My reasoning for gaming CPM being so low probably has two reasons; one, a large part of the gaming community plays on PC, where adblockers are used by a large percentage of people, and two, gaming really doesn't pull in much money. Only the largest companies really run advertisements for their games, so related ads are just hard to come by
I think a big reason is a significant chunk of the gaming audience are kids who don't have their own money to spend on things and thus are a less valuable audience to advertisers.
@@Octorious I seriously disagree. Children are the most valuable demographic to advertise to. Children may not have their own money, but they have no problem begging to their parents. See how much money toy companies and children content on youtube makes. McDonalds entire marketing strategy for most of their existance was tailored towards children and they're a massive company
@KingOreo2017 That puts it into a slightly different context than advertising on gaming channels on RUclips.
Whilst kids of course have no problem begging parents for things, ultimately it's still the parents with the buying power. This is why finance channels have super high CPM as they are targeting people looking at or who already are making good money, and advertisers also tend to be advertising higher value products. It's better to get straight to who will make the purchase rather than relying on parents spoiling a child.
The ads on gaming videos will tend to be for a lower value product as well like you've already mentioned (same for toys like you mention), so the marketing budget needs to go further as they need to reach more people to be successful. As a result, that means the bid per view becomes substantially lower because each ad view in itself is less valuable.
I could be wrong on this though of course, I'm no expert. I run a hybrid gaming/tech channel myself and am going off of what I've seen from my own stats and what fellow creators from various niches have said to me on the topic. Is worth mentioning that all the sponsors ive worked with have always accepted my higher counter offer to their initial offer, once I've shown my audience age is mostly 18-35, with only a couple percent below 18. I found it much more difficult to push sponsor prices up before I realised how important demographics were, and of course they rarely ask in the gaming niche as they want an excuse to charge less assuming the audience is younger. Ultimately, I think it's a combination of the reason I've given and the 2 you said too, along with a few other small factors.

I think it’s because there are too many gaming channels, so they can’t be giving out loads of money to everyone, so they needed to lower the amount to sustain the influx of gaming viewers and channels
I like how he said in his most recent Beast Gaming video and I quote "We upload so much on this channel!" but he did only 3 uploads in 2023
12:34 yeah but that’s what dislikes are for! they aren’t meant to be hate, they are literally meant to be feedback for the creator so they know how the audience felt about the video. obviously nowadays there’s a stigma against disliking; mostly youtubes fault for changing the system (i think disliking videos now brings it down in the algorithm) and hiding the dislike amount, but tbh I’ve never disliked a video anyway since if I don’t like a video, I just won’t watch it
Ironically Jack made a short that proved this right the entire premise was tp see what disliking a video/short would do and it preformed horrible lyrics with 0 like and all views being dislikes.
Except the dislikes are mostly pointed at Ava because she's trans, even before she came out people were pissed because she had long hair and coloured nails

Beast Reacts original name was actually Mr.Beast (MrBeast with a full stop) as far as I can remember, I'm pretty sure they referred to the channel as "Mr Period Beast" in some of the older vids

I feel that both Jack and the original uploader avoided pointing out that many, if not most of the dislikes on Kris Tyson's videos on Beast Reacts were due to straight up transphobia. I wish they both stated it clearly instead of skirting around it. Disappointing.
Well the original creator called kris he/him in this video, so I doubt he cared about the transphobia unfortunately

Dont know if jacks actually reads this but ill throw it out there. I think Jimmy stopped uploading on the channel since its already good enough for him. He mainly focuses on the videos on the main channel and his side channels produce a good amount of extra money for him with the videos that are already on the channels. Especially since Jimmy mentioned that all his side channels and companies (Mrbeast burger, Feastable, Beast reacts, Mrbeast gaming etc.) were too much for him. I believe he just cut down the the important channels being his main channel and Philantrophy, on wich he can now fully focus on releasing the best quality videos possible!
