Brings back so many memories. I got the privilege fonishing it on a high school trip for young trouble makers. And it worked for guy. Great video keep doing them..
In 2000, I took the first of 5 trips on this amazing trail. First memory: waiting near the Gordon river ferry to meet up with my trailmates. In the distance I see 5 filthy, muddy, exhausted women marching 5 abreast en route to the trailhead office. When asked how was the trip, they could only say gruesome. They had come from Norway, and on day 2, it rained non stop. 4 inches. Everything soaked. Then 5 more days playing in the mud to get through to Gordon river. I was wondering just what in the hell I'd got myself into. We saw no rain at all.
No Hammocks. FYI for other folks, you are apparently not supposed to use Hammocks on the WCT. Also, having done this before, I could smell the Sea Lions! Its a smell you'll never forget :).
Well we used to go camping there about 10 years ago it was the most beautiful place you’ve ever been. But they change Chiefs. Then they booted all the campers out. It was so sad
Shannon Kozak thanks! I brought two spare batteries for the Sony and borrowed a battery from my Mavic which acted as an additional power bank for my camera and phone. The drone batteries hold an insane amount of power for their size and weight, perfect for hiking with!
HEY THERE. Great video. I will be running the WCT at the end of may with a buddy. Going ultra light and fast. Aiming for 3.5 days. I've been searching for a video log of someone doing this route who has a bit more technical info. Distances. Difficulty rating for sections. Time duration of hiking each day. Perhaps Add this info into the description. For Example: DAY 1- 14km Rocks, Ladders, etc etc..DAY 2 - 11km etc etc etc. And perhaps add in any resources you used. Links. Maps. Other video logs.. Overall great shooting and explanation.
I hiked this trail 3 years ago when i was 11 and it was the best experience of my life. this brough back so many memories
You captured the experience and the beauty of the trip very well. Well done Eric!

Hiked it in 1985. Great adventure. Only 1 day of rain.
This was amazing. Love the camera work, and the soundtrack!
This is really well-edited and a great overview of the trail. Hoping to do it myself sometime soon! Keep up the good work.
Great video and wonderful music! Thank you for sharing your experience.
Beautiful landscapes
Love it! I am waiting for new vlog in West Coast Trail b4 I will head out next year.

This is in BC's interior.. not the West Coast Trail. No sea lions here, but there are mountain goats!
The trail just had a renovation. Good to gp👍

Love it. Thank you very much
Great post!!
Did you not wear gators? Also, how did you arrange for the boat pickup rendezvous?
What happened to the hammock set up? I only saw it in the first campsite?

Awesome adventure!
T. Falls are ice cold ! :-). As of 2019 Moniques no longer exists.
How was the bathroom situation along the trail?
I plan on doing this hike in 2020. Any tips on what to bring with me would be good.
Mike Reed lysol wipes and hand sanitizer.
Awesome. What did you use to keep your camera charged up on the trail?
Shannon Kozak thanks! I brought two spare batteries for the Sony and borrowed a battery from my Mavic which acted as an additional power bank for my camera and phone. The drone batteries hold an insane amount of power for their size and weight, perfect for hiking with!
Awesome video! Which spot did you guys start from?
Thank you! We started hiking in Pachena, on the North end of the trail.
great trip ..just wondering if people hike in the mountains that stretch up the island.. thank you
I just posted a video too on my West Coast Trail adventures buddy. Good video! Cool stuff man. Your'e a small youtuber like myself. Props.
What did you use to recharge your phone, cameras etc throughout this trip?
I vlogged our family's WCT experience ruclips.net/video/7yVwDXP29Cg/видео.html Sun, Sea, Orcas, Roots and Ladders! So many ladders!
May I ask on average how many kms you walked per day?
Cool video!!!
How do you know where the trail is when your hiking on the beach? Is there markings saying where to go?
Effy Rounds You walk along the beach till you see some buoys in the trees, and that’s usually the trail marker. It helps to have a map too.
so nice

SOMEONE IN THE COMMENT SECTION WANT TO TRY THE TRAIL WITH ME ????
If I could, I would :(
Just a bit slower on the camera movements would be better. Just saying!
