Blackjack is a fantastic game to play with perfect basic strategy. Go to a near full table, wait for a new shoe (for etiquette), and play. It can be really fun and engaging if you go to bullshit with the dealer and other players. Never go to a casino expecting to win. Just hope to win and have a good time!
Except when it dosn't and even with basic you still loose every hand
Soft 13 against a dealer 3 is actually NOT a doubledown. But you actually have pretty decent luck when you deviate from basic strategy, better then I do when I slip up and go against the grain....good luck SL

Not surprised it's dealt face-down. Single-deck, knowing the cards is huge. Good on them to allow you to do it face-up for the camera, especially considering it's a private table.

I would have gone to one hand in order to get the dealer's hand a few times. Also it can change up the deal sometimes.

Great channel, great video but I would have left this table at 7:32. This dealer was absolutely brutal. Are there any $5 BJ tables at El Cortez or is $10 or $25 the minimum?
The double-deck is $5 minimum I believe! Not sure about single-deck!

The dealer made an error at 13:27 that cut against you. You had a 21 on one of your split aces but she pushed your bet against her pat 20.... Always watch the dealers closely and call out any errors! (looking at it again, she also pushed your losing 18 against the 20, so maybe she is new! El Co dealers are known for being green. ;)
There was no error; I lost one hand and won the other, so she called it a push. I hope that helps!

I’m not sure! You’d have to call and ask what the deck penetration is!

Question: is splitting 7s against a weak dealer card right. I know splitting 8 and Aces is always. Is that a different strategy for single deck? Curious, not criticizing, I’m always looking to learn and increase my chances.
Also, El Cortez is a really nice place to play, glad you’re giving them their due. I come into town and stay down the street at the Nugget, my good friend retired in Vegas, so he likes BJ, and El Cortez is great, he can play for $5 (he’s modest in his play, does it when people come to town), they treat the customers very nice.

at like 12 min in the video it gets around plus 6-9 all in a few hands where she split and doubles and won all of em....i woulda been bettin big!!!
lol i totally understand card counting....all youre doing is flipping the house edge and the house will win 49.5 percent of the time in the long run....all im saying is in that moment she would of had some really nice hands and could of walked away with a nice win because the count was high. trust me i understand everything there is to know about card counting, bet spreads, risk of ruin, deviations, and overall the "long run" haha.
and when i say i would of been betting big, what i meant was id be betting accordingly to the count and my bet spread with my current bankroll. and if that was me sitting in that position i woulda played it much differently and been up quite a bit.
not to mention this is single deck blackjack....doesnt take much of a bankroll to come out on top as a card counter in single deck BJ lol

The other hand was a losing hand, so she just pushed between the two hands! I hope that helps!

There was a winning and losing hand next to each other, so the two hands cancel and equal a push.
Yes, one hand was a win, one was a loss, so the dealer called it a push. I hope that helps!

Very last hand, hit the 12vs3. Not sure I'm a fan of one deck. I like 6 deck the most. If I find a 4 deck game that would be great.

This is my own money! I always tip at the end of my sessions, so I can get an accurate win/loss! I hope that helps!

Single is not really best for live ... plus normally it's a shuffle every hand ... best played with full table.

A dealer can’t show 18, only 8 or 10.
I prefer playing single deck bcuz you can kind of card counts but enough to have an idea how many small and big hands dealt.
Amazed they let you film there. I pull out my phone to check the time or check for a text and get yelled at every time

A lot of the downtown LV casinos have the 3:2 payout on blackjack, and lower minimum bets if you're a grinder like me.

At around 14 min there was a hand where you split 9s and aces and the dealer had 20..you had a suited blackjack and she didnt pay you..she pushed it

@Chris Smith i can’t review the hand without the timestamp, but it’s not considered blackjack if it happens after a split. Probably what happened is that one hand lost, one hand won, therefore it was overall a push

You would have to call the casino and ask!
You're just not allowed to. If you turn your hand over and they see that you busted but didn't show it, they'll tell you not to do it. I imagine if you did it multiple times you'd be asked to stop playing.
How come the audio seems to drop several times during many of your streams?
Sometimes I have to mute portions of the video when they are other casino guests saying certain things in the background! I hope that helps!
Never ever split 9s when the dealer is showing a Ace or picture card. Good luck.
Although not advised with basic strategy, if that's how you choose to play, your odds of improving are higher through split 9's compared to the hard 18
Thanks for the session, Sarah. If you're game, I'd love to see you try one sometime with a "no bust" strategy. Essentially, you'll never hit on a 12 or better. See how it works out vs. the usual where the player often causes herself or himself to bust. It makes most people groan about the ones they would've won, but then you never lose by busting yourself, so does it equal out? Let's see! (As always, a ridiculously hot run by the dealer can foil it, but otherwise we should see something interesting.) It's good to try it on a private table--as you tend to play--since then you have no one getting upset with you for "playing wrong" and changing their draws.

That is a ridiculous strategy. Only good for the casinos. Try basic strategy.
