Thanks for sharing. I disagree with using pseudocode and they (at least this semester) gave a great post about structuring pseudocode; what is acceptable and what is not. There are many "shortcuts" in languages that we take for granted, and so to think about precisely what is going on was important for my understanding, and analyzing runtime.

      Thanks, that’s good to hear

Love the video, Paul. Also, the closing take on using real code as well and your guidance on how to best leverage the content is solid! A+ thumbnail too!

I thought this was a mandatory course. How did you graduate from OMSCS if you dropped this course? Also, I appreciate your candidness. Sometimes things get to be overwhelming and dropping is the right decision.

Excellent , keep it up pl.

This is a mandatory course for me. But Yes. Im excited to do this one. However, I feel like I've already done 2/3rds of this at some point. I remember this from DSA and DM 1 and 2

Thanks for your videos, Paul! I really appreciate your pragmatic take on OMSCS Specializations, taking easier courses with Interactive Intelligence and just watching the lectures since they are the highest value.
I'm at the end of OMSA with a focus on ML and HCI as electives, and was thinking of OMSCS Spec Computing Systems because I still feel a lack of computational theory and software engineering topics. Cheers

Is this class harder than CS 6601? Debating on if I should go with interactive intelligence or take this course as a final course?

Yeah I mean in my experience with both classes, I much preferred 6601 (although it is hard) because it was more programming focused
This class was more pseudo code focused which I didn’t like
But depends which you think might suit you best

Are there no video lectures? Live or recorded?

      There are, they are recorded:

I’ll be taking this for my ML degree and going in expecting there to be a lot of work. ML has been the worst class for me so far (couldn’t stand Isbell’s teaching philosophy). I’m hoping this one is better.

      Good luck!

I survived! I barely got enough to not take the final. 70.3% to be exact (that’s a B)! I hated the way the exams were worded. Study the homework! They’ll come in handy! Oh, and this wasn’t as bad as ML. Not even close.
