    I recenlty had a very experienced angler blow my mind with his set up. I’m pulling 25-30 inch red fish on a $25 SeaTech 6’6 medium/heavy Walmart rod on a Shimano Sedona 2500 reel and 1/4 oz jig/ gulp bait. Also works well on Trout in the flats. One inexpensive set up (less than $100) that is very versatile and catches a ton of fish! Angler said he ran expensive gear for years, but this is the set up he had the most luck with- who knew.

    This video is excellent. It should be required watching for anyone wanting to fish inshore from Tampa Bay to ENP. Even if you choose not to buy the brands he is representing, the advice on length, power, action, reel, line etc is spot on for this area. I fished for many years in Tampa Bay out of 16 Hewes and this guy put out in one 12 minute video what took me years of trial and error to figure out.

    I setup my 12-20 Crowder eseries with a shimano baitrunner 4500B with 50lb. Braid ..i usually use 30 lb...but i figure in florida around bridges an jetty's and even close to shore i wanted more lbs. to be able to heft the fish away an into the boat..will see if i made the right choice.

    Ok fishing for striped bass inshore from the shore(beach, jetty, pier) for places like the northeast using inshore rods and reels? I love using a 7ft medium or medium heavy with a 3500 reel with 20-30lb braid with leader from 20-40lb leader. Now attaching lures I'll use a tactical anglers clip 50lb or 75lb depending on lures, leader, and which style of location and type of structure that's around. Now if distance is a thing that I NEED, I'll go to a 10ft spinning surf rod medium heavy, 5000 size reel, 30 or 40lb braid, leader being 30-60lb, 50-125lb Tactical angler clip.

    Hey, what is the line retrieval in inches for the CE 2500? I submitted this question on the FFP website but have not heard back.
    Thank you

      Man I'm sorry for the delay on this. I'm the only one on marketing at the moment, so comments have been slipping through the cracks. The line retrieve is 26.77" on the 2500 CE

    Please don’t take this as a dumb question but how do you not break off if your using like 15 lbs test I want to get into snook fishing

    • @FLFlatsmaster
      @FLFlatsmaster 2 года назад +1

      Light drag, let the fish run itself tired. As long as there’s no structure the snook can break you off on you should be good with 15 or even 10 lb braid. Use 20-30 lb mono leader for snook

      @@FLFlatsmaster I disagree you do not want to over tire the fish they won't survive or will get eaten by a shark. Heavier gear gets the fish in fast and lively. Less time reviving.

      The video is made by FFP.. did you expect him to recommend other brands?
      This was more of a video on situational awareness and his reasoning behind using different gear for different applications.

      You can use different brand reels sizing of the reel shouldn't really change much
