had to critique/review films. Our Prof, showed us a Korean film by Kim Ki Duk whuch explored sexuality. My personal preferences kicked in and I reviewed. Got 3 out of 10 for a flawless English piece. Prof told me - you contaminated the review with your belief systems and therefore you failed in the objectiveness. What a lesson it was! I therefore agree with you completely

Vijay is obviously talented. Sandeep is also talented. But Vijay's stardom emerged out of Arjun Reddy, not out of Pelli Choopulu, for example. The movies he got later were after effects of Arjun Reddy success
Vijay definitely contributed heavily to Arjun Reddy, but at the end of the day movie is director's medium.
Director waited for a long time for Krishna's dates and finally made Khaidi with Chiranjeevi. Similarly, Sandeep Vanga waited for Sharwanand and eventually made with Vijay
We can not say for sure that Arjun Reddy wudn't be this successful if Sharwa acted. The movie is about performance, not choreographed fights, no choreographed dances, no comedy scenes that need special acting talents, etc.
Sharwa already acted in movies that need subtle performance, exaggerated performance, moody, aggressive, depressive, etc. We saw what he is capable of in Prasthaanam.
What if Sharwa acted and he got the break he has been waiting for and became a big star, like Ravi Teja got with Idiot, Chiru with Khaidi, etc

Arjun Reddy too drew criticism but he was OK with that as the critics down south discussed about certain other things pertaining to film making, direction, background score, performance etc. Whereas, here the critics dint talk of performances, just talk of negatives. The same critics were OK with toilet seat scene in Sanju, sexual violence in sacred games.
