- We've covered terrifying video games before on the channel but it seems there's an endless supply of them out there. It’s time, then, to return to the creeping world of horror and see what other spooks have been waiting for us in the shadows in the past few years. Today, we’ve once again gathered together some of the titles that have put us right off our dinner and caused more than a few sleepless nights. When i was young i remember a friend being so scared of the giant alligator in the original RE2 that i had to play the section for him when it showed up because i had just gotten through that part with a different friend a couple days prior, so once he heard that he asked if i could come over and get past it for him.
He was surprised to see me calmly walk over to the fire extinguisher \ oxygen tank, back up and then blow the Gator's head off with it since he had been so freaked out by it that he just stopped playing and didn't take the time to figure out the easy kill trick for it.

I recently played Little Nightmares 2 and RE7. Both are worth playing to the end. I've heard good things about Visage. I want to try that sometime once it goes on sale.
I tried the demo for Little Nightmares 2,and it ended for me when I was shot in the back by The Hunter 😂

Yep, the aesthetic influence for monsters is SH and the gameplay influence for taking out monsters from Resi 👍
Last night, I was playing as Ashely from resident evil 4 remake . It was terrifying. I couldn't handle with Armors
That was a very well written list! Gota give the props to the script, since the entries mixed well a variety of famous and more obscure titles together.
Haven't heard of most of the game son this list, but they all seem like great recomendations

Rule of Rose is such a deep cut in survivor horror ! The gameplay is trash but makes up overall for the story and music. The music being gorgeous with only violins even when fighting ❤
Rule of Rose's surrealist horror is absolutely mesmerizing and so well done. I cannot praise it enough.

Me and my girl just finally played and finished RE 7 and 8 this week. They’re probably the most terrifying Resident Evil games we’ve played. Went back to the RE 4 remake and aside from the regenerators/Iron Maiden’s, nothing in it compares scare wise.
I remember being about 12 and terrified of RE1.

RESI 8 was great imho..
Replayed it like 5 times, the unlockable weapons & challenges was some of the most moreish gameplay I think I've had in years

Neither of those games are scary. RE2 remake absolutely shits on both of them. First person does not work in Resident Evil.
I have RE7 in my backlog, got it for the VR. Sounds like I've gotta give it a shot soon.

Amnesia, Dead Space 1+2, Silent Hill 2, and Resident Evil 7 are my picks for scariest ever made.

i was my partner's emotional support through RE 7, it was the first video game she's ever beaten and if I'm going to be honest I was much more comfortable taking a backseat to it. great game, but I much preferred the less intense RE: Village

I've been doing digital art for around 20 years, and NGL, it's not complete dog shit.. Most def better than i would be able to accomplish with paint and paintbrushes..
Pathologic 2, Drakengard 1 and Song of Saya are some of my picks.

3:34 Isn't that a super rare game? I have heard of it. I might have to emulate it or use a reproduction disc for a more authentic experience. That's what I did for Blood Will Tell, another rare game. I actually got it in a pretty convincing looking case even though the print on the disc looked a bit dusty which I got for around $20. I'm not paying $100+ for a game. You will needed a modded PS2 to play it. Fortunately there are ways to easily soft mod your PS2 without taking it apart. I think Rule of Rose is more expensive than Blood Will Tell is. I'm not sure why the other game is so rare and I think Sega made it. Could be the fact that it's a licensed game since it it based off of one of Tezuka's stories which is why it never got a remake.
Doki Doki is horrifying? It is a bit unsettling.
Little Nightmares looks like something Tim Burton would make.

Dead Space 3 is great. Being the third best game in a trilogy of great games isn’t the end of world and y’all need to stop letting EA’s meddling ruin your ability analyze the game they meddled with

@@ChrisAtheist It was one of my favourite games on the Genesis, and probably the most fun I ever had with a soccer game. My dad and I used to play and set the match time to a full 90 real time minutes. We were both addicted to it.

I feel like you guys hate horror games or are pretty soft when it comes to horror. None of these games are so scary that you cant beat them. Although i will say i really love horror games lol
Saying RE7 blew previous titles out of the water is just a matter of opinion. RE7 and RE8 are two of the worst titles in the series along with a few other trashy RE games. RE7 is NOT Resident Evil. We only got it because PT failed miserably. Ethan is not part of RE or its lore. He is unlikable and has no personality. Yeah it's my opinion but many will agree with me
I don't fully trust anyone that tells me that Doki Doki Literature Club is scary.
Im yet to find a video game, movie or anything else that is actually scary. Im still trying to figure out why people are scared of such things. Most things that people are scared of i find either funny or relaxing.
I'm similar in that I seem to have a bit of an autistic trait that doesn't let me 'suspend disbelief' easily. I actually like playing horror games for the visuals and gameplay more than the potential for soiling myself. And yet I have no problem blubbing away at the sad bits in games and TV shows etc. For that reason alone I avoid funerals if at all socially acceptable to do so.
I'm the same. Have you tried playing horror games in VR. Something about the immersion amps up the fear factor massively and I can only play in small bursts.
