I feel sorry for these people completely but when you live on an active volcano you know the risks. Not only is La Palma active but it's also one of the most dangerous places to live on earth with the whole island having a major crack through the flank of the Cumbre Vieja. That flank will split off at some point in the future and when it does it will be game over for the whole island. People know the risks, why are they so bewildered and confused when things eventually go wrong? The eruption was warned, the island splitting in two pieces has been warned yet no-one listens. I left La Palma years ago because of the warnings.
