I am so happy to see this. I was a child living in Tigoni, Kenya in from '68 to '71 and I loved watching these racers motor through the village.
To this day, rally is the only form of auto racing I enjoy watching.

Wow! A super classic video clip, when the East African Safari was a real challenge. Excellent traditional dancers. Note the young bewildered lad at 3.27 - 3.35, that's H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, the current President of this great Nation of Kenya. Please post the 1972 East African Safari rally video when Hannu Mikkola eventually won the event becoming the first European driver to win the event.

Sounds like you been in Kenya before.
Amazes me that little boy @ 3:27 just flagged off Kenyas Safari Rally comeback in 2021 as President of Kenya..

It used to be so much fun driving amongst the wild game and having an elephant block your path for a few minutes. The country was also so awesomely beautiful. The spirit of adventure!

It was Joginder Singh who made this rally seem effortless, exhilarating - full of excitement through his sheer genius of driving prowess, skilfully tackling the rough and trecherous terrains of East Africa and was also a 3 time champion. Simba wa Kenya or the Flying Sikh. RIP

Haha. Just saw the elephant. It almost looked indignant, even taunting. As though it was screwing with that crew for it's own amusement. Either way, it made me chuckle. As it would appear, Safari will be returning to the WRC in 2019. Hopefully it breaks from modern format and honours it's history.

Does anyone have any details/pictures/videos of Ken Nash around about this time? He did it in a Goggolmobile, a MOrris Minor and a Zephyr, I think. Thanks.

When you strip away all the useless geopolitics and poor socioeconomic function, it becomes rather easy to step back and realize just how much beauty, wonder, hope, intrigue, and pleasure this absolutely amazing piece of existence we have as our home provides. Instead of obsessing over such bogus garbage as man made climate change we should get back to focusing on the real ecological problems we have created. "Greenhouse gases" are not our issue. Deforestation, destroying our water supplies, mismanaging both our domestic and wild animal populations, excessive waste and garbage that continues to accumulate. These issues have nearly disappeared in the last few years. Global warming IS a scam. And the same people selling it to you are the same people most responsible for the afforementioned problems. Let's stop taking this bullshit and collectively take our world back.

Not many people take time to think about whether what they are doing is worth the effort expended.
They are forever frustrated with the routine but don't stop to consider alternatives.
Is life in urban areas worth it? I don't think so.
